  1. There are some real pretty colors in that line-up. But I have a drawer full now, waiting for me to use before they dry up.
  2. Must agree with the other comments. The 40 Coupe is one of my all-time favorite and you have done an excellent rendition of this one.
  3. Beautiful build, although it needs one headlight turned towards the ground. Invariably one, or both, headlights would work loose and turn toward the ground. I learned how to use a tractor on a later model Massey-Ferguson. My neighbor was a farmer and close family friend. When I was out of school in the summer he would let me work the tractor in his fields while he attended to other farming chores. Great stuff for a kid that wanted to drive. It didn't matter that I was driving around in a decreasing circle dragging a plow/cultivator/disc- I was driving.
  4. Beautiful build. These "lower class" cars are too often overlooked, but they are truly the foundation of drag racing. This build reminds me of another Ford 6-cylinder car, could be the same one. Anyway the builder used three 351 heads on this engine. He cut the front two cylinders off one head, the center two from another and the last two from yet another. He used some form of pressure-brazing to join the pieces; supposedly it gave him much better horsepower. Just a tidbit of useless trivia. If my old brain remembers correctly, it was 1 or 1/2 second per class differential. Another factor, especially in the stock-type classes, was an automatic got a 1/2 second headstart over a manual in the same class.
  5. Very nicely done Sedan Delivery. All the subtle touches you have added makes me look more for others changes. Really like it.
  6. Wow, that is a real beauty and the pearl shows very well in the photos.
  7. Really fine looking hot rod. Glad to see you left the cab roof stock height, too many chop it down too short. That color really makes it come alive. Very nice build.
  8. Looks like a plan that will work well. Thanks for the idea.
  9. Thanks for the info. I guess a couple of Craftsman 1/2 drive universals would not work. ?
  10. This is an interesting suspension change. However I have one question. Doesn't the steering wheel shaft attach to the that small rod protruding from the rack and pinion system? It appears this will require a bunch of engineering to get around the engine block and exhaust system. Or am I missing something?
  11. What are you building? That may help with answers. Have you considered making your own flares? Styrene strip and putty can make some awesome flares.
  12. Nice looking tractor, clean build. I like it. Who made this kit?
  13. I have always had a soft spot for the Gooney Bird, it took me from Bangkok, Thailand to Udorn RTAFB. Had a chance to work on its comm systems a few times. War Story (no blah blah blah blah this really happened). A Lt Col was the assigned pilot for the C-47, his flight was milk runs from base to base in Thailand. Nothing really exciting just a couple hundred miles from a war zone. He tired of the ribbing by the fighter pilots at the O-Club, so he showed them the C-47 can do an inside loop and survive. Needless to say the rest of his time in Thailand he was flying a desk. Difference between a fairy tale and a war story. Fairy tale begins "Once upon a time", war story begins "No blah blah blah blah this really happened."
  14. That is some mighty fine work on that big boy. Looking forward to updates.
  15. That is some jaw-dropping scratchbuilding. Really enjoy watching your progress.
  16. Really nice little mini-stocker. Gives me some ideas what to do with my Daytona parts kit.
  17. Very well done VW, really like that color. Nicely done interior. Just another one I let get away and wish I had back, was a blast to drive, even watching the highway speed by through the floorboard.
  18. I am slowly getting used to the new format of this forum and I find it more user friendly. However I do find it quite tiresome to open a "WIP" forum post and find pictures of a completed model that should be in the former "Under Glass" section. The "WIP section is just that, a place to post progress and photos of a project that is a work-in-progress, not a finished build. To post a finished build, scroll on down the page to where it says "Model Cars, NASCAR, Model Trucks, etc and post your finished build there. Only takes a few seconds more, but it makes the forum more sensible.
  19. I remember building this kit when it was new. Mine didn't look as good as yours though; mainly lots of glue and white styrene. Very nice restoration.
  20. Really like the Vicky and you have done this one righteous. Very nice build.
  21. Excellent build, beautiful detail work.
  22. Agree with everyone else, this is one beautiful build. Looks like it should be parked at Big Ed's Burgers. A quick question, where exactly did you cut the '48 and the '41 to make the match?
  23. Just read through this whole post. Thankfully I have never had the venetian blind ads or the ones overlapping the subject titles. The most problems I have are those between comments. A few of those are designed to subtly look like another comment. That being said, I have my adblocker turned off for this site and so far I have not had a single ad pop up while reading all six pages of this post. Now I will probably go to the next post and be attacked unmercifully with ads. Anyway, a big thank you to Dave for trying to help with this problem.
  24. Hmmm, guess I need to pay more attention.
  25. Here is one I started a couple years ago, but decided it would be a long term project because of my developing vision of a finished project - a cabover Ranchero with "mega-horsepower" in the bed. The custom front is from the 69 Corvair, the custom rear is from a '61 Ford Styline kit. Tires will be from one of the AMT curbside :weird" kits, the tread is imprinted with AMT.
