Tomorrow's the monthly local toy show. From time to time I run across JoHan Cadillac promos there, and always pass because I have no interest in them. But I know others here might be interested, and I might be leaving some screamin' deals on the table. Can anyone give me an idea of what they might be worth, by year, and if anyone here is actually interested? Thanks!

If you're casting a hood, I could use one for the above. The hood is the only major piece I'm missing. In fact, I think all I'm missing to build TWO of them would be one more body shell and two hoods.

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!
Snake45 replied to Snake45's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I don't have you down as registering for this round, but you did have this one registered for Round 3, and since you've been a good friend and active participant of the BOYD builds, and since we don't have a single completion announced yet, I'm gonna register you retroactively and declare you FIRST COMPLETION! GOTTER DONE! BOO-YA! -
The '66 Mustang "junkyard" I just bought on eBay seems to have a number of Sonny & Cher parts included:

I got one of these today. Looks like it shouldn't take too much Snake-Fu to be shelfworthy. With a little luck, I can get it done tomorrow.

Here's the rest of my original post, which I had to delete because I kept getting 404 Error. Let's see if I can post it now: Didn't work. Let's see if PART of it will work. So that didn't work, either. Let's dispense with the second paragraph and see if the third one will work. So this lets me leave my already-owned '66 kit, near NIB, unbuilt, and using all this stuff (plus maybe some extras from the common repops), I can build a very nice stock '66 convertible AND a period, kit-stock custom with the cool half-top. Might even be able to get TWO period customs out of all the goodies. Looking forward to it!

Bought this on eBay this week. Was sold as "Open box, parts off trees, not sure it's complete," etc. Pics weren't good but I could see a good unpainted body, the rare custom half-top, and the chrome tree with a lot of good stuff still on it, so I took a chance.

If you buy it and bring it home, you're going to feel ripped off. Pretty box, though.

Don't waste it on that. Someone does that in resin.

The bottom of the box shows 8 tires, no slicks. The wheels in the last issue of this kit were two slightly different sets of "American-ish" wheels. They're not great, but they're usable--just not on what you'd consider a really good build.

The JADA name on the box was fair warning. Virtually all their stuff is way oversized.

At least the real models are right up front for a change. And there are several I'm actually interested in buying.

Good! I need another one to do Landy's.

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!
Snake45 replied to Snake45's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Brutalform, can you get one of them done in 3 weeks (by the end of the month)? Pick one, declare it, and join the build. GITTER DONE! -
Of course you're interested! Grab them ALL!

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!
Snake45 replied to Snake45's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Drive on and finish it up and put it on your shelf and declare victory. You can always come back and do the red later. If I wanted red on that one, I'd do it with red stripe decals. Somebody used to make these...ScaleMaster, maybe? -
I built one of those, a reissue, about 20 or more years ago. It came out real nice. My only complaint was the rear tires look way too small. I should dig it out and see if I can find something meatier for it.

How high will it go?
Snake45 replied to Brutalform's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Me too. There are many paths to the top of the mountain. -
This is not my kind of thing AT ALL but for some reason I really like this one! Maybe it's the color combo, maybe it's the sit of the body. You've got me thinking about maybe trying to do a '40 Ford street rod with the body placement and sit of yours. Well done and model on!

Very nice, very clean build!
