Great looking build going on there David. Worked on two of these in 1:1 at the VW shop the white was a very close match to Fords Wimbleton White.

Sad news for sure, really enjoyed his posts.

I just received this in the mail today! 1974 kit 100% complete! I had this kit back in 1975 but it was trashed whole stores in my in laws garage by the wife's little brothers.

Thanks to member Phirewire I was able to finish this kit. It has been a real adventure in parts fitting to say the least. LoL The last thing I did was the roof irons. I sanded them down about 60% and then cut them down to fit the roof better.

Have an acquaintance that quit in January, Said it was just took taxing and stressful. More since the 2020, 2021-22 problems. Working extra hours because of no-shows, called in on days off and working short handed a lot! Things we don't hear about. Said they have people who do this chronically even just announcing they don't feel good and leaving without a replacement so you wind up doubling up what you are responsible for! The real kicker, these ones doing this don't get fired!

The tires and wheels are what came in the original kit. The tires have a plastic piece to achieve a wider look and the lettering. -
Those old two stroke three lung bikes were wild rides for sure!

Finished as far as I want to go. Was an original kit that was an unpainted glue bomb and used parts from a later kit to rebuild.

I would have run my old H2 Kawasaki against the Suzuki any time. H1 I had would hold its own two until it would melt another center cylinder piston.!LOL

I bought a 71 basket case for 100 dollars in the mid 80's the guy had taken it all apart for some unknown reason. I did a quick paint job and put it together one weekend. Was one of the best bikes I ever owned! Rode it for two years until it broke a cam. Sold it for 500 dollars as is. Fastest I had it was 110mph had a shake between 85 and 90 mph that went away above 90. Never figured that out as I didn't need to kill myself so never went that fast again on it. It handled curves great and was pretty quick off the line. I wouldn't mind having one today!

Wonder if he confessed before he went.

I have seen several my first in grade school on the playground using a cardboard box. Our daughter-in-law in Indiana heard all the hype on how animals would react. Cats slept through it the dogs lazed around like nothing was happening and her chickens kept roaming the yard pecking at bugs and grass in the yard. The squirrel kept trying to climb the snlinky on the bird feeder post. Nothing unusual at all. Their kids all had glasses supplied by their school and came home saying it was kind of boring. LOL

I had one and my grandma said I was too old for it and a lot of other stuff gave it to my cousins while I was away with a neighbor to the Winter Nationals. A year or so later was out to my aunts with grandpa squirrel hunting and it was down by a brush pile smashed up and rusty. She also gave them my Matt aDillon six shooter and holster, Wanted Dead Or Alive Rifle and Red Ryder BB gun. Like everything of ours the got, they destroyed them.

We got something like that, I always just delete them and go right to my account to see if there is a problem. Never use any links in emails.

Not an unsimilar experience for us. Wife always looks for that first robin of spring and gets all excited, except this year it was when it bounced off her side of the windshield as we drove to town. Was really windy and a truck went by in the other lane.

Mine is not being able to go to work, miss it!?

Someone out must have built the custom version and has the stock pieces in their parts bin!
