Any word on when the service bed version will ship? I know a lot of places have it listed as June but was kinda curious as I have had mine on order since February.

Harry P would be very happy to see your work, and he would chide us for not using these on our builds.

Chinese tariff war and models
mikemodeler replied to GLMFAA1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I will have to disagree Tom. I work for a manufacturing company and I can tell you situations like the one going on with tariffs get the attention and accountants are tasked to provide what different scenarios will impact the operation. They might not want to sound the alarm, but companies who rely on product from a foreign country monitor these situations very closely. -
Revellogram Blazer questions
mikemodeler replied to rsxse240's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The 2wd Chevy stepside Revell kit is not an accurate representation of a correct chassis. The AMT Blazer kit (snap kit) has a more accurate body and includes the roof. Someone once cast a resin roof for the Mad Mudder, but I believe they are out of business. Not aware of any kits that would have a roof for it. -
Chinese tariff war and models

Lot's of speculation but nothing really substantial from people who work in the model industry, hopefully someone will chime in with facts and useful information. -

Was at Hobby Lobby today, shocked to see the current Revell 57 Chevy Snap Fast kit, which has been around for years, in new box art with a price of $22.99. Yes, 40% off will work, so the kit becomes $13.79 plus tax, but considering it's shelf price has go over the $20 mark, what does that mean for the rest of kits? The AMT Coca Cola 57 Chevy Cameo is $32.99 and you can bet that increase is due to licensing fees. It would be nice to have someone from a hobby distributor or manufacturer chime in and let us know what they are seeing as possible price increases. At this rate, I might be better off NOT selling any more kits, I might need them to build if I can't afford to buy new releases. -

Just curious as to how the effort is going to get the magazine back ? Gregg seemed pretty stoked about being able to get the magazine going again with some support, which unfortunately for me is a little too rich right now but I hope to be able to send in some money later this year. Sure hope he is successful, I know a lot of people are pulling for him!

Not sure I understand your statement Tom. There are two panels there because one is for the left side and the other is for the right side. Yes, the originals were modified for the re-issue with the half cab. -

If I were you, I would wait for the magazine to come out and buy it then. Given the past history, you would be money ahead, just my opinion. -

Not sure but on the home page for MCM there is a post office box listed in Hawaii for a mailing address. If you don't have a PayPal account, I am sure Gregg would take a check or money order for $150 lifetime subscription. -
Not sure if it's still around, but there was an old school hobby shop in Kenosha called Don's Hobbies. I think it was near 63rd St and 22nd Ave. He had models stacked and priced cheap. Nice old guy, I am sure he has since sold or closed it but worth a look next time you are in Kenosha. If you can drive to Milwaukee, The Model Empire is a cool place, lots of old kits as well as new issues. It's down the street from the State Fairgrounds in West Allis.

Hobby primers are packaged in smaller cans and therefore cost more per ounce. As with any paint, light coats are easier to deal with than one heavy coat. Trial and error will help you learn how to apply primer and determine which one works best for you. On a side note, if you haven't already discovered, some of the Ace Hardware stores in the Waukegan area have models and supplies. I grew up there years ago and remember when there were hobby shops and models could be found EVERYWHERE in town!

If this was after they announced their retirement, then it was understandable as they got inundated with orders and their turnaround times jumped. I did wait for my final order for a year, but it was communicated well by Carol. They demonstrated for years the proper way to run a business and I can't recall ANYONE having a problem with them. I guess where I was going with this topic is when you order something and then get excuses about why they can't / haven't delivered what you ordered, but gladly took your money. I know we all have things come up in life unexpectedly, but with some it seems like they purposely string you along and despite your frustration, others come to their defense and tell you to be patient. Like my order with Mega Hobby, I knew they couldn't ship my order until they got their order from Moebius and I factored that in when I placed my pre-order. If a logical explanation is either given upfront or once an order is placed, I am of the mindset to believe them. It's when the excuses start and the math doesn't add up that ticks me off.
