  1. Agreed. Christine is hands down one of my fav movies, not just one of my fav car movies. A lot of the car movies I like are not the norm. The Car, The Van, The Wraith, Maximum Overdrive. Yes, they're ridiculous and bad, but I love them.
  2. It always surprises me that Americans get so excited over these. They've been legal in Canada for years now, and are actually somewhat common. I live in a small town just west of Edmonton, and even this small town has a company that specializes in JDM cars.
  3. I absolutely love it, and as soon as it's available for ordering, will be grabbing one for myself.
  4. Great score today. Two factory sealed Kenworth Aerodynes. I unwrapped one to check it out. Two factory sealed auto transport trailers. One Coors Kenworth. One Ford C900 with trailer.
  5. My vote is for Azzuro Dino. *drools*
  6. Ha! Not nearly enough rust to be accurate! Your weathering work is always bang on. The stickers are a nice touch too.
  7. I'm not sure how I feel about this. lolz The 288 GTO is my fav Ferrari. But your work is amazing. Watching.
  8. I'm enjoying the progress on this. Excellent work!
  9. Movie car accuracy, you say? It begins and ends here. lolz / end thread
  10. I tried to find the pic, but a friend of mine slid of an icy road into a tree. Put a huge dent in the driver door. Next time I saw the car, he had dipped a workboot in black paint, put a boot print in the dent, and then wrote "Chuck Norris was here." on his door. Oh how we laughed. I had a hit and run on my 87 Mazda 626. Someone backed into my car in a parking lot, took out the hood, driver side headlight, and rad support. I put a sticker on the hood that said "Life's a five letter word for Female Dog, then you get hit by one."
  11. I'm still 6'6".
  12. Looking excellent so far!
  13. I would buy a kit of this car the moment one became available. My first car was a 1978 Thunderbird. Dark metallic brown, brown vinyl roof, brown interior, spoke hubcaps, whitewalls, 400ci V8 with a 4-barrel added. I know Lindberg made a 1/32 version, but good luck finding one. Watching this for sure!
  14. I love these trucks, and would do many immoral and unethical things to obtain a real one. In the meantime, I have two in the stash that I will eventually get around to building. This isn't just my fav generation of Chev truck, it's my fav truck period. Watching.
  15. It could be, but I have no idea. We moved from Mississauga to Edmonton in 1978. I was only 5, so there's not much I remember from out there. My parents might know where that photo was taken. I always have questions about these old photos, so when they come over on Sunday for our little Grey Cup gathering, I'll bring it up.
  16. I've often thought about buying one of these stands. Currently, I use an old spray car. I put some double sided tape on top, and slap a car body on top. Doesn't move, doesn't fall off, and I can pick it up and manipulate it to ensure coverage, especially on the rockers and underside of bumpers and stuff. I use it in conjunction with an Ikea Lazy Susan. It looks hobbled together, but it works.
  17. Yeah, my dad put a single driving light on the car. He had a soft vinyl cover for it too, black and white checkerboard pattern. I have a kit my dad built back in the 70s that was painted like this. I recently found an original issue Matador X kit, still sealed, that I'm going to build like this car. Including the cyclops light of course.
  18. THat is definitely weird, but somehow kind of cool too.
  19. Looks great! And the outdoors shots are perfect. Natural light is the way to go for pics for sure. Good luck finding a shelf long enough to keep that on!
  20. Depends what I'm doing. If I'm spraying an entire body, I'll stand. I just find I can move around the body and get better views of all sides and surfaces if I have the mobility of standing. Having said that, if I'm doing finer detail work, I'll sit.
  21. Man, I love these old XJs. Need pics of your new toy!
  22. Wow, I can't even imagine. As horrible as it is though, your stuff can be replaced. You and your family cannot. Looking forward to seeing some new builds once you get the important things back in order. Oh, and the 959/961 is my fav of the bunch.
  23. Great work so far!
  24. Just saw this. As another Albertan, welcome!
