Exactly. This is a fantasy build racecar kit. It's entirely possible that whatever car they scanned to create the 3D files that the molds were based on had a chop. BuT ThE ROof Is WrONg.. Anyway... I have a number of other comments that I tried typing here. Comments regarding the shape. Comments regarding angles and lighting. Comments regarding the guy who seems to be dead set on blaming the Chinese for every issue in the model car industry. But I deleted those and doubt I'll comment any further. I'd probably have to ban myself. Or put myself on moderation. Tim, keep up the good work. Thanks for trying to give everyone a sneak peek of an upcoming kit. Hopefully the comments directed at you in this thread don't dissuade you from doing this in the future. And the easiest solution is for Moebius to just rename the kit. 1965 Chevy II Chopped-Roof Gasser Boom. Change the printing on the box and everything is accurate now. The negative Nancy's can't complain about the roof anymore. But they still will. ?

Re-joined a league, and played volleyball last night for the first time in a couple of years. EVERYTHING is sore this morning. Two matches, each a best of three. We won the first match, lost the second. All in all, decent results. Now, where's my Advil....

What kits do you collect?
iamsuperdan replied to carbuilder1950's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I don't consider myself a collector per se. Everything I buy, I buy with the intention to build. Some just sit in the stash a little longer. I do however have a penchant for Porsches, particularly the 964 generation of 911. I also seem to be amassing a large stack of kits and parts for the 88-98 GMC/Chev pickups & SUVs. It's my fav truck design of all time. -
Yeah, I think they work exclusively with 1/24. Having said that, a wheel in 1/24 should be pretty darn close to a 1/25 wheel. Actual dimensions would be a good thing. Having said that, the back of the wheel can definitely be sanded down for width. And they wheels come with a couple of different styles of mounting options, which can also be adjusted. So it shouldn't be too hard to make one of their wheels fit pretty much anything.

The Michaels here in Canada have always had a horrible selection. But on Saturday I went to my local one, and they exactly two kits on the shelf. The Revell 2in1 Nova, and a snap helicopter. Used to luck out every now and then.

Excellent work! It's funny, I didn't see your post until this morning, but last week I stumbled across your YouTube channel and watched this video. Some really nice stuff there!

Sorry if I missed it, but is this a real livery you're doing? Or one of your own design? Whatever it is, it looks great! -
Luna hasn't figured out that she can't get the birds. But the Blue Jays...and the crows...and the sparrows...all know that she can't reach the top of the fence.

I'm like Peter. Buy them in a 100 pack, super cheap, disposable. And I too use them twice. I have a few knives on the go. A couple with new blades for "fine" work, such as decals, foil, fine trimming, etc. And a couple with re-used blades for "dull" work, likecutting and hacking, mainly getting things off sprues. I have old Advil containers that I fill with the discarded blades before tossing in the garbage.

Looks fantastic! -
Impressive technique for sure. Call me a rivet-counter, but a little bit of my OCD comes out with this. The Ram 3500 is not available with the dual pane sunroof and doesn't come with the dual exhaust. ? lolz Still...that's pretty awesome.

Awesome project! -
Anyway... If you want to see some excellent videos on this subject, check out this guy on You Tube. He sometimes uses spray cans, sometimes airbrushes, sometimes both on the same build, and he gives a lot of details about what he's doing and why. AND he discusses clearcoating over decals. His builds are great. The guy I posted earlier in this thread is even better.

Look, we may be moderators, but we're also people who have the same thoughts as everyone else. And sometimes, we get frustrated or snippy or angry or any other emotion as well. We just keep our thoughts hidden away most of the time. Every now and then though, a little humanity slips out. lolz And believe me, we ARE watching this thread. Personally, I just want to see people here build their models and have fun. And I like it when a person asks for advice, other people give a ton of great advice, then that person takes that advice, and gets better because of it. And really, I think everyone that posts here feels the same way. So when the opposite happens....well, here we are. Let's just keep it civil, and not get so serious about every little thing. Peace out...
