OK, I went and checked for you Mark. Although the front bumper of the Revell kit is about 1/8" wider than the old AMT kit front bumper, the rear Revell bumper is less than 1/16" wider. I also have a rear bumper from an AMT annual, which is different then the reissues and that's maybe only 1/32" different then the Revell piece. The only AMT '69 Chevelle I have unassembled is already converted to a Beaumont so I can't check on the tail lights. But in all honesty, I see no advantage in the AMT kit over the Revell. A lot of the time a new kit will have something that's "a bit off" making the older kit body look better or more accurate but aside from the easily fixed problem with the rear 1/4 panels, I don't see anything wrong with the Revell kit. [and I do like the old AMT kits]

All you need for the '68 to '72 Acadians is the photoetch sheet for the scripts. ,,as for a Beaumont ,, been there, done that.

Steve, could you at least tell us if it will have clear headlight lenses this time? I'm sure that's something we could probably figure out for our selves anyway when we see a pic of the front of the truck.

Steve, what's the blue on the right in your last pic? Looks very close to the color I want for a certain '68 GTO I've been wanting to build. I think it's "Meridian Turquois" but on the show it's always been referred to as just "blue" and looks different in different light.

I think the Model Car Garage PE sheet for the '65 Belvedere/Satellite should have the script you need.

The original stock unibody car was destroyed in '87. The one in the fire was the tube-frame car which was rebuilt and ran 266.2 mph at the retired AFB in Limestone Maine in 2018

Agreed, very nice. I doubt Scott knew the difference in the interior. Probably the guy who he got it from didn't know either. one of the reasons I notice this stuff is I was trained in auto upholstery years ago. Most people don't know or care. As long as it looks the part on the outside, that's "good enough".

Only that's not actually a '68 interior Luc, at least not those front seats. They look like '70 seats. The '68 seats , as all years GTO, have a unique sew pattern. The '68 are the ones in my pic below. I can take a pic of the years I have for comparison if anyone wants.

The '75 would get you really close for the front end, Gary. The only difference between it and the '74 is where the signal lights are. ,, now, the only other thing would be that back window.

As I've said in the attached thread, [with pics to illustrate the differences] not only is the dash different but the sew pattern on the seats and door panels is completely different also. The ONLY parts on the Monogram kit that are "68 are the front and rear bumpers and vent windows. If the manufacturer was to release this kit labeled as a "'68" today , they'd be ripped apart on all the message boards for not having a correct interior. That's probably why it hasen't been re-released in so long. Last time it was released was over 20 years ago.

If anyone really wants one all you need to do is get a Nova kit and the Model Car Garage set for the '68/'69 or '70/'71 Nova. Both have the appropriate scripts for an Acadian. It's all you need as Acadians were only rebadged Novas in those years. BTW, that's an "air box" not real.

Chevy Novas always were known as Chevy Novas in Canada. The Acadian was something extra we had to sell at the Pontiac dealers. "In addition to", NOT "instead of".

The rims on them are 23 mm outside diameter so about 21/22 inch. Not sure on the tires yet. I have some Pegasus ones that fit well but aren't very thick. I have some thoughts though. Might even get him to print out a taller set of tires for them. They were a gift and I didn't even know he was doing this for me I consider myself lucky to get them and have a good friend like that.

At least buddy knows he's making mistakes. Maybe a little more research is on order before someone does a comparo like this.

Sounds great to me. I know you guys like your TY tie-ins, so I have a suggestion. Put an exposed headlight grille option in with what you described for the GTO and you could market a "Republic of Doyle" GTO.

Just read on the other board that these have been announced today along with the Sodbuster '81 Chevy stepside 4X4. I knew the Chevy pickup was in the works but not the GTO and Camaro. Anyone else hear anything about this?

A couple more progress shots. Kelson lent me an original grille to cast a copy from. Looks better in black then bare white plastic. I also tinted the glass and glued it in with minimal glue smears over it. ? The shaker scoop and interior are just taped in place to see how it'll look.

Stuart, just to be clear, you are aware that body is a '30 or '31 model A, not a '32, right? But a model with the '32 body would still be very cool.
