  1. It's not a song--there's no tune. It's a boring, inane poem with rhythm instruments.
  2. It does, but just a little too "flaky/sparkly." But it's right in the ballpark on color.
  3. So, are you gonna do one for your legendary Movie/TV Cars collection?
  4. I'm even older than that. I remember America.
  5. I notice that my avatar on another forum (where it's hosted by PukeBucket) is now blurred.
  6. That's a great looking Mustang, Randy!
  7. FWIW, I started keeping some rough statistics on this a while back. I've discovered (on both my builds and others) that if you get 5% comments versus views, that's just about average. In other words, if you get 10 comments for 200 views, that's just about par for the course. A build that gets 10% comments for views is really exciting people for some reason. Over 10% and that's something REALLY hot or interesting. Also, some builders/posters seem to get more views and/or comments than others. Just like real life.
  8. Very clean build! I like the stance. It's all very Day Two. Well done and model on!
  9. Today I got a Welly '69 GTO Judge, a Bugatti 55 sports car, and some kind of 3rd generation Camaro. I've already Snake-Fued the GTO and hope to have pics and a review of it up soon.
  10. Sometimes ya just gotta make some lemonade! Drive on!
  11. I had to google it. Have never heard of it, have never said it, will probably NEVER have occasion to say it, so it looks like I never have and never will irk you.
  12. Somebody does a resin dragster body for the Bushwacker Bantam. That might fit, or be close.
  13. The show was at an airport. I think they're rebuilding that airplane, but I didn't look at it at all so don't really know. There was an old T-6 "in progress" near it.
  14. Saw this at a show yesterday. It is as close to perfect (IMHO, of course) as any '32 Ford I've ever seen, either 3D or in books or magazines or on TV. The only change I'd make to it would be to swap the wheels for American Torq-Thrusts, but I could even live with these if need be. SOMEBODY sure does have good taste!
  15. Ooops, redface! You did what you were supposed to do, and I dropped the ball. My sincerest apologies, old friend!
  16. I'll offer suggestions that can be done on the completed model, such as black-washing the grille or detail-painting the wheels and things like that. But I'll bite my tongue and NOT post something like, "Dude, this could have been a superior model if you'd just taken a half hour or so and knocked off all the ugly mold parting lines." (And have done so many, many times.) In that case, I just won't post anything.
  17. Mark, if you have such a project in mind, I'd be willing to swap you one of these for a current-reissue chassis. But I think I'm gonna put one under that Paul Sable Henry the 8th Mustang I restored, because it seems to have an incorrect MPC chassis under it now.
  18. I think it might be this one: https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fi.pinimg.com%2Foriginals%2Fc5%2Fe4%2F29%2Fc5e429d5409b79f0fa8b87513975abc8.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.pinterest.com%2Fpin%2F152770612344474569%2F&docid=miKMJwbT3CTN8M&tbnid=SQlVDf9UDtrsiM%3A&vet=12ahUKEwiGmciR-MHkAhWBHzQIHQ9BAso4yAEQMygDMAN6BAgBEAU..i&w=1000&h=605&bih=857&biw=1636&q=diecast 1%2F24 bugatti&ved=2ahUKEwiGmciR-MHkAhWBHzQIHQ9BAso4yAEQMygDMAN6BAgBEAU&iact=mrc&uact=8
  19. There's a difference between the two. The '67 Goat, bad as it is, is the only game in town, and if you really want a nice one, you can kitbash it with a Revell '66 to get one. There's no excuse for the wretched backbirth old MPC '69 Camaro, though, with the Revell kit being better in EVERY way. (Well, the AMT/MPC one does have the SS hood, which is fairly rare, but didn't at least some Revell issues have that too?)
  20. It's red and black. I don't remember the model number but I just googled the 55 and that's at least in the neighborhood of what it is. I didn't see the BBurago name on the box, though of course it still could be. It seemed light, like maybe there's a lot of plastic in it. Whatever, it's cool, and will look good on the shelf. Will let you know and/or post pics as soon as possible.
  21. Local Toy Show Day! Ooo-eee, I spent a buttload of money but got some good stuff. Pics will have to wait till I can sneak them all in the house past The Lovely Mrs. Snake, and I might not even remember it all, but here's what I can recall offhand: *Unbuilt, in-the-box MPC '76 Vega, $15. *Some kind of old Bugatti sports car, diecast, 1/24, pretty cool looking, new in the box, $5. *Franklin Mint '70 Chevelle in dark blue, $20. It's missing one of the front fender caps but I'm pretty sure I can harvest one off a Monogram body and fix the thing. *Reissued MPC '75 Vette roadster, $8. It's worth that just for the wheels/tires and aluminum injector stacks (I made sure they were all present). *Some kind of off-brand diecast 3rd Gen Camaro, #10. Got a lot of goofy stripes on it, and it might be a hair undersized, maybe 1/26 or so, but I've never seen another diecast 3G Camaro and I can do SOMETHING with it. *Started, half-built AMT '66 Nova pro street with a fairly decent purple paint job. I'll treat it like a glue bomb rescue, finish it off, and have it on the shelf with just a few hours work. Easily $10 worth of fun. *Glue bomb Monogram '66 Chevelle that I need the complete engine from to finish off my stalled Bring Out Your Dead project. The engine stuff I need is all here so it was easily worth the $5 asking price. *Bag of random engines, 8 or 10 or 12 of them. The one that caught my eye was some kind of 6-cylinder with tube headers! I can use that for SOMETHING! (Anyone know what that might be from?) There might be a couple more usable things in there, too. And then I stopped at Rite-Aid and scored a new Welly '69 GTO Judge I'd never seen before for $10. It's a dark red or maroon, has exposed headlights, and might be a little undersized--like their '68 4-4-2, '71 Chevelle, and '65 Riviera--but it'll look just fine sitting on the shelf right next to them. Pics when I can!
  22. Thanks MC and Jeffcad! I never see pristine or boxed ones. The ones I see are usually in "played with" condition, often dirty and slightly scratched and maybe some minor breakage such as a vent window frame or a chipped tail fin, or missing a tire. They're exactly the kind of thing I'd buy if they were Chevies or Pontiacs as good candidates for restoration or rebuilding (abandoning all collector value, of course) as shelf models. Asking prices seem to be in the $20-$45 range. I was interested in knowing if they're worth that to anyone here; I'd be glad to pick them up and make reasonable trades on them. Just got back from the show, no Caddy promos this month.
  23. I'm pretty sure all those early AMT AWBs had the same wheelbase, except of course the Barracuda.
  24. Sweet! I picked up a couple AMT early Corvairs earlier this year and am looking forward to getting into them.
  25. Under IPMS rules, that wouldn't be allowed. Model Car World tends to be ruled by more local rules, which might be stricter or looser. That CAN be fixed, but as you said, it would take some time.
