What do you want to see pics of? I have the kit and have opened the box, it is a nice kit. -

Rollbar and lights are in the kit, along with the spare tire carrier for the tailgate. This is a great truck kit and am glad it's back. -
Ordered the pickup from Tower Hobbies on Saturday, was on my doorstep yesterday! Nice truck with some great looking decals.

Where did the vise come from? I like what you have done with this truck, could definitely see a sign painter having Cragars on his work truck! -
Revell 1976 Chevy Step Side 4x4 Pickup
mikemodeler replied to mikemodeler's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Nope. This is a reissue of kit issued long ago under the Monogram label. It shares a lot with the recent plow truck (different bed) and has a nice set of GM Truck rally wheels. It also has a stock intake manifold instead of the silly set up from the plow truck. The decals are very nice and detailed. -
I got this in the mail today, straight re-issue of previous kit with what appears to be new decals including dashboard, interior, seatbelt and wood bed sets! I will be getting to this build later this summer but glad to have this kit again.

Placed some online orders Saturday morning for resin and some kits. Two of my three orders showed up today, one from Rookie Resin and the other from Tower Hobbies! As much as I miss not having a LHS, gotta admit that I spent 10 minutes ordering on Saturday and 5 days later I had my stuff on my doorstep!

Got my order today, parts look as good in person as they do online. Packed well and anxious to spend some time at the bench to get them ready for my 66 F-350! Thanks again Bill, nice stuff you are offering!

I believe the Revell 67 Camaro kit can be built as a 68, just leave the wing windows off. The hood is different (6 square like vents on a 68, ribbed on a 67).

1967 - 69 Camaro Wire Wheel Covers?
mikemodeler replied to crowe-t's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I don't recall seeing them in a Camaro kit, might be some other kit that has something close. -
Not sure how well that would work Al, but interesting ! I have a Foose kit but it's in the way back of my storage area so it will be a while before I could check.

This has been one incredible scratch build to watch. I am in awe of the skill and effort taken to build this piece of machinery! Much like watching Charlie build one of his outstanding fire trucks, this is one that is full of learning and admiration of the passion to assemble something likely never to be kitted or duplicated!

Very nice! Love the engine swap and that paint looks a mile deep!

I just wanted to say that if you have any doubts ordering from this Rookie, you can relax. I placed an order on Saturday morning and about an hour or so ago got a message that my shipment was going out today! Every part of the transaction has been smooth and the communication has been excellent. If the parts are half as good as the shopping experience, I am in for more of whatever Bill dreams up! Keep it up Bill, our hobby needs more vendors like you to help us build stuff not available in a kit. The service level you have started with has been awesome and I hope you can maintain it!

Placed an order yesterday, looking forward to seeing everything in person. Will be building a F-350 , not sure what bed I will have behind it yet. -

Highway thru Hell
mikemodeler replied to dieseldawg142's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
He likely got caught up in a financial pinch and sold off the new stuff to get out from the debt. When he bought that rotator, I though he said it was a $700,000 + truck, so I can't imagine how expensive the monthly payments had to be. Add in that he mentioned dealing with insurance companies not wanting to pay lead to problems making payroll and truck payments and I can see why he dumped the new rigs. -
I did notice on the Tower Hobbies website last night that the re-issued 1976 Chevy 4x4 Step Side pickup is in stock. Haven't seen any of the other online retailers mention it so hopefully it isn't a typo! I ordered one and with my luck it will be part of the re-set at Hobby Lobby and I could have bought it with my 40% off coupon!

How to paint the "tinted section" of windows
mikemodeler replied to 97v8's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
That seems like a steal, considering how many windshields you can do and it's shipped from Japan? If I was that deep into my details on models, I would jump on it. Considering I can barely finish a kit, much less worry about the tint shade across the windshield, I am happy to get the bumpers glued on! -

You are a stronger man than I Andy! I no longer have a hobby shop nearby and have to rely on Hobby Lobby or the internet. -
Check out Scenes Unlimited, I believe Danny has what you are looking for. I have a set and they look good to me.

This is a basic kit but builds up nicely. IIRC it has a nice set of Cragar 5 spokes in it, along with stock wheel covers. The chassis is simple but as has been pointed out, plenty of substitutes to put a detailed one underneath. I'll likely grab one, not because I need it, but because it builds quickly and can be a slumpbuster!

I like it! Great way to build that canopy using the 'Burban roof!
