1/25 Jeep Gladiator
mikemodeler replied to Casey's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I will be watching this! I have had one of these kits for the longest time, this could motivate me to get building on it. -
Dang it Chuck, you've been reading my mind again, that is what I was thinking of doing with one of my Broncos!

69 COPO Nova (UPDATE - COMPLETED & UNDER GLASS 1-5-17)
mikemodeler replied to lghtngyello03's topic in WIP: Model Cars
That is a great looking start Scott, can't wait to see it at the show in January. -
Danny at Scenes Unlimited recently added some lug tires that might look better on this kit. I will be placing an order soon as I have two of these kits. The Suburbanite tires are fairly undersized but might work, will have to check. Considering the wheel covers are too small for the wheels in this kit, it might be best to order a set of wheels to go with the tires when you place an order with Scenes Unlimited to insure everything fits/works.

1965 Econolines
mikemodeler replied to fairlane1320's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Jimmy Flintstone was at the Atlanta NNL with his version of the mid 60's Econoline and the rear of it looked off compared to the picture here of the RMR resin body. That should build up nicely. -
1968 Chevrolet El Camino SS Soap Box Derby II
mikemodeler replied to regular guy's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Don't believe you can. Your best bet is to offer to trade someone for it once the kit is out, there will probably be a couple of people only interested in the El Camino kit. -
Smooth trade with Mr Obsessive (Bill Geary) trading off some tires and wheels each of us were in need of.

The axles in the Mad Mudder were designed to stick out past the fenders so unless one builds some big flares for the wheelwells, swapping in the axles from the plow truck is probably your best option. If you use the engine from the Blazer, a different set of exhaust manifolds and an exhaust system will be in order, along with the aforementioned hardtop. Seeing how I am going to be raiding a plow truck for some parts, I might have to see if the above is possible and I just might have another WIP on my hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was a Nova and a Camaro in that color on the tables at this weekend's NNL in Atlanta -
Happy Birthday Carl! May the plastic gods bless you with more styrene and time to work on them!

10th Annual Hope it Don't Snow Show & Contest
mikemodeler replied to Drgon63's topic in Contests and Shows
Picked up the flyer in Atlanta yesterday! Looking forward to this show. -
The Revell Mad Mudder kit is closer to a full detail kit but it needs a few things to be built stock. No top on the Blazer and the hood has holes in it for the exhaust. I haven't check to see if the drivetrain and hood from the GMC Plow truck would work, but it's a start. I thought someone offered a resin hard top for the Blazer, can't remember who.

That looks like a nice start to what should be a great model. -
Very nice! Well detailed and looks like the real car!

Much like Kyle Petty, the shadow of his father was much too big for him to ever step out of. I would like to think Dale Jr might have achieved more in his career had his father not died when he did.

Chevy Stepside 4X4
mikemodeler replied to RAMBENNA's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
very nice, well detailed and excellent paint! -
Outstanding work on those two and as previously mentioned, incredible detail and paint work! I continue to find it impressive when a builder in a far country nails the details on a model from the US!
-
I am liking this build but I have to admit I think that wing on the back looks like something right out of a Pep Boy's store.

Lord knows he isn't hurting financially, has his hands in multiple businesses, and doing TV is a natural for him. I know he wants to race, but it will be up to his doctors if he gets in a race car again. I would welcome him taking Darrell Waltrip's place on the Fox broadcasts, after 16 years I am tired of his Boogity schtick.

Harry, Are you able to wear earbuds or headphones? With your vast music knowledge, surely you have some favorite music to listen to to pass the time! I get the whole daytime TV thing, I was unemployed earlier this year and went nuts after the first day I was off!

After trying to get to this show for over 10 years, I am finally going this weekend! Looking forward to spending some saved up lunch money and enjoying the scenery!

Count me in as a buyer if these were Parts Packs!
