ABP (Anybody But Patriots) will make it worth watching. I am a NFC fan but will be pulling for KC.

Going to be one nice old skool custom. I like what I see.

I couldn't see doing it at all, especially in one of my wife's frying pans. I really like sleeping inside, especially in January and February. And my wife is a pretty awesome cook, so there is that. Might consider a heat gun toward a piece of sheetmetal in the basement, that might work better.

Well executed concept. Beautiful build and some outstanding scratchbuilding.

I think you are correct and do not believe there is enough heat in either of those sources to effectively anneal guitar strings or any other form of steel. Heat-treating a ferrous alloy requires the metal to reach a temperature at which the molecular structure relaxes, a butane torch could possibly bring smaller pieces to that level, such as guitar strings. The metal needs to reach a temperature where it is almost red in color, then allowed to cool naturally. I was a certified welder in the USAF for more than 9 years, we did quite a bit of heat-treating of various alloys (steel, stainless, aluminum, etc.). I am no expert and that has been more years past than I really like to consider, but some things still remain in my fading memory.

Paint Pens for Detailing...
TarheelRick replied to JollySipper's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
It is 5 am, I have not had my coffee yet, I am getting ready to go to work driving a school bus of BLAH BLAH BLAH !!!! kids. A thought just crossed my mind. For those who are artistic, could these be used to draw artwork on decal paper, then clear it and viola a custom decal? Or maybe even draw custom artwork on the side/top/hood/wherever on the kit itself then clear over it? -
I have two of the Grandeur/Azera kits and they are simple builds, but very well molded. Only issue I have is the panel lines are quite weak and the plastic is a bit harder than I am used to, so the panel scribe had a mind of its own. I tried to polish the black styrene body and it came out very nicely, however as mentioned the panel lines are very weak and some of them disappeared in the polishing process. I will be looking for the Santa Fe. My wife had a 2003 V-6 AWB and that car was virtually indestructible. She traded it for a 2016 Santa Fe Sport, I-4 no AWB but it is still very nicely appointed and fun to drive.

IMHO no one should be allowed to take a picture of something that looks like that. I think the design team must have been sipping on some of Granny's rheumatiz medicine.

I have been having 404 error issues with sending PM's to different people. Each one of them have involved some part of a trade transaction. Is there a list of the "offensive" words so I can communicate without having to go the email route?

Definitely one fine looking MOPAR. I really like the mid 60's Dodge/Plymouth drag cars. They were just too wicked. As far as making a set of fenderwell headers using solder I did a set for my SCRambler, I think they came out pretty well.

Foose ‘65 impala question
TarheelRick replied to JTRACING's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Does the Foose Impala have a complete floorpan on the chassis? The Revell 65 Lowrider and 66 Streetburner (basically same kit with different bodies and engines) both have a partial floorpan on the chassis, and the interior has a separate floor section. I have not built either kit, but it appears the front section of the interior floor is supposed to finish off the rest of the floor pan attached to the chassis. If this is too confusing I will try to get pictures later for a better explanation. -
News Flash.......The Saints choke!

My prediction is a Kansas City/Green Bay superbowl and GB will be victorious because the refs will protect Rogers from any and all touches. -
I saw a you tube or maybe it was a suggestion on here that spoke of using compressed air to clear clogged spray cans. The idea is to remove the nozzle, soak it in thinner. Then take (Brain dead this morning, CRAT [can't remember a thing]) the piece that fits into a wheel for blowing up a tire, over the stem of the can and use short spurts of light air pressure to unclog the siphon tube. Haven't tried it yet but have several cans to practice on. When I was getting my late parents house ready for renovation I found a box of some of my 60's cans of AMT spray paints - candies, and other types - am going to try to see if they are salvageable.

Chrome Marker Pens
TarheelRick replied to afxmustang's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The underlying paint was actually Future over a polished body. So I dipped the whole body into Windex with ammonia and it cleaned it right up. Had to repolish a couple of areas, reapplied the Future, and left the small chrome trim black. -
Revell 1966 el Camino
TarheelRick replied to Brudda's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I built one of these several years ago and the main issue I had was getting the front inner fender wells to fit around the wired engine. Finally had to install the engine from the top after the body was partially in place. Really like the looks of your paint job and the overall build. -
Chrome Marker Pens
TarheelRick replied to afxmustang's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have mixed reaction to these pens. I was trying to do real fine trim around a window area. All went well until I tried to turn the corner and the pen "puked" down the side of the car. Up until that point I was pretty well satisfied with the application. Maybe I held it too long in one place or possibly put a bit more pressure while making the turn, either way I have to strip the car and start over. -
procharged dragradial ford mustang

One wicked Mustang. Should give "the Crow" and "Murder Nova" a run for their money. Your modeling skills are outstanding. -
If it came from a North Carolina post office I would believe it probably did take a detour through Honolulu on its way to Arizona. I live in NC and have had some bizarre shipping. I live in western NC and sent a package to a friend who lives close to the coast, the package left Greensboro went to Toledo, Cincinnati, Richmond and finally to my friend. Other packages I have shipped or had shipped to me have take circuitous routes before delivery. I sent a registered letter to my cousin. I tracked it for almost ten days, finally went to the local PO and asked them to track it; it was lost somewhere in the outer limits. My cousin wrote me and told me he had received it, according to USPS tracking it was still in the system and due for delivery.

It takes a bit of work, but I agree with MrMike. I did one, it is still in the WIP stage, so I have no finished pictures, but I do have this one.

Nice work on this one. I am always amazed at the intricate work involved in building these chassis and the other detail work. I am kind of concerned wit the T-tops, wouldn't that make the whole body flex under hard acceleration? -
AMT '67 Mustang/GT350 Stance Question

It's a Mustang, it is "rearing" to go. Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
