Tom, I hope you have a Racer's Wedge build started to hold this car. The combo is a guaranteed winner at Almost any show. It is something else! Fabulous Detailing. The small bit & pieces on the front, sell the whole thing.

Neat Build of an almost forgotten kit. I know, I've never seen one before! Really Sharp Build.
-
Truly Awesome build Dan! The stripes really set it apart from other rigs.

What an Awesome Save, Tom! There are pics at the Gasser Madness site, of cars that had the Swiss Cheese treatment done to them, just like this model. So, this is a completely Legitimate build for the day. The OB could have seen real cars exactly like this.

Somebody on the board was casting this kit within the last 3 years or so. I remember talking to him by PM and wanting to order one. The idea of putting both kits in one box,is, I think, the only way to justify trying to sell or run the kits, here in the third decade of the 21st century. Both cars are over 110 years old, so the appeal IS limited. But, as has been pointed out, ICM is having much success with 1913-14 Model T Fords, so there is a market. But, If I were to be in charge, I would surely try to put some options in the box. Black, Red & White Pinstripes for the Stutz, along with Some Pre-WW1 Racing Numbers. (Pre War Fonts are very distinctive). And, some instructions on how to Build the Stutz as a Fenderless Racer. For the Thomas, It's hard to come up with options. Best I can think of, is Shiny and New at the Starting line vs Weatherbeaten and Worn in Paris at the end. Maybe, an attempt to build it as a Fenderless Racer also. In other words, the Racer variants would be taking parts OFF the kit, rather than tooling up anything new. It would be nice to have some tread and sidewall names on the Thomas tires though. They are smooth, featureless blobs now. Simple Inner tube like donuts. Some detail would really help. I think a "One Run of Fun" deal would be the best way to sell some, and maybe only run 1500-2000 kits, if that. I'd give my Left #*t to work on these kits to get them ready to market.

Put the Thomas and Stutz in a double kit box. Sell as a pair. Generally, anybody who wants one, wants the other. Put Black, Red & White pinstripes in the Stutz kit, and maybe try to add some fenders to the Thomas for "Stock-ish" look. Even just a spare set of Stutz Fenders might work, as per a Dean Milano Conversion 33-35 years ago.

any rumors regarding the AMT '64 Comet Caliente?
stavanzer replied to Motor City's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Ya' Know.... Round2 Could pair this Comet with a trailer, and either the Cyclone or Cougar Funny Cars, and have another All FOMOCO Racing Set. I know it would be going back to the same well twice, but the Cougar would sell well, I suspect, as it has been awhile since it was out. Throw on a bunch of Snazzy New Decals like they did for the recent Galaxie /Falcon kit, and it might work quite nicely. For little tooling cost. -
And here are the directions for the ACCelerator kit. Looks like lots of parts are shared between the two kits. There could be some VERY interesting plastic in the box. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/1-sort/amt-ac-celerator-co/?view=roll#1

Now to see what is actually in it! I don't remember that exact hood in any Vette kit from AMT, but I am not an experten on Vette's.

Thanks, Dennis. Thanks for the Info, Tim.

Thanks for responding so quickly, Tim. I look forward to the various efforts that are happening regarding reviews of this kit. Alan

I'll throw this out there. Tim Boyd, would you be willing to do one of your patented reviews of this kit? Would anybody be willing to help get a kit to Tim to review, if he says "Yes"? Tim's reviews are comprehensive and come with a full helping of historical background. This kit deserves the full treatment. I think Atlantis has a HUGE hit on their hands. I suspect that many, many modelers will be purchasing this kit in multiples, rather than singles. There will be many scratch building and kit bashing options with the parts in this box. Thanks.

Is the Front Mount Blower the only engine option on the Revell 283? Thanks for the excellent photos, Jason.

What if? Butch Leal "65" Ford Thunderbolt S/S
stavanzer replied to magicmustang's topic in Drag Racing
Fine Build! You really captured the look. -
Amen, Carl! Or at least the boat and trailer. They can put it with the Bronco, for all I care. However, not sure if Revell or Atlantis has the tooling now, and no good way to find out.

Here is the link to the Drastic Plastic page for the '37 Chevy. Pick your poison. There is even a copy of the Salt Shaker, Bonneville Coupe build. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/chevrolet/1931-1940/

MPC dodge pick up 4x4
stavanzer replied to happy grumpy's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
You sure turn out some great builds, Mario! The work you do is top notch. This Dodge is a textbook example of 'How To Do' weathering on a model. -

A tip about the back-up camera. Since it only works in reverse, I will sometimes drop the gear into reverse quickly at a stoplight, to check on the car behind me. People are tailgating at stopsigns now, and it is a fast way to see how close they are. You have to have your brain in gear tho, as you don't want to leave it in reverse. I just have a quik pop in gear, and then it is back to drive. I find the backup camera to be useful, and my old whiplash injuries make turning to to look both ways, a lot harder now. But, like many here, I'm old enough that the "looking over your shoulder to back up" habit is a permanent part of my driving skillset. I'll agree that parking lots are dangerous now. I had my 2015 Hyundai squashed by a guy who claimed to have never seen me behind his car., But, he had to walk around my car (parked directly behind his. I was waiting for a space to open.) to get into his car. So, He walks around my car, slings his stuff into his trunk, get into his, and backs out, right into my drivers. I had no place to go, as I had other traffic boxing me in. At least the insurance paid with no problems.. I blame some of this on poor parking lot design., Smaller parking spaces, the use of the dreadful "straight thru" slots, instead of angled spaces, and narrower lanes, all contribute to over crowded lots with poor traffic flow, and long wait times. It is not helped by rude people, who just load'n'go either. I've watched couples have a full blown fight in the car, with it pulled halfway out of the slot. Thus, blocking everybody. Consideration for others, seems to be evaporating away. Rudeness, inattention, (or worse, Sheer Bloody Cluelessness), are on the rise. You should not Text and Park, but I see it all the time now.
