  1. One word describes this beauty - Mustang. This is one fine looking build.
  2. That is one mighty fine looking Woody. You have done some excellent work, and as the others have said that color is beautiful.
  3. The Revell '32 is a 1/25 scale kit and the Monogram '40 is 1/24 scale. Did you have any difficulties in fitting the parts?
  4. Congratulations to all of you. My wife and I just celebrated 37 years a couple months back. What makes this so special to us is, I was told before we got married it would not last two years. My wife is a Korean national (now a naturalized American) and unfortunately more than 90% of Korean/American marriages (at least military marriages) end within two or three years. We have worked hard to keep it together and it has been worth every day of it.
  5. Been following this build, really like where you are going with it. Reminds me of the "baht buses" when I was in Thailand. Not able to see any pictures in your last update.
  6. Very interesting concept. However, I do not relish the thought of sleeping in the basement, so to appease the wife I doubt if I will try this. At least when she is at home.
  7. Most definitely some "Bad News". Beautiful, clean build, love everything about it.
  8. So this guy wants me to pay him $2000 to haul off his junk? I think he has been watching EBay too much.
  9. I was thinking of the same thing for the Lindberg Mercedes Roadster, so I will be watching what you do with this one. Like what you have done so far.
  10. I have two of the convertible kits and two hardtop kits, all Lindberg, plus I have picked up a couple of plastic bags of parts at swap meets and have a Resin 4-door from Star. These kits are very well detailed and fun to build, at least the two I have in work right now are fun. The fenderless one is going to be a short track modified. The red one is for my wife, she has always wanted a red convertible. However it is in its fourth or fifth paint job. The first try came out very respectable, just a couple of dust specks. When I decided to clear it I found a can of "clear pearl" so decided to use that, it turned the car a god-awful pink, haven't been able to get a decent paint job since.
  11. Not really a car, but saw this cruising the mountains in western NC.
  12. Have been following this build closely and really like the work you have put into it. I have not seen any mention of which engine you are using.
  13. Really enjoyed looking this build over. Excellent detail work especially around the hood vents (both outside and inside). Also very nice crisp work on those wheels, that style gives me a fit.
  14. No problem there, you started with a sinister looking beast. Very well built model. I like it.
  15. Very interesting rig, who built it?. For some reason I keep thinking Isetta.
  16. Those are two mighty fine looking street rods. Especially like the sedan color scheme. Two thumbs up.
  17. Good looking Ranchero, really like the Shelby relationship. I also have a couple of these and some various parts of others in my stash, plans for all of them some of these days.
  18. Another large beauty that is often overlooked is the B-36 Peacemaker. As an aside Strategic Air Command's motto "Peace is our Profession......war is just a Hobby" There is one of these on display inside the museum at Wright Patterson, very impressively large.
  19. Fantastic detail work. Love the whole build on this one. I do have one question: Where do the 'A' pillars connect to the chassis/body? It seems without some connection that roof would rip off on a 200 mph pass.
  20. Must have been a "concept" car. I noticed that in last week's ad also.
  21. When I worked it , the five stars were not on it, maybe two or possibly three. Had the chance to speak with him on a bus ride around the base from housing to the flightline. At that time I was a Buck Sergeant and he was a Captain. He saw North Carolina on my hat and struck up a conversation; I think he was from around the Burlington area.
  22. The difference between a fairy tale and a war story is the fairy tale begins "Once upon a time", and the war story begins "No BLAH this really happened". There is a war story of a B-52 doing a barrel roll over Viet Nam in order to miss a SAM. It purportedly made the return trip to Guam where it was disassembled, put on a ship and returned to the states. I am not trying to say this video is a war story, just taking the opportunity to share this "war story". And I have spent several hours crawling all over the KC-135 fixing radios/communications equipment, also got a hop on one to Hawaii. It and I was heading to Korea, but the crew bumped everyone off in Hawaii.
  23. Very fine looking model. AS the others have said, it does look period perfect. You did some really nice body work on those fenders to remove the spare-tire well.
  24. Looking back through this thread I saw the picture of the "Purple Hornies" header mufflers. I put a pair on my '72 C-10 Chevy pickup, connected to a set of Cyclone headers off the 350 engine. They lasted just over two days, I could not hear my AM radio and the gas tank behind the driver's seat vibrated uncontrollably. Replaced with a set of Thrush glasspacks with the exhaust running out in front of the rear tires. Another hot set up in the early to mid 60's was '55 GMC truck mufflers, fairly cheap and had a nice 'legal' rumble. Of course they were on the large side and if you were a bit low and there were any high manhole covers, then they wound up laying on the street. Just an old man rambling.
