I don’t blame you on the hood Dan. I’ve done a few that I didn’t open the hood and have a few yet to build that I am not planning to open the hood on either. They still make great looking models and the truth is, I rarely look at the engine once they are finished anyway. Excellent work on this one so far!! -

This will be good!! Looking forward to this one!! I’m not sure what was available in the Peterbilt, but 6-71s and 6v-71s were used in road tractors. -

I’m wanting to do something along this line. Not necessarily a Peterbilt, but definitely a single axle cabover. -

They were known as the “Big Stick”. They were also called “Continental beds” as they were used by Continental Truck Towing. Most were very beefy. I read when I built mine that the controls were up at the winches and the wrecker driver actually had to climb up into the bed to operate it. If you will Google “Big Stick wrecker” and “ “Continental Wrecker” or “ Continental Tow truck” you will find more info. I think that there is even a Big Stick Facebook group. -

DRIPTROIT 71 replied to hedotwo's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have a built up 70 if you are interested. They were physical the same as the 69. The only difference that I know of was the marker lights actually had bulbs on the 70 and were just reflectors on the 69. PM me if you are interested in trading. I too had two 69 1:1s and planned to build a model of one of them, but truthfully will probably never get around to it. -
