  1. You guys have some pretty neat veedubyas
  2. I wouldn't use the dremell, a razor saw/pe saw will cut much closer and you'll have more control.
  3. Have a look at any of Stephen Gunthmiller's build threads and you'll find the answer you need (appologies if I spelt the name wrong)
  4. Since there's been threads for other types I thought I would start one for volkswagen group cars. Post anything from vw, audi, seat, skoda, porsche, lamborghini, man, ducati etc. If its part of the vw family feel free to post it. I'll start with my vw hebmuller. Its built from the bestmodelcarparts resin kit with a tamiya donor and some highlight model studio pe and a coupke of scratch built battered cases Next is a diolex transkit mk3 golf wagon on scale production wheels followed by a c1 old n new porsche I have a load more but I'm more interested in seeing yours in any build style. As long as its vw based so alternative bodies over vw chassis is ok too
  5. theres one of the dauphine on ebay uk just now, its gone above what I'd pay though. Was at 52 quid about an hour ago with 5 hours to go
  6. Me too, but mine didn't have the pop top cos I replaced the roof. Made the hammock a bit pointless though, lol
  7. Nicely done mate, you've got plenty of detail in those tiny cars. When I bought mine I was surprised how small it was and thought they'd put a 1/32 in the wrong box
  8. It look to me like they have a type 4 engine in it which is different to what I had, and the steering column looks bent in the pics. The tow hitch is nice touch though and hopefully the aftermarket will bring out a piece to convert it to the other versions
  9. The revell t2 bus is now available to purchase in europe. I've got mine on the way and will do a full review once they arrive but heres the pics from hannants website and a sneak pic of the camper version coming later this year (i'd expect it before christmas but no official date yet) heres the camper I know I'm looking forward to them arriving, the first one is getting a scooby engine and 17" brms and the other might get mixed with the hasegawa pick up. I can easily see me buying more. I have lots of fun memories of these old buses having owned a proper beater of a camper that ate engines like candy. Not a problem when they were readily available for peanuts and could be swapped in less than 20 mins
  10. Thanks for that, since they're the same I'll get the cheapest one
  11. I've been looking through my vw stash tonight and it occured to me that I didn't have 1303. I've done a search and 3 kits popped up. Theres one from imai, one from italeri and another from aoshima. My question is which is the best kit. I know their all curbside and dont mind that as its just to fill a gap in my vws
  12. I'm a bit younger than a lot of you guys, so the good ol days for me were the late 90s into the early naughties. I was a keen skateboarder at the time and I worked every hour I could between october and april at any job I could get and usually more than one job. I did this so I could spend my summers travelling to skate all over the country and thanks to this I have friends from all over the world now. It was a lot of fun never knowing where I would be sleeping at night or where I was going to go next. I even had professional skaters travelling with me at times and some who have gone on to win at the x games and similar are still in contact with me. During this time I slept in some strange places, including multi story car parks, abandonned buildings, posh hotels, my car and under the ramps at parks. I really enjoyed this time of my life and looking back now theres not much I'd change about it
  13. If you store your refills and pens away from heat they last longer, I'm still using my first pens. Also if you need to clear it (for handling) gauzy shine enhancer doesn't take away the shine.
  14. These will be very handy for me, I have a teardrop in progress to go with a slammed bug
  15. How does the zero turn steering work? seems like a bit of an oxymoron
  16. Someone told me the best method for stripping resin is to wipe it down with thinners, not the quickest method but it works if you take your time. Just use the appropriate thinners for the paint used. I've used it on a qtip to strip some resin wheels, and I've used la's totally awesome cleaner for stuff that needs a soak. agin not the fastest but it works mostly, just very slow on mettalics
  17. I cant remember the last time I saw a model y soft top
  18. On a ferry
  19. I've noticed JJ handles himself in a very humble manner. He knows how to play the games as wee've seen but when it comes to being challenged he sits on the start and waits for them. In a lot of ways him and Ryan Marting are pretty similar how they handle themselves. It's been pretty good too seeing how much respect there is between the racers instead of drama and I hope it continues in the same way, its kinda refreshing
  20. I've got a bit of a longshot help request for our German members. I recently saw a tempo matador resin build but unfortunatelly all the details were in french. All I could decifer from it was it is cast by a gentleman in Germany so I'm hoping one of you might be know the person and be able to put me in contact with them. I'd really like to add one to my vw collection. I'm grateful for leads that may assist my quest. Thanks
  21. I've currently got 7 tamiya bugs still in the box, but along with that I have 2 built and 3 in progress and I fully expect to buy more of them. I've also got 6 hasegawa and 6 revell split screen vans not counting the 2 in progress and again I'll buy more. Its the same story with the tamiya, fujimi and revell golfs, multiples of each, and 3 og esci mk2 escorts and 2 italeri versions and theres possibly a revell one in the stash too. Heller grey fergie tractors I only have 4 of though but I can see me getting more. The only us car kits I have multiples of are the amt 62 bel airs. All the vw kits will be built and they will all be different to each other but I have an idea to build each of the feature cars in hayburner vw magazine (it only costs postage and is well worth it for the 4 mags a year if you like custom vws) and I'll probably do the same with the golfs and other watercooled vws but from performance vw mag. I can even tell you what my next vws will be, since I've used up my t3s there will be at least 3 added to the stash.
  22. Its a bestmodelcarparts resin trans kit mate, he sells them on ebay but you'll need a tamiya bug donor He does a 57 too
  23. Cool project, these look pretty sweet in vip style
