  1. I missed these somehow. Super cool builds! Kinda puts me in mind of a rat rod Jeep I saw at a car show this summer.
  2. I picked up one of those this summer too. Haven’t dug into it yet though.
  3. Nobody to blame but myself for this one. It’s high 40’s today, but I needed to shoot some paint on some small pieces. I stepped outside, shut the door to keep the heat in and sprayed the parts. When I tried the door, it was locked! Keep in mind, I’m wearing shorts and a t shirt as I usually do in the evening when we aren’t going anywhere. To top it off, Sally is in the shower and can’t hear me knocking. It wasn’t too bad outside, but I wouldn’t want to hang out for too terribly long either.??
  4. I’m gonna go with the drill and pin option. Sounds like the best way to go about this one. And it should look much better than my original idea. Thanks much gentleman! Appreciate the suggestions.
  5. Great start so far. Paint job looks awesome. I REALLY like your 1:1! Sweet ride.
  6. This is a pretty minor update, but hey! It’s a little progress. I’ll take what I can get.?
  7. This looks great David! Just about got it under wraps.?
  8. No disrespect intended Steve. I don’t see it as a negative trait at all. Just a different perspective.
  9. Hey I’m stalled on this project and I could use some advice. I need to attach these side pipes somehow. There are no positive attachment points out of the box. I had originally added the white blocks you see on the sides of the undercarriage , and had planned to glue the pipes to them. But the more I look at it, the more janky I think it would look. Any suggestions that would be secure, and look good? Ignore the black on the pipes. I haven’t chromed them yet, and won’t until I figure this out. Also ignore the sticks. But please don’t ignore the whole thread.?
  10. One of the great things about this hobby is that there is no right or wrong way to build. And there's room for all types of builders. Realistically, we probably all have a little of each one of the above types in us. Actually if you think about it, how boring would it be if we all did our builds the same way.
  11. Hey! I resemble that remark!?
  12. That turned out super nice. Very clean build.!
  13. The rivet counter…
  14. Yup. I had one long ago.
  15. Wow, you really brought that one back to life! Beautiful boat. Cool truck too!?
  16. Great looking build. And I LOVE the short story you wrote to go with it. Brilliant.
  17. How’s the steering wheel in your truck kit? Mine was badly bent. I contacted Round 2 for a replacement and they said ALL of the kits they had to pull parts from were bent. They couldn’t send me one.
  18. Great looking build. That color is stunning!?
  19. Never seen this kit before, but it looks really cool. I was in a long slump up to about a year ago. Cleaned my bench of all the clutter, did some decorating, and now I can't get enough time there. I still have periods when I can't get into the groove, but they're much shorter now. Good luck with your build, and stick with it!
  20. Great color choice. And I really like your dash detail. Looking good.?
  21. Awesome job. Glad you stuck with it until you got the results you wanted. Question. What's the saran wrap for? I'm not familiar with that technique.
  22. Looking good Kevin. Can't wait to see how this turns out.
  23. Thanks a lot for your comments guys! I really appreciate that!
  24. I got back to this one for a while this afternoon. Did a little work to the wheels. Like to use a drill on a very low speed to get clean circular lines when doing this type of stuff. wheel backs before… …and after. I used the same technique on the other side. And while I was at it, I did the trim ring on this set for another project. These didn’t come out as clean as I wanted. I’ll think about it for a while, but I might redo them.
