  1. Beautiful! And I don't even particularly LIKE these things.
  2. That green 1G Camaro looks interesting. Is it "rescue-able"? Would love to see you do something with that. (Or would love to just see more pictures of it.) Also, do you have any plans for those Monogram '66 Chevelles? My own, which I was working for the last round of BOYD, got stalled after painting due to missing engine and chassis parts. I was gonna look for a glue bomb Monogram '64 GTO at the next toy show (first weekend of August) for a chassis; I see you have one of those here, too. If you're interested in working out any kind of deals, email me at SnakeACP45 at AOL dot com.
  3. After a certain amount of google-effort, that was the only US source I found.
  4. I've been removing parts from sprues with a regular Xacto razor saw for about three decades now. I'm sure these will be even better. The curved-edge saw seems like such an obvious idea I'm surprised that there haven't been MANY of them on the market for years. I tried to make one some time back by grinding teeth on the edge of a scalpel-type blade with a Dremel cutoff wheel. It kinda sorta worked. I ordered THREE sets of these because, you KNOW, if something's any good, they'll stop making it. Thanks again for posting these. By this time next week you could very well be My New Favorite Person.
  5. Survey says: Grotto Blue. https://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_230235-Chevrolet-Camaro-1968.html
  6. I have been looking for a curved-edge razor saw like this for YEARS. I just ordered three sets of these. Will let you know how they work. If they do what I want, they will be My New Favorite Modeling Tool.
  7. I was thinking more of a certain '65 Ford LTD 4-door funny car, but that's a cool example of the strange & weird, too.
  8. VERY clean build! At first I was offended by the lack of black body lowers, then realized you went restomod with it, so anything goes. Well done and model on!
  9. Very cool! Do it! I'm not really seeing the direct lineage (visually) between the early biplanes and the Hart, and between the Sea Fury and the Sea Hawk, but if you do, go for it! I'd love to see the lineup. I have two other "Evolutions" in mind: Grumman: F3F to F4F Wildcat to F6F Hellcat to F8F Bearcat to F7F Tigercat to F9F Panther to F9F Cougar to F11F Tiger. I think the jump to F14 Tomcat is then "an evolution too far, " but note how the Tigercat, with its straight wings, pointy nose, and tricycle gear makes a nice evolutionary jump from Bearcat to jet Panther. North American: P-51/P-51A to P-51B to P-51B/C with Malcolm hood and added dorsal strake, to P-51D to P-51H to T-28 to FJ (straightwing) Fury to F-86A to F-86E or F to F-86H to FJ-4 Fury to F-100 to F-107. Yes, I know the T-28 is chronologically out of line, coming along after the F-86, but its tricycle gear makes a smooth visual transition from the taildragging Mustangs to the straightwing jet FJ Fury. (Notice sometime how similar the Mustang, T-28 and FJ Fury are in planform.)
  10. I've never built or even worked on one of those, but I just looked at some of them online and it looks like that would be a suitable starting point too.
  11. You guys really get it! Thanks! From time to time I give thought to building one of these as an AWB early funny car. Ridiculous, right? But not the stupidest thing seen in those days....
  12. I don't like the black scoop-edges on the sides. If/when I build my model of this, those will be body color. (You can put me down for a snapper/curbside kit.) Still don't care for the front end, which looks too much like half of everything else on the road today, but ah shucks oh well I guess that's what cars look like now.
  13. It doesn't take too much imagination to see the embryo of the more famous Hurricane in there. A project I've wanted to do for a while now would be a display called "Evolution." It would start with a Fury, and progress through an early Hurricane, a late Hurricane, a car-door Typhoon, a bubbletop Typhoon, a Tempest V, a Tempest II, and finally a Sea Fury. It's remarkable to watch the gradual, logical progression and evolution of the Hawker line of fighters over this decade.
  14. These are looking great! Drive on!
  15. The JoHan Challenger chassis is much later than the Eliminator chassis. Completely different style. Which Dyno Don Cougar are you doing, the first or the second? I believe both used 1967 Logghe chassis. The first car was originally the STP Cougar, which was kitted at the time by MPC and has been reissued. The second Cougar was a rebodied Eliminator II '67 Cyclone. Both of these chassis were probably very similar in real life, being built by the same shop in the same year (though they were different colors). I don't know what chassis is in the latest Cougar Eliminator reissue, but if it's the same one in earlier Cougar FC reissues, it'll probably work fine with possibly some modifications to the roll bar. I think I'd just work with it. The JoHan chassis (Javelin, Olds 4-4-2) are quite nice, but it might be a challenge finding one that fits the Cougar body's wheelbase. I'll be following your project, as I'm planning to do one of these cars myself sometime. I'm probably gonna do the second one, and fit the chassis out to take both Cougar and Cyclone bodies.
  16. That's why I never finished mine. Good luck with your project.
  17. Preach It, Brother Mark! Can I get a AY-men from the choir?
  18. "Revell Mustang"? You're gonna have to get a bit more specific, friend. Year and scale would be helpful.
  19. A guy in the next town bought a complete, intact, working, operational MiG-21 for $8,000. It cost him way more than that to have it shipped over here. And will cost him still more to have it brought up to airworthy standards where the FAA will allow it into American skies. Last I heard he was still a long way from flying it, but there's no doubt he has the coolest "Hangar Queen" on the airport.
  20. Yes. It looks like a T-6G/SNJ-5/Harvard IV in postwar US Navy Reserve markings (very interesting), but some random woman with outdated clothes and hair insisted on butting into the picture (pun intended). Would like to see more of the airplane. Her, not so much.
  21. I'm sure this is the case because last year I paid $25 for a rebuildable one (with some work). Soon I'll be able to buy a new one at Hobby Lobby for under $20 with coupon, or, possibly, if I wait awhile, for under $10 on sale. Ain't it always the way?
  22. The very best Cragars I've ever seen IMHO were in the original JoHan '66 Marlin. But these run a close second.
  23. Looking good! Drive on! GITTER DONE!
  24. Absolutely superb work. Model on!
