The factory stock and nascar versions of the Matadors were both out at the same time until the stock version went custom. But even then, the custom parts were only substituted for the corresponding stock parts. The body was never modified. It could have been issued as a 2in1 kit if AMT was so inclined back then.

I'll check the front bumper on mine later Stef and get back. Pretty sure the windshield clips are not on the body. Meanwhile, here's a couple pics of my unfinished '74 annual. I added the 1/2 vinyl top.

Don't know if you guys know this or not but when they brought the "Super Cherger" back from being a race car, they didn't restore the wheel openings properly. There should be a bevel around then that was on the original annual kit but not now on the super Charger. I think you can see plainly what I mean in this pic. That bevel isn't on the kit now, just flat right to the opening.

Yes, the tires were definitely the same, nice ones too. IIRC, The wider rear tires and wheels don't fit well on the stock Elky.

The wheels in the Woodie and the Elky kit weren't exactly the same though. The wheels from the Elky are on the '32 and the wheels from the Woodie are on the '36. I also have one of those Elkys 3/4 assembled. It's that weird FI unit that held it up. Never liked the look of that one so I'm swapping it out for a pair of Hollys.

It definitely does but they're not really much deeper then the stock wheel houses, hard to tell the difference unless you have both kits to compare side by side. The bed floor in that kit simulates a wood plank style floor that would be, in my opinion, not really realistic in an elCamino. IIRC, the suspension is a bit lowered too. The supercharged, FI intake, while looking kinda funky, does replicate an aftermarket setup I have seen a pic of in a magazine.

So, the paint is on. Duplicolor charcoal primer with Tamiya TS 51 blue metallic and their clearcoat. Hasn't been polished out yet.

Just details now. The bumpers are on their way back from LMKC and it should be finished up by the end of the month.

Yup, had that happen myself by putting too much clear on at one time. It can also happen when you put a flat paint over a hi gloss paint. BTW, that's called "crazing", not orange peal. two completely different problems.

One problem with that. If SS was ordered it automatically meant a 350 or 398, not strait 6 in an SS.

Got my '68 at a flea market for 5 bucks and my '69 is a 50 buck resin. Reasonable priced ones are still out there.

It goes under the grille of the '67 Plymouth GTX kits. Leftover part on a shared sprue, ignore it.

A set like this works even better but are harder to work with too. IIRC, these are the ones I used on the models above.

It depends on what photoetch ones you get. If you get the simple ones, yes they look flat. Get a good set that's multi piece that you have to bend up they look pretty good. These ones from Model Car Garage look pretty good if you use them the way they were intended.

This is really cool Gareth. Rare to see a couple Charger annuals together like that. [I have a '69 and '70 myself] I think you should take the leftover custom parts and use them on one of the reissue '69s and paint it close to the color these were originally painted.

I bet you haven't seen any of his stuff up close. It ain't as well done as shown on TV. BTW, just for Sh & giggles, I just checked out his setup on Google street view. He's actually standing out in the front yard in the pics! ?

That's pretty neat steve. Must be a tiny motor to fit into the block. I think some of the more knowledgeable Mopar guys will tell you that's a 426 wedge, not a 440 but they all look about the same to me.?
