My custom order wheels arrived from Dimitry at diolex production today. He already does these rims in15" sizes but I asked if it would be possible to get them in 17" for the radas and raiders (both sets of 5 spokes) and 18" for the brms I also got one of the mk2 golf rallye 3d prints which is for the fujimi golf kits And from ARM in france I got a 3dr mk3 golf resin but the rear windows look too short to me

I assure you its not, the guy doing the work is using all the original parts he can. Sure theres a lot of new metal but mark spicer is not someone that replaces the entire panel, he uses the new panels for patches but most is original metal and more original paint than the as found pic would let you think. I reccomend taking an hour or two to read through it, theres much more work than just driving a new one under it

Thought this might interest some of you. This is the second vw samba ever built and it is being restored in a very different way. It was found after being left for decades in a german forest/field so it was in a very poor state. The resto is different to most as they are saving as much original metal and believ it or not paint as possible. In the pics of the resto all the sealing wax red areas are original paint. When you see the as found pics its hard to believe anyone would restore it https://blog.entfallteiledienst.de/ Its a german site but its all written in english

Nice job, I didn't realise the parts to build it stock were included. Still have a soft spot for the euro fords. Is it 1/25 or 1/24?

maybe usps are in charge of delivering them, lol

Non-vented paint booth
stitchdup replied to 69_Stingray's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I think I'll stick with my vented outside booth, the vent is why i have it cos the fumes hurt me -
In what vehicle did you learn to drive?
stitchdup replied to BeakDoc's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The first vehicle I drove was a early 60s fordson tractor. I was around 12 and the lesson consisted of thats the steering, thats the throttle and those are the brakes but you dont need to worry about them cos they dont work anyway. OK I'll see you there.... and the guy cleared off and left me with what amounted to 4 wheels and and engine with a seat rusted on the back. The first road vehicle I drove was a 1971 vw bus that was lhd. Surprised a few farmers whn it would go most places their landies could, and got stopped by the cops loads cos whys a kid driving -
Got another tamiya karmann ghia, unfortunately the roof got damaged in the post but the seller was 100% and gave a full refund. I've also got more tamiya bugs and a revell mk1 on the way along with a 3d printed golf rallye body and some special order air cooled type wheels in larger sizes. Theres a recent arrival foose pick up that came with a nice set of tweezers free from davecoleysemporium ebay shop and a box of goodies from spot model. also a resin mk3 golf 3 door since the one I'm building from the fujimi kit has snowballed into a bigger project and some mr weathering pencils. I think that it for now

If you right click the pic on your host site it should have an option to copy image url or something similar, then just paste what it gives you into the image link on here and it should work

VW T1 ladder truck and bus
stitchdup replied to stitchdup's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
never seen that toy before, do you know who made it? I'd like one for my vw diecast collection -
C1 resin trans kit but I didn't us the interior as it left no room for an engine. Since its a van I used a late model aircooled engine from the t3 bus so its double the usual horsepower for a beetle and a lower engine so the floor isn't too high. Speaking of the floor it a very heavily modifed one from the t3 camper so i could use the engine bay. I've also modifed a set of 70s beetle bumpers to look like early golf gti bumpers. I'm not sure what the wheels are from but they are heavily modified at the rear for maximum dish. Its also slammed but I'm sure you expected that, lol. So thats the 5th vw project i have on the go just now and i think I've managed to keep them all different enough to keep them interesting
-
Very nice, I like the look of the earlier side vents on the late body. I'll probably have to steal that idea from you

Nice project, I think it will work pretty well on the camaro. Are you going for the stupidlong n tall exhausts too?

*Model Car Preference*
stitchdup replied to Zippi's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I build a lot of vws and the whole v.a.g. family of vehicles is my preference. I do build other stuff too and like anything custom. Just now my bench is weighed down with multiple vws but I have a speedboat and some USA pick ups next in line -
Further to my post in what irked you, a few months ago, I am pleased to announce that the local council have suspended charging for new bins. This isn't jus a benefit to me, there are hundreds of other people that now wont have to buy a new bin when the binmen damage them.

off the top of my head this one stands out in my memory
-
I've seen them done with the elements from car headlight bulds and it looked pretty convincing
-
Not at all sir, I havent tried it on resin though so it may soften it
-
Cool car, not something I expected to see as a kit. I find bleach strips the chrome in less than ten mins, and you can pour it down the sink after
-
So along with the 3 bugs I'm also building a couple of curbside t1s. The bus just needs the chrome added and a little more weathering on the soft top and its ready for final assembly. The wheels are brm from uscp and I'm using the ribbed bumpers from the recent revell camper as the smooth ones supplied in the hasegawa kit weren't to my taste and the ribbed ones give it an earlier look Next we have the hasegawa pick up. I was at a bit of a loss as to how to build it different until I remembered I had the turntable ladder from the heller delaheye kit sitting unused (the delaheye is being turned into a car hauler with matching delaheye custom). I am using porsche 968cs wheels and brakes from the hasegawa kit and have lowered it by raising the floor into the body. Since I dont have any older type blue lights I'm probably going to colour some orange ones in red. I got the ladders (over 4 feet of them) and turntable assemled and painted earlier but dont have any pics of that yet As you can see my bench is pretty packed with vws just now
