  1. Some really interesting saves and parts box builds. This Chevy was part of a glue-bomb CBP from another forum. A few days in the purple pond removed all paint except the silver on the chassis. Used an wheels/tires and engine from parts box, scratch built cage and other interior pieces. This Willys modified is all parts box. Body is leftover from a failed custom, engine is 6 cylinder from Revellogram '53 Chevrolet, chassis is Revell 41 Chevy pickup, wheels and tires are resin and parts box.
  2. Seem to be having a problem seeing the pictures, all I get are gray circles with white lines through them. I can see one picture of the '62 Firestar and one of the '57 coupe. I think I am missing out on some really neat customs.
  3. Just completed a great trade with Brandon (br67). Excellent shipping and communication. Thank you.
  4. Looking forward to your build. I have a few pickups I need to get on the bench.
  5. Beautiful Chevelle. Really enjoy looking at all the detail you put into it, even the shopping cart chip in the rear fender. That year is my holy grail car. I owned a 283 4V 4 speed one of these and loved it. Enjoyed some adult beverages one evening and cleaned out a ditch and three fence posts with it. Put it in a shed at my parents house with plans on rebuilding it someday. Came home on leave from the USAF one day and found out my father had sold it.
  6. I think it is probably beyond saving, therefore just throw it in a box and send it to me. I will dispose of it properly. Looks like a worthy project. I think you have been given good advice about removing the pegs. As far as the glass, the windshield and rear glass do not appear to be very complicated and should be easily replaced with clear acetate, like the stuff used in blister packaging. Good luck with this project.
  7. DON'T PANIC!!! I think it is too late for that. It seems the media and those feeding information to the media have already started a panic. When all form of societal life closes down, then we are in a real panic. Ace already mentioned the deaths from obesity. Every morning when I get into my car to go to work or come home from work I expect I will do just that, yet traffic fatalities reach the thousands every year. What has happened to our faith in our fellow man or in GOD (however you want to describe Him) so that everything will be alright. This virus will be figured out as soon as enough money has been thrown at research and pharmaceutical industry. What will eventually come out of this is that we will realize how easily we can be duped into a raging panic. Soapbox out.
  8. Very good looking Land Rover. Have never build one, but have always been intrigued by their design. Now if it were covered in about an inch of Sahara dust it would be perfect, just kidding, although that is the way most of them are pictured in magazines and such.
  9. Wonder where he came up with that particular price. There are pictures of several others below that have the same price. Maybe I will win the lottery, buy them all, and put firecrackers in them.
  10. Saw a Corona beer commercial last night, the audacity of some advertisers. (sarcasm) I was going to break open a new kit to begin working on since school has been cancelled and I will be out of work for two weeks;. But since it was manufactured in China, how do I know it is not infected and I will contract COVID-19? After all I have had it for only three years. I am scared, really scared.
  11. Very nice looking bike, those came out a few years past my bicycle riding time. What scale is this? Is that a "racing slick" on the rear?
  12. That is one great thing about the Gasser and Altereds classes; as far as body style, anything could be used.
  13. I think it is probably too late to keep politics out of the discussion. Too much of the media is trying everything possible to tie this to the supposed unconcern of one political party. That problem is only going to get worse and the discussion more silly.
  14. Most of these pictures are from the NASCAR West division. Very few, if any, full-size coupe/sedans ran in what was then the Grand National series. As far as Galaxies, I would think someone may have built one. I have plans on using my '65 Pontiac to build one of these West Coast variants.
  15. Definitely one different build. Looks a bit scary to drive, that is a whole lot of weight on some mighty small wheels and tires. Still one mighty fine looking Gasser and I really like that fuelie Corvair.
  16. Some of those early dragsters make me want to go hide in a closet, especially the three-wheelers. It was all about speed, safety be-damned. Love those pictures., saw a couple of ideas of how I could use some leftover parts.
  17. Most of my fond memories of the flight line were in a bread-truck with a bunch of other avionics maintenance people cruising around during launch to perform any minor repairs needed. Played many a hand of spades and pinochle in those trucks. I have often thought of trying to build one of those.
  18. That sounds logical. But if I am in that bucket and going to be spraying the T-Tail on a C-141 I would want extended stabilizers. You are doing an excellent job with this build; looking forward to updates.
  19. Retired in '89 and saw a few of these in Korea, Ohio, Oklahoma, and even North Carolina. Didn't pay a lot of attention to them, my job was inside the aircraft, working avionics. Really like where you are going with this one. Going to be fun to watch you doing the scratchbuilding. One thing I noticed in the pictures is a lack of stabilizers. I sort of thought those were required on any highlift vehicle. I know when I had to repair the HF antennas on C-130's and B-52's, those had to be extended and in place or QC or Safety would ream us a new one. Looking forward to your progress.
  20. Very beautiful 'Thunderchero'. The color you chose really adds to the luxury of this build. Also like the proportions of the top with the rest of the body; too many of these conversions just don't look right. Howeve,r this one looks very well done.
  21. Mighty fine looking Gasser, really like the idea of using a sedan delivery. One thing I noticed is the class designation should be B/G not B/GS, the 'S' indicates supercharged. Still an excellent build.
  22. Mighty fine looking Gasser. Looks like it just rolled out of the 60's. Nice choice of color, adds to the overall look.
  23. Since the pick-up window is rectangular in shape I would think the rectangle shape on the top of the sprue just might be the rear window for the pick-up. I could be wrong, I have built three or four of these kits and have more in my stash, and do not remember any of them having the wrong rear window.
  24. At my age patience in not a virtue.
  25. Since issue #206 came out in November, I guess it is too early to expect anything on issue #207. Just wondering.
