  1. I had the Olds 403 in my '79 Buick Wagon. Never gave any trouble. Red it is then for the smogger, Big Block. Many Thanks Guys!
  2. Dang it! Stop doing that, guys. Now I want to put those Re-tooled Reactor Wheels from the '49 Ford on the '55 Nomad....I think they'd look great on a Custom Nomad.
  3. I hope whoever has the tooling for these brings them back. They would all make great little "Slump-Busters" esp if they were 2'n'1 kits, with fresh decals.
  4. What would be a good kit to source a Small Block 350/305 engine from? This kit has the early 1970's 454 Big Block, and it is both wrong for '76, and poorly detailed. I'd say the MPC '78/79 Monte Carlo, but those are not really a god candidate as, they are too nice in their own right to be parted out. Oddly, both kits have trailers, though.
  5. Wow, after all the hype that surrounded this kit back when Tamiya first produced it, the kit seems to have disappeared. You seldom see it built. I'll wager that 90% of the PBR kits sold, languish on shelves today. It is great to see it built! Yours has just the right air of daily use. Great Job!
  6. Great Work. I've never seen one of these built.
  7. I had an M-43 Ambulance. That Straight 6 Dodge Flathead was rated (according to the tag) at 37 HP. The Jeep Pick up must have had similar issues. Mine Had Gobs of torque, but was geared so low, that 40 mph was the fastest I could get on the hiway. I have always wanted an M-715. Glad to see your work on this one, Charles.
  8. I found that T-Bone Stake kit in a Goodwill store several years ago. Traded it for something else about a year later. I remember a freind of mine was in the club. He had a Revell (ex-Aurora) Jag XKE kit. I recall that the wheels from that kit had some of the best molding I had ever seen. Those wheels eventually wound up on one of my Hot Rod Kitbashes.
  9. There are some very clever folks in Thailand. I was there in 1987 and really enjoyed it.
  10. I've got one of these kits in the stash. I keep pulling it out and wanting to try building it. I want to just polish the body and hood, and only paint the engine and chassis. Is that even possible, or do I have to paint the body too.?

That 49 Ford is fabulous! Way to go!
  12. Well, Steve, that is great news if it pans out. Nothing would please me more than to Johan comeback.
  13. What a loss for his family. R.I.P.
  14. I think after reading here about Johan for the last few (6/7) years, that all Johan tooling, and Lic are semi-officially dead. No One will come out and say it yet, (Esp. Okey Spaulding) but Johan, it's kit's and it's tooling are gone. The Tooling was some form of Copper Alloy, and had great scrap value, and rumor was many years ago, that the tooling fit only Johan injection molding machines and was too (Small, Wide, Specialized, or Just Didn't Fit) any other machines. Once the company stopped doing their own injection molding that was the end. Not Sure how accurate any of this info is, since Johan is the "White Whale" of model companies. I figure that Johan is Gone. Tooling Is Gone. Any Agreements with Defunct Car Makers are Gone. You want Johan kits. Pony Up for eBay Prices, Resin Copies, or do without. Very Sad. Very Expensive. But, I believe, that absent any other evidence, this is now the true state of Johan.
  15. Careful examination, makes it look like the plastic in this kit is exactly like the plastic in the James Bond kit, right down to the missing roll cage half. Bad Move, Round2. At least makes sure all the parts are there........ I'm not surprised by what is in the box. But, very disappointed. Nice Box Art, Lousy Model.
  16. Cool, Joe. Excited to see where this goes.
  17. Yeah, Jesse, the Red One is better, with the Blower and Pro Stock Hood Scoop. I hope those parts are in the new kit.
  18. Thanks for posting that, Mark. I'd never seen the original part. By 3'n'1, I meant a Stock, Custom, Drag kit, with heavy emphasis on the Drag Portion of the kit.
  19. Steve, others might know, but the Renwal tooling seems to have vanished. I agree, it would ne awesome to see them revived, but Unless Elon Musk, Bill Gates, or Tim Cook have a secret love of old Renwal and Johan kits, both are deader than the DoDo...... Sadly. Beautiful collection of those classics, btw. Feel Free to post many more photos of them.
  20. Nice! Good to see the RR under the tree, too! "Model On", as Snake always says.
  21. Dang it, Keyser! Rat-Cola, now you got me thinking....... ?
  22. John Shoe is correct. Those Toyota's would sell in large numbers, I suspect. The market for them is much wider than when those kits were new. Steve DeLong, the Uncertain T is gone, never to Return, unless Atlantis Models finds it in the pile of old Revell/Monogram tooling they bought. There is a long and very unhappy story behind the that kit. You can probably find several threads here that go into more detail about the history, but suffice it to say, if you want one, just pony up the money and get one. It is one of the very few kits, that seems to be universally accepted that is gone forever. You have some other great pics on your list! The Bedbuggy was teased as a possibility a while ago (3-4 Years?) but has not been spoken of since. It has the only 1/25 scale set of Woodlites, and would be cool to have just for those. The '28 Lincoln has been out within the last 15 years or so, so with that kit and some eBay Decals and gluebomb parts you could cobble up the Goodguys Taxi yourself. Glad to have you here! Alan
  23. It will be good to see the '55 Wagon brought back out. New Decals, Hopefully, 8 tires. Or, at least 4 and a pair of slicks. It will be interesting to see what parts/wheels get included in the new release of the kit. I hope the emphasis is on the Drag part of it's heritage rather than the stock version. It will be marketed as a 2'n'1 kit, but I'd really like to see it done as a 3'n'1 with Two Full sets of tires (Stock & Custom, plus a set of Slicks), the new-ish Surf Boards, and a some restored parts, or some newly tooled parts, thrown in. Either way, this kit will sell in huge numbers, as it has been awhile since it was out, and just fresh decals and pad printed tires will move the needle for many potential buyers. This and the '49 Ford, are perennial best sellers, and will be again. Good Job, Round2!
