If you think this discussion is so “dumb”, why are you participating in it? It’s very easy to just walk away if you feel that’s the case. I see discussions and topics every day on this forum and others that I feel are stupid or pointless. In those cases, I just don’t get involved. I don’t chime in just to tell everybody that does think that the topic is worth while that I think they’re “dumb” for doing so. Steve

This is what I've been trying to argue all along, and it highlights the problem with these faceless emoticons. Let's pretend that I've just posted a modeling procedure post of some sort in the "Tips, Tricks and Tutorials" section of the forum. Somebody adds a "confused" notification to my post. Well, how am I supposed to interpret the individuals confusion, and possibly help them through it with further information when I don't even know who the person is? Again, this just highlights how useless anonymous reactions are. As I see it, something like a "confused" emoticon offered anonymously has no purpose other than to make a sarcastic statement about a particular post, and not have to take responsibility for it. If there's no way that I can address your confusion, I can't help alleviate it. I see no other use for it whatsoever. Steve

The thread will die “for you” when you stop visiting it. Steve

Bingo! If you’re not interested, move on. Nobody’s forcing anyone’s participation, and it’s nobody’s place to tell anyone else that they have to “forget about it”. Steve

Ha!! ? Like I care! There are people on this board that I don’t get along with, and they don’t get along with me, and in most cases, I wouldn’t have it any other way! These emoticons just give me another excuse to ignore the same people in a new format! ? Steve

I'm very chill, and my comments about censorship that you quoted were not directed at you either. They're just my general feelings about what always seems to conspire when a thread evolves in it's scope, which they almost inevitably will. Rather than discuss aspects of the topic at hand, inevitably, someone always winds up berating others simply because of participation, and because they feel that the thread is not to their liking, it should go away. That's part of my point. Anonymous emoticons are a perfect vehicle for this sort of thing. If that's how some will treat them, (and they will) I'm just saying have the guts to face me, or keep your funny little faces to yourself. Isn't it obvious that if a "confused" emoticon can mean several different things, or a "laughing" one can mean that someone is laughing with you, or laughing at you, it really doesn't mean anything, does it? If I don't know what you mean by it, what good is it? Steve

I won't get into whether or not someone thinks that a discussion should continue or not, what they consider the best answer, or who's entitled to the last word, but the "confused" comments that I made were a joke made to highlight the severe confusion that seems rampant in this thread among the people who are using the like button. I always find it quite amusing how every time a discussion emerges, however it may happen, someone always comes along and tries to tell us that it's somehow an illegitimate topic and should be quashed. It's simple folks, if you don't want to participate in the conversation.....don't. But please, don't tell me that I can't. I'll take censoring from the moderators, but I won't from another member. You're allowed to voice your opinion, and your opinion has the same validity as everyone else's. I respect your opinion, please have the courtesy to respect mine. Steve

I can’t speak for anyone else, but if I see something I like, I’m going to say so, whether I like the modeler or not. And if I do, I personally don’t care if they like me or value my opinion or not. If they can’t take a compliment based upon who it came from, that’s their issue. But, in any case, I’m going to voice that opinion and not wimp out with a like button. Nobody ever mandated that we have to respond to every post, so therefore we can only find the time to click on a like button. If you’re really impressed with something, isn’t it worth a “real” response? Whether the person using the like button intended it this way or not, I look at “likes”’ as more of a “I kind of like it, but it’s not worth any effort on my part” Steve

Hmm, more confusion on my last post. I'm confused. Steve

My opinion on whether or not kids become interested in our hobby is, who gives a rat’s ass. it’s not my place to try to convince anyone to become interested, nor is it my job to “save the hobby”. I’m gonna do what I’m gonna do, and so are they. I tried my hand one time many years ago to instill some interest in the hobby into my son by getting him his first simple kit and helping him assemble it, but he not only has no interest in model cars, but also very little in the real ones. We live in different times from when we were kids and couldn’t wait to get our first car that we could baby and show off, but people in my son’s generation only seemed to be interested in something that would get them from point A to point B, and who can blame them with the soulless appliances that they build today. Oh, thank you Bill! More stuff to think about! I think I'm going to skip the stuff at the rear end, but I suppose I could consider the skip plate on the K-member. That one doesn't look difficult to replicate. As far as the reinforcements behind the front wheels go, I considered that, but decided that the boxes already present represented that well enough. I drilled a few drain holes just to make it look a little closer. Steve

Still slowly trying to get some more chassis work finished. First order of business after spending what feels like way too much time sanding mold seams off of a good portion of the parts, was modifying the exhaust system to fit the motor. I clipped off a section of each exhaust pipe and added styrene rod to extend the pipes to the exhaust manifolds. I also really hated the rear "hangers" for the exhaust, so I ground off the molded in "block" and just added a piece of thin rod instead. Probably not exactly correct for exhaust hangers, but I wasn't too concerned with that. I just had to get rid of those huge blocks! ? Steve

I had forgotten that you posted this before my last post Bill, but it's pretty close to my reaction. What I don't get is that if you are truly confused, wouldn't it be more useful to actually "ask a question"? Steve
-
Yeah, I thought about doing that too, but then I decided that it's just as easy to ignore them. Until they start to reveal the identity of the poster of these reactions, they don't mean a whole heck of a lot to me. I can just see them becoming something to hide behind. Steve

I was just going through this thread again, and I decided to look and see what kind of emoticons were being used so far. I had to laugh to myself about some of them. I understand that the options are limited, but it appears that there is at least one of the "like button" users who is very "confused". As an example, in a previous post, I said to a fellow board member that he shouldn't apologize for giving his opinion, and I got a "confused" emoticon. I'm having a hard time figuring out what's confusing about that. I guess you could say that I'm confused about the confusion. Steve

I’ll agree with that. At least this topic has implications of how the forum will work going forward. I can’t get into the threads such as you mentioned above. If I have that much time to spend on something, there’s no doubt that it is time better spent in the shop. It’s funny though how you never see anybody demanding that “enough is enough” with useless topics such as those. I get it guys, before anybody jumps down my throat for saying that, you’re having fun. Well, some of us have fun discussing topics with a little more substance. Steve

No need to apologize. After all, that's why we're here. To offer our opinions on a given subject. We all get to have our opinion. Steve
-
Ooof! That would open up a great big can-o-worms, wouldn't it!! Steve
-
I think this is about as relevant a comment as we've seen on this thread so far! Steve

Just remember that this interior was designed around the Revell Charger floor pan, so it will fit perfectly on the Charger chassis. I have no idea if it will fit well with any other chassis or not. Also be aware that some modification of the chassis and drive train will be required even if you do use the Charger chassis. Wheel base between the Charger kit and the Coronet are not exact matches, and I elected to widen the rear axle to fit better in the Coronet as well. Steve

Before I get too many requests for the 3-D printed grilles, let me offer this information. The grilles that I have were graciously given to me by fellow forum member Dominick Gerace, (Superbird McMonte). He is the one printing these grilles, so while I'm more than happy sharing what was given to me, I'm sure that Dominick would be happy to work a deal with you. All credit for the workmanship and crafting of these grilles needs to go to Dominick. Steve
