I wasted the entire day waiting at the hospital for an endoscopy only for the doc to be defeated by my gag reflex. He tried multiple times but no luck so now i have to get knocked out for it

Kent models are pretty good for these kits, but the japanese shops have great prices. I've seen these kits at 1999.com for as little as $12 each

Straightening old monogram kits
stitchdup replied to stitchdup's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
the roof is 5mm to the left at the front pillars. its been sat on its side for a couple of years so the rear pillar has a slight twist to it as well which is where i'm trying to get squared up. if it was an amt kit the hot water would have fixed it but monogram plastic doesn'e seem to age very well -
thanks, i see a couple of these going in the stash

I was going to build my monogram gnx as a regal but it turns out the roof is slightly pushed to one side. I tried the usual hot water fix but i had to stop as its old black plastic and brittle and made some scary noises. Is there something else i can try before i give up and t top it? I've got a fresh kit coming but I'd like to save this one if i can. Its my own fault for storing the kit on its side

it could be argued the contempory mustang stole its look from the mk2 escort rs2000 -
Luckily the monogram kit has the flares seperate and the spoiler is an easy fix. The hood might bethe hardest to do but since i plan to fit the gnx bulge to a monte carlo, i'll just take care and swap the parts between hoods.

Can I Get Some Help Id'ing This 3D Kit?

It might be a rukkus. Pretty popular with the tuner guys a few years back and i think iceman had it one month -
I'm not too worried about the gauges. I'm going lowrider so the most the interior will get is the dash tag smoothed and the head rests removed and maybe a bright colour. Hopefully the paint will distract from the inevitable flaws as i''ve never seen one in real life. They just aren't common in scotland

To convert a gnx into a regal is it just a case of adding chrome or are there other body differences i'm not seeing? I can live with the wrong engine but theres a spare small block if that changes.

you might find the mdf wears down pretty quick. there is a surprising amount of heat generated by sawing and its enough to break down the glue in the mdf. go with the ply and it will last longer

you could use a leather punch. the one i have has 6 sizes of punch and can be used on plastic too. i find i use it quite often for making fuel caps but theres no reason it wouldn't work on decals. mine cost about 20 bucks from a hobby lobby type shop in the fabric section. its meant for belts but its a great tool for us too

it kinda looks like moisture or dust under the decal.

you are very close to a period of moderation, dial it back. and if your going to use urban dictionary terms, "nuff said" means I've said enough, not you've said enough, its like mic drop -
