  1. Mike as far as I can tell from Faust's review, there is NO Wankle engine in the kit. By all appearances, there has not been one since about 1974.
  2. The ones in the AMT 39/40 Ford Sedan, look like the ones in the Ala Kart as well.
  3. I have a set of Rommel's Rod tracks you can have. They are a bit large, but you can probably shorten them. Send me a P.M. with your addy. Alan
  4. Chris, I have that MPC "Graffiti Kit" It does have crudely molded versions of all the body parts you need. The Fenders , both front and rear are in the kit. However the mounts for the front are both clumsy and fragile, and could be frustrating for a newcomer. The cut-down grille shell is in the kit with a separate insert. The real sticking point IMHO, is the lousy small block engine. The kit would have you use the pair of 4 barrel carburetors and odd looking tunnel ram that were an option on the original Switchers kits. That is totally wrong for the Milner Coupe, that had a Four Carb manifold, with four single barrel carbs. It looks like nothing in the kit. Fix the Intake/Carb issue (as it is the most prominent detail in the kit) and you can probably live with the rest. As far as the intake setup goes, the Revell parts pack Cadillac engine has the 4 deuce intake and carbs There is an excellent article by Randy Hartman in the December 1996 issue of Scale Auto Enthusiast. He builds Milner's coupe using the AMT 5-window body. He shows (in great detail) what it takes to convert the MPC kit to a fairly accurate replica. Lots and Lots of work in his build. But the end result is awesome. Hope this helps P.S. I have the MPC Milner Coupe/Graffiti kit in the garage if you need me to look for anything.
  5. Bill, You might be correct about the scoops, but I withhold judgment until I have the kit in my hands. Given the level of effort put into this kit, I'm not sure that there is much chance that an error would not have been found and then not fixed. But, We'll just have to wait and see.
  6. Some thing very similar to the Zoomie Headers in Zot's post is in the "Smokey the Convoy Chaser" Dodge Dart kit. You might look there for some. They should have been in the 1975 Dodge Dart kit that Round2 had out a couple years ago, but I never got the kit. I did not see them on the bottom of the box in the parts layout. I have no idea why Round2 would not have thrown them in.
  7. Scott. The Box and Chad agree. The Nova can be built stock. If the 1980 Volare/RoadRunner is any kind of predictor, the kit will be exactly as it was last run, with only new tyres and a new decal sheet. Which, if you know what you're in for, is great. I had a couple of this kit the first time around in the 80's and really liked it. There is talk here in other threads, that the engine is more Pontiac than Chevrolet, as the base kit this one was derived from originally, was a Ventura. Comparing the instruction sheets over at Drastic Plastics this does indeed appear to be the case. This is no big deal to me, but might bother others. I've already started on my Volare. I may need a couple of these Nova's.
  8. Great Pic, Jesse! Makes me laugh. Does not look like the blower belt even spins. Wow. You can see how heavy even the fake is by noting how stout the aluminium bars are that it hold it up. Got any other shots like that?
  9. Dummy Blowers are nothing new in Movie Cars. The Falcon in Mad Max always had a Phony Blower. With an even Phonier Clutchable Drive Belt.
  10. Hobby Lobby was blowing these out last week for $17.00 each. I did not get one. Based on Tim's excellent review, I decided that after having built models for Thirty Years without this kit, I could continue to live without it. Not Knocking the kit or Tim's review, just sharing on how valuable Tim's work is for driving purchase decisions.
  11. Yeah, This is on my Wish list. But I have the MPC 1980 RoadRunner to work on right now, so it will have to wait. Great Review! P.S. Checking the entry at the Drastic Plastic website shows that the box art for this kit is a "nearly" word for word duplicate of the original 1975 kit. Enjoy!
  12. Heck, back in the day, when I was turnin' wrenches, I put directional tires on a real car the wrong way. I was just slamming the new tires on the rims. Not paying any real attention to the details. Luckily, another Tech noticed the error before I got the car off the hoist. I did have to pull off two rims, and remount the tires though. Lesson Learned.
  13. It sure Pops in that colour! I like the Rear Tires. Looks like what I used to see around here in the 1980's.
  14. Wow, Chuck. Most outstanding Build. As others have mentioned, the paint and finish are superb. The Turbo is very neatly installed. Great Work on a new kit, and a huge inspiration.
  15. Now, That is just the Picture of Cool! Edsel Longroof. Too bad We can't get Round2 to tool up this body for the Excellent Edsel kit.
  16. I've seen some Merlin and Allison Blocks painted Gloss Black. That would be my choice.
  17. And How soon do you think we'll be able to buy resin copies of aforesaid Torque Boxes from some enterprising Caster to install on all our other Hemi kits? Fairly soon, I'll wager. Any Engine Assembly Directions yet?
  18. To Chuck and the Moderators. Fine. Move or delete the post. Me, I'm happy about the Fast and Furious kit. I'll have one just as soon as I can get one. I'll have whatever versions come next, as soon as I can buy them as well. As far as hand bags, my TL:DR. You showed great First Pics of what is going to be a great Kit! By the second page the first "Well, I wanted the stock version" posts came out. I am tired of that comment all the time. You do not have to be. As you said 'everybody' is going to have an opinion. I am, despite some griping on this board, pretty happy over all with the current state of the business. I get frustrated with Round2 for what to me, seems Sub-Par efforts on SOME new kits, but I buy half of them just the same. I get frustrated with SOME commenters who seem to have nothing good to say ever. And yes, that includes me. I need to vent less and be more positive. And sorry for posting a comment that sullied your thread. Was not my intention. I was trying to be gentle in my sarcasm. It failed. My Apologies. Alan Alexis
  19. Due to an eBay error many years ago (2008), I have a box of Four of those Revell 427 Ford parts packs. 4 of the Pontiac, Chevy, and Caddy engines too. Seller was offering one of each kind, for a total of four engines. Imagine my surprise when I got 4 of each engine for a total of 16! I offered to send back the extras, but he told me it was his mistake, and that I should just keep them. What a guy! I still have most of them. I see one going into a '57 Ford one of these days. Thanks for suggesting the 427, Bill. Now I know how to proceed.
  20. Actually, I think I'll put the Two Door body on the complete Wagon Chassis, and make a Gas Class Car that way.
  21. Man, I see all the angst here. "No Stock Hood" "No Back Seat" "No Open Headlight Grille" "It has the R/T Badge" Wah, Wah, Wah. Take a massive Chill Pill, stock Charger enthusiasts. Please? Revell will have the stock version out before most of you will even have finished detailing the engine in this kit. Do you REALLY think that Revell did not have the stock version planned for this kit? My guess is that the kit tooling was not even approved until the business case was made for at 'least' three versions of the tool. My bet on the three versions goes like this. 1. F&F Movie Car. 2. Stock Version. 3. Drag Racer. Look, We have gotten 5 ( FIVE!!) versions of the 1957 Ford, including a Del Rio Wagon that NOBODY believed was coming. Revell has given us 6 Versions of the now evergreen '32 Ford. We just got Two hits in a row of the '29/30 Ford Model A tool. It has been revealed here and on other forums that even the '49 Merc Custom, was planned from the beginning to have the Woody Wagon version, thus bringing back the Mod Squad car in new tooling. I cannot think of ANY Revell kit in the last three or four years that did not eventually spawn at least two versions. And since none of us work for Revell, nobody has even the foggiest clue what variants might have been or are still being planned, for current tools. I get it. We pay good money for kits. We want what we want! No Excuses, No Errors. "I'm not gonna settle, and neither should you." goes the cry around "The Interwebs". Well, given that Revell and Round2 are releasing 4-6 Kits each, per quarter, and given that by the very words of the folks on the boards here and elsewhere, few of us complete more than 5-6 models a year, the constant commentary about "I want this, I want that" is getting tiresome. I'll apply this advice to myself as much as anybody else. "Shut Up and BUILD Something!"
  22. Snake, I see the others have provided the photo's you sought. I look forward to building my kit. I do agree that a Blown Big Block would have made a much better Gasser Motor for this kit, and reusing the pitiful 312 was 'cheaping out' at it's worst. But better to have the kit, than not. The headers alone are almost worth it, by themselves. Revell, should sell that tree by itself.
  23. Snake, I have all 5 of the Revell '57's. I have no way to post pics, but I can give you a rundown of what is inside. Let me get to the kit, and I can share what I see. It'll take me a couple hours. Alan
  24. Tom W is correct. The more you remove, the better it looks.
