  1. Very nice! Thanks for the tip about the Fireball 500 grille insert. The original glue bomb '67 I bought is missing that, and I was disappointed to find that the Comet funny doesn't include it, so I actually need two of them. The more I think about this project, the more I'm thinking to just swap the annual glue bomb body onto a stock "new" kit, and then use the "new" body for my EII.
  2. You guys are giving me Eliminator Fever. Since I recently scored a nice restorable original annual AMT '67 Comet glue bomb, I just might convert my Comet funny car back to stock wheelbase and piece an E2 together myself. And, of course, five minutes after I finish it, Round 2 will announce a kit. Y'all can thank me later.
  3. She looks familiar. Isn't she a Campus Friend?
  4. I just start at the top and look down until I hit a "grey" thread, which means I've read that thread, which means I've read everything under that.
  5. Very, VERY nice! One of the best AMT Camaros I've ever seen on here--maybe even THE best. Well done and model on!
  6. Gonna take a lot of money for either a time machine or a re-animator.
  7. That is exactly the reason I stopped watching him in early 2009, after being a fan since the late '70s. And I never watched him again, except his very last week farewell shows.
  8. If I'm not mistaken, AMT had the Chevy promo contract back in '69. At least their '69 models were huge improvements over the '68s.

Not my thing but a VERY clean build that deserves a Well Done! Model on!
  10. Instead of hand-holding the thread like floss, you can also put it in a jeweler's saw or coping saw. Or you can use some imagination and industry and fabricate your own C- or V-shaped frame to hold the thread.
  11. Yup, I mean exactly like that. Why not?
  12. Very nice indeed! You might be interested to know that Shively Motors is still in business to this day.
  13. Come to think of it, it shouldn't be TOO much trouble to move the rear wheel openings back to stock on the '67 Comet funny car body, and issue it with one of their MPC first-gen Logghe frames as Eliminator II, and possibly a couple other '67 Comet funnies. I'd be good for at least two of these, maybe three or even more.
  14. Yup. Amazingly, this works. You won't believe it till you try it.
  15. Man, that is some clean work. You can be proud of this one. Drive on!
  16. Dernit, that's probably it. And we know those molds still exist because they were reissued not that long ago--Blueprinter special, or maybe one of those big sets with the roadster frame, Allison, and so on.
  17. Yes, please. And they can start with the Fiat and Bantam bodies. I'll take a half dozen of each to start. Come to think of it, I believe I still have at least two of the Bantam bodies still in original packaging in the Snakepit. No, they're not for sale or trade.
  18. The more I think about it, the more serious about it I get. I have a '90s or early 2000s issue of the kit. I don't think it has the tonneau cover, or that roll bar, or the center-steer dashboard. Guess I'll have to raid the parts box for goodies. I think I'll go with a 6-71 too instead of the funky kit blower. I'm not going for a box art build, as I don't have that box, but you have definitely inspired me to do the thing as an early/mid-'60s Altered. Thanks again for posting it!
  19. Yay, something new! Looks pretty good, Scott.
  20. Ladies and gentlemen, we are very near the end of civilization...but we're having more fun than humans should be allowed to have.
  21. Very nice! Looks like it was a fun and easy build. Model on!
  22. Yeah. Aren't they just THE WORST?
  23. How about a full-width tube grille, with the headlights--either duals or quads--behind the tubes? I've seen this treatment on some early/mid '60s customs and it usually looks pretty good.
  24. And I bet you'll finish THREE TIMES as many in 2018!
  25. My daughter spent her time and money getting a degree in a similar field, and ending up working for the only employer on earth stupid enough to have a job that could use it: The United States Government. You would throw up if I told you how much money she makes (especially if you happened to remember where that money actually comes from). Hint: It's about as much as three or four skilled people who actually know how to do something.
