  1. Dang...I thought I put the locking hubs on the front...Nice catch. I will try and correct.
  2. I thought about that but I'm thinking more of scratch building a small latch where the bar of the swing arm will physically rest on it to take the stress off the weight of the spare tire hanging on it. That swing arm was only designed to bare the lighter weight of the plastic tire cover on the model.
  3. I need to come up with some kind of latch to hold the swing away spare in place, Right now, all it does is swing away. I also got Tenex glue all over the side windows so I will replace them.
  4. She loved the pictures I her sent of it but she won't actually get it until the end of January. Both my Daughter and her friend are working at Disney in Florida as part of the Disney College Program from this past June until January 2024. The build was fun...mostly box stock with a few mods and a lot of detail panting of even the most minute of details (hinges, Dash Details and so forth). I'm considering doing another one and add some custom work to it. I have 2 more builds in the queue that I want to do first and at the speed I build, it may be closer to 2025 before I get to it.
  5. So 2 months ago, my daughter and her best friend from college were hanging out in the basement where the best friend discovered my chaos that I call the modeling shop. As she was looking around, she came across an unbuilt kit of Revell’s Bronco and told my daughter it was her dream to own a 70 Bronco in a teal blue with white top. She helped my daughter move out of her college apartment, I decided I would build this for her and surprise her. Took me 2 months using Splash Paints Cockpit Turquoise and Insignia White with Splashes 2K Clear over the paint, decals and BMF. I used black embossing powder for the the carpet, dechromed the grill, bumpers and wipers. Rather than using the spare tire cover on the rear, I had a second set of wheels and tires so I pirated one to use on the spare tire carrier. I also wired the engine and added a mechanical fuel pump to the mix with plumbing. It was a fun build and everything fit so nicely. Overall, I like it but there are several flaws. Enjoy the pics…
  6. I've watch a handful of A4's videos that Mike posted. While very informational on how to use a variety of tools and so forth...THIS GUY HAS SOME MAD SKILLS!!!!
  7. Amen, my Brother! I clean to an extent between builds but dang...I need to get some more discipline in my life. I've gotten lazy in my retirement years.
  8. Thank you for the PDF file. FYI...I scanned the QR Code and it took me to the Registration Site for FANJESTIC. Once I created my login, it took me to the next step to verify my account with a Credit Card. The FANJESTIC site is free for 5 days after that you will be billed $49.95 a MONTH (unless you cancel within the 5 days). "F" that! Not this kid!
  9. Rec'd 220 in Central Maryland today! Can someone post a cover shot of issue 219? I'm sure I got it but I can't remember what it looked like and see nothing in my stash with 219 on it. Thanks
  10. Well...I tried the Elmer's/Embossing Powder today and I'm sold! A helluva lot cheaper than and less work than Flock-it with better results! Thanks again, STEVE!
  11. The secret is not to use high speed..I have done it many times at a slow speed (500-700 rpm) on plastic models, diecast cars and more! Yes, you can burn through but if you are patient, the results are worth it.
  12. You'll like this kit...highly detailed with a huge part count especially in the suspension!
  13. It looks like they (Arrowmax) deal primarily with the Radio Control hobby world. For Modeling, however, I played with it to some extent and really quite happy with it. The drill press feature (although a manual plunger as opposed to a lever) works great from what I can see. It hasn't melted styrene that I have seen. I still think it will be an asset!
  14. Arrowmax mini drill/drill press kit. LED Lights, reversible, rechargeable comes with the drill stand and a set of bits. 3/32” shanks which puts it smaller than average Dremel bits. It’ll be great for detail work Got this from Amazon during their Prime day for $90. It was an impulse buy but in the long run…WORTH IT! Pretty impressive! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B3MP2ZWK?ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_dp_W5F469B4ENHTETM448G2
  15. Art? Certainly is! I showed this to my son...he seriously thought it was a REAL car engine! You've got mad skills, Steven... and I thank you as you have unknowingly taught me sooooo much!
  16. Ahhh, FLOCK-IT! No...seriously Just FLOCK-IT! (https://www.flockit.com/) That said, I haven't tried embossing powders...yet.
  17. very nice!
  18. So after a bit of work straightening out a warped body, the chassis/interior and body are now one. There is still work to do (headlights, taillights, rear wind deflector, rear valance, spoiler and more) but for today, getting the body mounted was a major feat! Side and rear windows were mounted. Rear window required to be taped down (below) and front grill work done. Suspension sits a little taller than I wanted but after the body issues encountered, I’ll take it! Engine bay settled into place… still more to do but hopefully, I’ll have this done tomorrow.
  19. Interior and chassis are done… Today I applied Splash Paints 2K clear and I think it came out nice… definitely glossy! So I’ll let this cure a bit and do a little wet sanding (maybe) then mask it and hit the trim. lots more to go!
  20. What is the best method of replicating a vinyl top? I know everyone will have opinions on what is the best way to do it but what works best for you? Some people in my club have suggested using masking tape but that seems like the paper would fail and peel later down the road. I was blown away to see Steve Guthmiller's vinyl tops! So I want to see what others think and the steps with which to do it. Thanks
  21. It appears that's another good reason to use resin/3D printed tires (of which I have become a recent huge fan of!)
