  1. Its our local vintage club show and this year there was an awesome original 70s custom in all its garish glory and its probably my fav this year. The special displays are vw golfs as they celebrate the half centuary this year and triumph. There should be a lot more cars tomorrow as there was an agricultural show on elsewhere today so a lot of farmers were there. Many more pics in my flickr albums, sorted into the different groups - https://www.flickr.com/photos/111449995@N04/albums a few pics from sunday, much more at the above link. i think my fav today was the ford saphire cosworth with an engine swap to the cosworth v6 from the the scorpio and a pair of turbos. a lot of work in the conversion especially to look as factory as this one. I've included some land rover conversion that can be built using c1 transkits and a little imagination
  2. Its car show weekend for me. We're having a display of vw golfs this year for the 50th annivesary and since we didn't have a mk8 i've convinced my BiL to get his all cleaned up and shining like new which took a while cos he had his daughters at the beach last week. I'm hoping theres at least some modified ones since thats what i'm into
  3. I wont post all my pics, some are photoshopped but still cool to my eyes. i havent sorted my classics pics yet but i have a load of modded 60s and 70s stuff there
  4. nice bug,
  5. nice work, I'm sure i'll be printing some of these fairly soon for some of my veedubs
  6. straight from the pages of truckin mag, circa 1999, and a nice job too
  7. I'm hoping some of you might have more pics of this porsche from the recent radwood show in san francisco. These are all the pics i have of it but its one i'd like to build just beacuse its not done in the purists style. In particular I'm hoping somebody has pics of the front end paint. I'll be using a monogram kit for it all pics from speedhunters
  8. oops, i meant email address, my mistake.
  9. theres an address on the box and instructions
  10. turned out very nice in green. i may have to add one to the stash now. If you have a decent art supply shop nearby archiatects drawing pens are useful for the rubber around chrome. They come in sizes down to 0.1 mm and are safe to use under acrylic clears. I'm going to be using them when i do my next mk1 golf as a gl spec. The pens aren't the cheapest but as long as you aren't rough on them they will last a while.
  11. well i'm not very pretty so he's most likelly correct ?
  12. my doctor told me if its not food you smell, then its best to wear a mask
  13. revell have done 2. the unimog is the easier one to find but there was another based on a road truck (possibly MAN) and airfix had one in their bobcat range also based on a road truck.
  14. c1-models have atranskit that would get you close to the land rover. it uses the recent revell kit
  15. blink of an eye- documentary born to race, brabham, brock over the top, california kid, fast company, greased lightening, gung ho, hitlers supercars (audi and mercedes pre war) initial d live action movie and all 5 animated series (extremely well animated and puts the graphics in the nick cage gone in 60 seconds to shame but a lot of its subtitled), lady driver (for kids, herbie but modern) mclaren, american graffiti, more american graffiti, overdrive, queen of speed (michelle moulton doc) rev, shelby american, speed racer, snake and mongoose, superfast (fast and furious in the scary movie style) supergrid road to death, uppity the willy t ribs story, dukes of hazzard the beginning, and the autobiography tv show is good too featuring stories about the cars in place of the drivers
  16. I dont have access to a printer so I'd be happy to trade some 3d printing for decals if anybody is interested
  17. if you are in a well ventilated room with good airflow you should be ok but its better to be safe than sorry. those paper covid masks are no use, its best to have one that seals your nose and mouth as one, and replacable filters are a good idea, as is size adjusters to keep the seal good. I use one from sealey tools that was around £25 a few years ago and when i'm not using it, it gets stored in the bag to keep it clean. I use it for all sanding, painting and stronger fumed modelling stuff. I have emphysemia caused by working in a bodyshop years ago and i deeply regret never wearing masks then cos its no nice waking up choking so be safe
  18. very nice, looks right at home in with the background
  19. you may have to replace the decals and possibly rotate the tyres to use the inner surface. when you sanded the tyres it would have made the surface contact area no longer smooth so they probably wont be holding on. decals like a smooth gloss surface to stick best, then they can be overcoated with the finishing clear coats in whichever finish you like. I've made the same mistakes and was given this advice by another member and it works for me.
  20. you can get packs of 20 assorted rolls on amazon for less than 5 bucks including shipping
  21. Gotta follow this, and i'll probably end up copying your mods when i build my outlaw
  22. overwhelmed by current events, margaret retired to a peaceful cave
  23. the blackboxstl engine could be a good start for a 356 pushrod engine. it already has the correct shape fan housing and twin carbs. the fan housing is one of the add ons for the base engine by blackboxstl
