History of MPC's Dodge D/W Series Trucks
mikemodeler replied to Fabrux's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Check with Kris Morgan at MAD resin, I think he is casting that 73/74 Grille, not sure if it's on his website yet. -
As I wait for Moebius to release the Ford truck with service body, I got to thinking it's been at least 3 months since I pre-ordered them from Mega Hobby and it is probably the longest I have had to wait for something to be shipped. So, what's the longest time you have waited for something you ordered and paid for to be delivered? Try to keep it hobby related!

Acouple of topkicks
mikemodeler replied to signguy2108's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I have a resin Top Kick Cab from P&P resins and that toter home looks cool with that cab. I was wanting to build a roll back with mine but that has given me an idea! -
Left-Hand Drive Dashboards
mikemodeler replied to Gregg's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Ace-Garageguy has posted a lot of information about 3D printing and seems to have some intimate knowledge of processes involved, per chance he can help? -
Chinese tariff war and models
mikemodeler replied to GLMFAA1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The stock market has been down over 600 pts for most of today and nearly 1,000 since last week. Typical market corrections when situations like this come up. The long lasting effect will be if they suddenly raise prices on kits because of the tariffs and then don't lower them once/if the tariffs are lifted. I work in the auto parts business and luckily we do not manufacture any parts in China and therefore are not affected, but have seen some companies raise their prices in anticipation of these tariffs and have heard that they WON'T be lowering prices. -
Based on these pictures I took the plunge and ordered one from Modelroundup last night!

Model Cars Magazine, The Future Ahead Of Us
mikemodeler replied to Gregg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I see some great responses here and can understand the uncertainty in investing in Gregg's plan due to past performance but also can see the need to help get the magazine back on track. I think with Ace's background, he could prove to be helpful to Gregg's mission and guide him. I am sure there are others on here who could help drum up subscriptions and soon we could have MCM back in our paint stained fingers! -
1/25 Jeep Gladiator
mikemodeler replied to Casey's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Reviving this old thread only because Casey had done quite a bit of work trying to correct some of the inaccuracies and wanted others to see it. -
Thanks for sharing, some really nice models!

Model Cars Magazine, The Future Ahead Of Us
mikemodeler replied to Gregg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
To explain my earlier question about "owed" copies, this is what I was referring to. If I had paid for a 2 year subscription two years ago, I would have expected 12 issues when in fact I would have only received 3 and am waiting on the remaining 9. Just wanted to know what the plan was for me to get my 9 remaining issues and when that might be. -

Highway thru Hell

I should have mentioned I was thinking of the LA Fire Dept Wrecker. I wish I had picked those up at HL on clearance for $25! -

Not being a rotator had to save him half a million dollars. Nice truck, not surprised to hear Jamie is running it. -
GSL- any body got some pictures to post yet?
mikemodeler replied to mikemodeler's topic in Contests and Shows
Heard a rumor that Gregg Hutchings made it to the GSL, maybe a good sign? -

mikemodeler replied to dieseldawg142's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If you look at the front view of the truck, there are strobes under the visor and the lamps in the grille are strobes too. That bed looks somewhat similar to the one in the Italeri Wrecker issued back several years ago. -
Hoping that someone has pictures to post from the GSL! I so wanted to go but forces were working against me traveling to it this year.

But what about those that paid for a subscription and are waiting on the magazine? Will they get a copy of the magazine when it is printed? That wasn't very clear in the message posted. -

What about the previous subscribers and the issues they are owed? Will they get the issues they paid for from the past? This is very intriguing, might have to consider it. -
I spot a couple of company names on the side of that car that are VERY familiar to me!
