  1. Got some build time in last night with princess. Her stuffed unicorn assisted. Some of you may remember the '56 Chev I posted up that she built previously. This Jeep continues the out of the box thinking! Pretty proud of that.
  2. We had this one arrive yesterday, ready to deliver to a new client. I absolutely love these. Brand new 2017 Sprinter 2500 4X4 high roof 12-passenger van. This one is pretty loaded, and we did a tire upgrade for the client. I want one for myself. Badly. I had the white one pictured a couple of years ago. Absolutely loved it. But it wasn't the high roof version. Still, should have kept that one. Would love to see this in kit form.
  3. Yup! Love the Jeeps! I've had five over the years. Eagerly awaiting the day I can order the new JL pickup with a diesel!
  4. Yeah, kept her in good shape. Very little rust, no body damage at all, which was quite the feat considering what our camping and wheeling trips were like. Ultimately, growing family meant an upgrade, so it went off to a new home, replaced with an '02 Tahoe Z71. The guy I sold it to turned it into his dedicated offroad beast. Completely tore it up. Fender and body cutting, bumpers, body damage, gutted the interior. Made me sad seeing what became of her.
  5. I'd say it was my 1993 Jeep XJ Sport. I bought that in '98 when it had 70,000km on it. Four door, 4.0L inline 6, AC, no power windows or locks, and the rare rear mounted spare. Drove that thing until it hit almost 450,000km. Over time it received 6 inches of lift and bigger tires, lighting and exhaust upgrades, a very custom stereo install, built in radar. We did a few Jeep Jamborees, lots of camping and off road adventures. Had a tree fall on it and literally bounce off the glass. Never let me down. No break downs, never towed, never left me stranded. Routine maintenance, and it was perfect. I miss this one constantly.
  6. GOing back a few posts... So that's Bruce's old truck in the blasting booth? Will be cool to see that one resurrected. I daresay the episode where they reveal that will become a Bruce tribute episode, and will be a fan favourite for sure. Rasta Mike. I knew the yard, had no idea that was his! I don't know if I'm impressed at the collection, or disappointed in the colossal waste of iron just sitting there, slowly rotting away. Either way, I want to go spend a day just poking around taking pics. For those looking, I'm pretty sure Netflix has the first six seasons of HTH.
  7. That entire stretch of road is actually a beautiful drive! The sad thing is, I'll be doing 120kmh on it, and I'm usually one of the slower guys out there. 120 is fast enough for me. So many others driving way too fast for conditions, even in clear summer weather.
  8. Busy weekend, capped off by a rock n roll show! Went and saw Anthrax last night. This is the band that made me want to start playing guitar 30 years ago. I've seen them a dozen times or so over the years, and they never fail to impress me. I also realized my next phone needs a better camera.
  9. My build is under way, not a ton of progress yet to show off. Soon....
  10. I switched most of my cables from straight jack to 90 degree jacks. Amp to cab, effects to amp, etc. Not sure if that will help your issue in the future, but it might.
  11. Really digging this one lately. The Motorleague.
  12. On Firday last week, Howard Stern's SiriusXM channel did an amazing David Bowie tribute. They managed to get Tony Visconti to host, and had 25 artists come in and cover Bowie songs. This special was fantastic! Personal favourites were Garbage covering Starman and Todd Rundgren doing Life On Mars. I think some of the audio is on You Tube, and if you have the SiriusXM app, yhou can stream it. It's well worth your time!
  13. Very clean. Nice build!
  14. Ha! Last winter I welcomed everyone to winter, where parking spots are made up and lines on the road don't matter.
  15. Sorry, can't remember the name of the band at all! I'd try searching You Tube. Nirvana in major key.
  16. Finally did! Just didn't get a chance to post it up until just now.
  17. So this one only took me 13 years to complete. Back in 2005 I bought my first new vehicle, a 2005 Jeep TJ Sport. That went in the garage next to the 1993 XJ Sport. At that point, I got really into Jeeps, and picked up this Revell CJ7 kit. Started it, then with the demands of kids and the yardwork that goes along with a new house, it went into the pile of things I just don;t have time for. Dragged it back out recently, determined to finish it. It's builtbox stock. The only addition is the antenna, which is a D'Addario .017 gauge guitar string. Paint is Duplicolour Torreador Red, a GM truck colour. It's strange, around thw wheel wells, the paint lifted a little with the Tamiya tape I used to mask the wheel arches. I did my usual prep and primer, first time I've had a paint issue like that. I chose to leave it instead of touch it up. Overall i'm pretty happy with the paint on this. The plate is a reference to Sisters of Mercy. Check them out on Spotify. Could do with some detailing on the wheels, and in looking at the pics, I realized I forgot to paint the marker lights. Not my best work, but I'm calling it done and sticking it on the shelf. Kit went together okay. The hardtop doesn't fit at all, and getting the doors, body, and windshield to line up was a chore, so I just didn't. If I was building it again, I'd add more interior detail. Seatbelts, a stereo, etc.
  18. I got out of the office to go visit several clients in the town of Jasper yesterday. Jasper is (obviously) in Jasper National Park. Dark sky preserve, highly untouched and natural. Almost no chainstores or restaurants, very strict regulations regarding development and expansion. How it should be. When I became "the boss" I passed almost all of myh clients to the account managers working under me. But I kept all of my Jasper clients, because quite frnakly I like going to see them. One ski jill, two tourist destinations, two major hotel groups, two tour operators, and a half dozen or so individuals. My goal is to take over the town andhave every new vehicle going top Jasper getting there through me. Then I move my office there. lolz. Anyway, spending the day in the mountains always rejuvinates me. I was working (tehcnically) but it never feels like it when I'm there. And yes, I take a lot of truck pictures.
  19. Yup, that's the one. I love cheesy 70s movies.
  20. That's the one! Typical 70s cheese, but I dig it. lolz
  21. JI know, I know...where they're going they don't need roads... Technically, the Tesla totally serves a purpose! Normally, when testing rockets, generic weights are used to test ballast and load ability and whatnot. In this case, why not do something more fun? They needed weight, that Roadster fits the bill, and does it in a fun way that brings attention to the project. Look at how this story is everywhere! Mission accomplished! There was a movie in the 70s about the lunar landing hoax. Can't remember what it was called, but I liked it. Conspiracy theories fascinate me.
  22. True, the Tesla isn't the first car in space. However, it is a the first real street legal car in space. Pretty cool publicitiy stunt. More importantly, as a 4000lb object, it successfully did the job of testing cargo capacity of the Falcon Heavy rockets. SpaceX have proved they can send serious payloads in to space, and more importantly, safely land most of the equipment used to do it, so that it can be reused in future flights. Talk about a cost savings! How much of the equipment that got the lunar rover to the moon was reused?
