  1. If thats the curbside kit, it looks pretty darn good.
  2. John, how about a review on that Auburn? Thinking about getting one
  3. I got the Nicholson 61 Chevy, Maverick Dodge and the Snap Willys panel today. Going back this weekend if someone without an Ollies wants something.
  4. Thanks, I'll have to look at it when in hand. The side filler pieces are not even with the bumper anyway, so that is not a big deal. As for cutting and filling.... it is plastic, we do our best to hack it to what we want it to be. LOL. Check my Correcting the 57 Ford thread. Cut sand, glue fill.... Had a plan of sorts and winged it. HAHAHA
  5. From what I gather on the pics, the flat area that the bumper mounts to would need to be cut off, filler sanded and then the flat area glued back in place, further back. Is this what you mean?
  6. long ago I was looking at a vintage kit at a meet, kit was reasonable, but still on the pricey side. The kit was sealed and I wanted to see contents. Seller said, if you buy it you can do what you want. Well, long story short, I said I would buy it, open it right there and if the contents were not as they should be, I wanted a refund. Seller refused, stating opening ruins the value. I walked away
  7. I saw the fender issue also, and as stated, easy fix. I do not have the kit in hand yet and my observations have been from looking at pics. I'll definitly have to look at the bumper spacing once in-hand. What if the filler panel is sanded and the frame just trimmed a little? Just wondering Toss on some Cleveland heads from a Nascar kit. The block in this kit is definitly of Cleveland design. ( See the build thread on this kit) Modify the kit intake, use the old standby "Cobra" style air cleaner. It does look to go together easily, almost as if it started life as a snap kit
  8. I was looking on EB the other day and saw a "Vintage LOOK!" sealed Allison Cyclone, starting bid $80. Next listing was the Allison Cyclone vintage art release for a buy it now of $21.99. Which one would you buy? LOL I scored an Glidden Chief Auto Parts Thunderbird, AMT 70 Mach I, Johan Marlin and a Johan Promo Maverick and a flea market. Total for all 3, $40. Deals are there.
  9. Be super safe. Put them in styrofoam coolers. Put the cooler in a bigger box with mothballs. Keeps the vermin out, models stink free in cooler
  10. Yup, we all have different techniques. I like the red/gray cuz during sanding it helps locate high/low spots also. Odd how you prime a dark blue body with gray and it does not look blueish tho.
  11. Even from the top view with the pump installed it looks to be a Cleveland style block. That's okay, I'll just add Cleveland heads and modify the intake where the water outlet is.
  12. I like to use an initial coat of red oxide primer over red plastic, then gray, then sand.
  13. Nope, that is fine. Well, I find the block very interesting. It looks more like a Cleveland block, but the heads and intake are definitely Windsor. Below is are Cleveland (blue) and a Windsor blocks. Any other opinion on this? I see the issue with the intake Ken mentioned. Assembled you probably will not catch it. I am going to try fit the intake on a Revell Nascar 351 when I get the Torino. THANKS
  14. I will make a list in the future. There are many to get together. I will probably make a new post for it. If you know what you need, send me a PM, I may know off my head if they are there.
  15. Email R2.. if it is a one off defect, they will replace it
  16. This has always been a favorite.... I may need another.
  17. That's cool..... Thanks
  18. Thanks, was just reading the post in the next forum about it.
  19. Bill, have you assembled the block yet? If so, can we get a 3/4 front view? I see something interesting in the instructions.
  20. I'll give it a shot..... THX
  21. I must go off topic for a moment...... 10 pages of "discussion" Awesome
  22. Looking good
  23. Looks really good in those colors. Below the score line on the lower fender should be argent. That actually should be part of the valance. Just an FYI.
  24. That is cool on the distributor, but I'd have to cut it off and install a base and shaft since it is in the front. Obviously a Chevy monkey that did not know better did the instructions.
