IH Home coming Photo's
TarheelRick replied to ranma's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Great pictures of some might fine looking hardware. A gentleman in my neighborhood has one of the older IH pickups, he drive quite often. I hate getting behind him because it does smoke a bit and I believe it definitely is "granny-geared", top speed behind him is never over 45 mph. Maybe I am missing something, but I wonder about the yellow log-hauler. I do not see any way that load can articulate. How does it turn? -
This 57 is coming together rather nicely. That stance is very reminiscent of many '57 Fords and others during my teen years. - "tail high for traction". Will be watching your interior work, I am using those same seats and console in a full custom '61 Starliner I am working on.

'62 Ford F-100
TarheelRick replied to Plowboy's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Extremely nice looking pickup. Really like the way you rebuilt the bed, as others have said, the proportions are right on. Also like that color and the subdued chrome of the grille. -
What did you see on the road today?
TarheelRick replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was driving down the interstate heading home from town and saw an altered wheelbase 65ish Falcon on top of a three-car auto hauler. It was in primer. Since I was driving a bit over the posted numbers I didn't have time to get my phone out to get a picture. -
George was looking through the local home improvement store finding stuff for a project. He bumped into his neighbor John. After exchanging pleasantries, George asked John, "Say, do you have that $206 I loaned you a year ago?" John replied, "No, I don't have it right now but I will get it to you, I would rather owe you than beat you out of it."

Really enjoy watching Salters come together. However looking through this WIP, many of your pictures are not showing - at least on my computer.

Really enjoy watching builds of vehicles I am not familiar with. The name is familiar, but all the variations are intriguing. Love what you are doing with this one. May not be correct, but when I look at that body, all I can see is a blown or injected SBC and a set of slicks poking through the rear fenders. Please forgive me for that, but this would make one wicked Gasser.

32 Deuce frame IFS options ?
TarheelRick replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
If you can find a '33 Ford Sedan or a '34 5-window coupe kit kit, both have IFS suspension options and they should fairly easily work on the '32 Roadster. -
Future furniture polish finish
TarheelRick replied to Greg Myers's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
This is the same stuff as Pledge, Pledge Floor Shine, and any other variants of that name. Should not have any effect on decals, not sure about Molotow. Dries as any acrylic does. It is very self-leveling, so just brush it on as you would any other paint. These are my suggestions, may not be 100% accurate, just repeating what I have read and heard. -
Lovely old touring car.

That is one mighty fine looking Impala. Really like that color, I had a '65 Chevelle SS that was very close to that color.

Brings back many memories of years long past. I had a Strombecker 1/32 figure eight that I wore out, also had (still have) a Lionel 027 diesel train set with extra track pieces and a Marx 027 Steam set. I would like to set them up, but they require way too much space and the wife says until I can get rid of some the 300+ model kits I am not going to start a new hobby. Keep those update coming so we can live vicariously through your efforts.

One word describes this beauty - Mustang. This is one fine looking build.

That is one mighty fine looking Woody. You have done some excellent work, and as the others have said that color is beautiful.

Congratulations to all of you. My wife and I just celebrated 37 years a couple months back. What makes this so special to us is, I was told before we got married it would not last two years. My wife is a Korean national (now a naturalized American) and unfortunately more than 90% of Korean/American marriages (at least military marriages) end within two or three years. We have worked hard to keep it together and it has been worth every day of it.

1950 Ford Jitney Bus
TarheelRick replied to Tom Geiger's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Been following this build, really like where you are going with it. Reminds me of the "baht buses" when I was in Thailand. Not able to see any pictures in your last update. -
microwave-styrene experiment
TarheelRick replied to STYRENE-SURFER's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Very interesting concept. However, I do not relish the thought of sleeping in the basement, so to appease the wife I doubt if I will try this. At least when she is at home. -
1928 Ford Sedan 60's Style Altered UPDATED 2/10/19
TarheelRick replied to Dennis Lacy's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Most definitely some "Bad News". Beautiful, clean build, love everything about it. -
So this guy wants me to pay him $2000 to haul off his junk? I think he has been watching EBay too much.
