  1. Try contacting Modelhaus Tires and see if they have anything that could work. The son of Don and Carol took over the operation making some wheels and tires several years ago and continues to offer the fine stuff Don started way back when. www.modelhaustires.com
  2. The Modelhaus had them in their catalog as well. They are beautiful ( I have a 64 Crew Cab) and well detailed for a resin kit. IIRC mine was right at $100 but well worth it. I have yet to build it as I haven't decided which direction I want to take it.
  3. That is some nice foil work! That car looks fantastic!
  4. That is a beautiful car! Love the details and the color just POPS! Nice work.
  5. Nice job on the Jeep, love the weathering! I have two of those on my workbench to finish some day!
  6. Nice set of models, great paint and details! Is that 57 a snap kit or the glue kit? I have built of couple of the Revell snap 57s and they make nice models.
  7. Another beautiful build Bill, thanks for explaining your techniques. Love how you are bringing some of your old builds back to life!
  8. Thanks for the invite, I will be in Vegas for SEMA / AAPEX Auto show.
  9. I had been selling off/reducing what I had been collecting and was getting close to what I felt was a comfortable stash, but realized I still have too much for what I will likely build. The trouble is that I see resin stuff and new kits and BAM! I am buying stuff I said I wasn't going to! In regards to Modelhaus kits/parts, I have a couple of resin kits and some parts, might sell off , might build, not sure yet. Could I flip them on eBay and make a couple of bucks? Sure, but that isn't why I bought them in the first place so don't know.
  10. Considering what these kits cost, I think if someone offered up that piece in resin they could sell a few to those that want to make it right! Thanks for showing us the right way!
  11. we can hope the extended silence means he is hard at work getting those magazine issues printed as he stated a couple of months ago. I know printing the magazine is not the same as making copies down at Office Depot, but the way Gregg made it sound he had a couple done and just needed to print them and it would be soon. Again, until Gregg stops in and updates us, all we can do is wait and wonder.
  12. Until Gregg updates us, there is no magazine to speak of. It has been a couple of months since any comments from him.
  13. Sorry you find it a disappointment, I just had two more of them delivered this afternoon. If I got caught up counting rivets and worrying about some of the soft details and inaccuracies in kits, I might not ever build a model!
  14. Thanks! I will try to get there early!
  15. Nice build and well detailed, love the color!
  16. I was going to mention that it looked like a Matchbox truck I played with as a child and there it is!
  17. Nice and clean, well detailed and looks like the real thing!
  18. You have to call him and he can update you on what he has. Old school way of doing business but nice stuff.
  19. Thanks Gary! I have already decided to hit the Pomona swap meet on Sunday, and the hobby shops on Saturday. I have to remember to watch my spending , I tend to get carried away! I did see the car show at Ruby's last year when my wife and I stayed in Redondo Beach, will have to check it out again.
  20. Thanks guys, I missed out on visiting Burbank HoH last year, but don't plan to miss it this year! I will also go to Pegasus, maybe they have some cool Moebius stuff to choose from. I have done the Peterson as recently as last summer and I know they change things up, but after doing the vault tour and the museum itself, I will check out other things!
  21. So I have to be in Los Angeles for two weeks on business in October and will have the weekend of October 12-13 to have fun on my own. I have already done the Petersen Museum a couple of times so looking for something new to do. I know there are some hobby shops in the greater LA area, any particular ones I should visit or avoid? I checked and didn't find any hobby shows that weekend and nothing going on at the Pomona Fairplex that I want to attend. TIA for any tips or ideas on things to do besides the beach.
  22. Yes, Gregg was at the GSL selling lifetime subscriptions, trying to raise cash for printing of the mag. His goal of 200 subscriptions was met in June and based on his post in May, once he had raised the money he would have several issues ready to print and we should see a marked improvement in future delivery of the magazine. It has been several months since all of this started and other than a comment from Gregg that he has reached his goal of securing financial backing to print the magazine, there has been no comments or updates. I will leave the rest up to Gregg to fill in on where he's at with the magazine and getting it published and distributed.
  23. Yes, same issue here in NC. Had a HTUSA that was very convenient and I would buy kits and paint there, but they closed up when the landlord decided to double the rent. They would help people with R/C stuff only to have them go home and buy online. Similar problems forced another independent LHS to shut down leaving us only with Hobby Lobby and Michael's stores here in Charlotte. As far as the franchise fees go, it is how franchises work and unfortunately, HTUSA has done themselves a huge disservice by charging what they do as can be seen by the closing of so many locations.
  24. You want I should post pictures of my Modelhaus Shasta Camping Trailer kit?
  25. let's see how this looks.............
