  1. ANyone who has spent time talking with me knows I'm not a big Ford fan. But I'll give credit where it's due, and this is pretty darn cool. 2019 Mustang Bullitt. And they've got the original movie car too! https://drivemag.com/news/1968-bullitt-mustang-resurfaces-after-40-years-shows-up-alongside-2019-heir-in-detroit Now we just need to see them do a cool collaboration with Dodge, and get a black Charger involved. Yeah right.
  2. Early 70s. If I can find the comic again (there's a few boxes!) I'll update here.
  3. Stunned. Talk about a 90s icon. Listed to them a LOT.
  4. Horrible car! Great build though.
  5. I find that same thinness in both Testor's and Tamiya. Having said that, over the past year, I seem to be switching to Tamiya whenever I need paint.
  6. Was going through and sorting/catalogingmy late father-in-law's old comic collection over the weekend. Happened to find this. And in closer detail...
  7. I appeal to the aircraft experts here! I know very little about airplanes, and almost nothing about airplane kits. A couple of years ago, we started going through my late father in law's garage. THe attic was packed full of old magazines, comics, and old books. Hidden amongst those were a few model kits. There were a couple of auto kits, and several airplanes. I'm not looking to get rid of these, but I do have questions , as per below. Revell Messerschmitt Bf109G - I think as it sits, these are somewhat rare, in that the decal sheet includes swastikas. Kit makers have stopped provided period correct decals now, right? THis one even had an extra set of decals in it, along with some period correct sandpaper and glue. I'm sure the glue is just fine to use now. lolz Hawk P47D Thunderbolt - all molded in chrome, 1/4 inch scale. What does that translate to? Life Like Hobby Kits - Laird-Turner Pesco Special - any idea what scale this thing is?
  8. Looking really good so far!
  9. Colour is fantastic, and that is definitely the right direction for the wheels! Makes me want to bust out the one I have in the stash.
  10. Looks like most of the pics are dead in that link. Good info though. I'll get some pics posted up for sure though.
  11. Yeah, I have the MPC DOH Dodge on the bench right now. Lots of differences between these two kits! i might do them both at the same time and do a direct comparison post on these. Growing up, we had a 77 Fury sedan, a 78 Fury Sport Suburban wagon, and a 68 Fury III convertible; all at the same time. Learned to drive on the wagon. These cars hold a special place in my heart for sure.
  12. Thanks to mk11, this landed in my hands yesterday. Love these old 70s boats!
  13. Remote starter, heated seats, heated steering wheel, and a nuclear meltdown level heater. That's what pleased me this morning.
  14. Having just acquired a Yodel Fury, I can say without a doubt that it would be either a 77 or 78 model. The 76 definitely had round headlights, and in 79 it no longer existed.
  15. I still love this generation, and have been looking for a 1:1 for a while now. I need a new toy/project! No idea what engine it had. I remember it sounded angry. Our wagon was the full jam model, and had the biggest you could get at the time according to my dad. I'm guessing that means either a 383 or a 440? Not really sure. I do remember our 68 Fury III had the 318, because the hood emblem had 318 on it. The 77 sedan definitely sounded louder and angrier than that 68. If I found the VIN, is there some kind of a VIN decoder or website where I could find out the exact optioning it had? That would be interesting to me. The clear lenses and grille came from Shapeways. If you look in the resin section, there's a thread near the top all about the resin grilles and lights.
  16. Finally got some snow today! It's not the 15cm that was being called for, but we got snow. First snow since early November. ANd it's cold and windy. So of course, now that it looks like winter, I took the plow truck I had built back in September and parked it in the prime display location, in hopes that we might get someone interested. Lo and behold, two walk in clients today on that truck. So today, winter does not bother me at all.
  17. Turned out really nice! I need to look more closely when I see these built "junk" kits are garage sales and stuff. You've proved they can be easily turned into something shelf worthy!
  18. I'm still not sure if these flat earthers are just trolling, or if they legitimately believe it. I really hope it's the former.
  19. That turned out great! If you check the "On The Bench" section, I've started my build.
  20. Whoa! Even has the same "mistake" on the back of the vinyl roof. That's wild that two people chose pretty much the exact same colour, on what I believe is a fairly oddball and rare kit! If your kit has a baby blue exhaust, I'm pretty sure I'll literally fall out of my chair!
  21. WHoa! Very nice, VERY realistic looking! Excellent work.
  22. Yeah, I'm waiting to luck out on one that's cheap. FOund one offered here that I should have snagged. Ah well.
  23. Started this one up a couple of days ago. I've been a huge fan of those massive late 70s cars for years. I chalk it up to growing up around them, and learning to drive on them. For a good chunk of the 80s, our garage had a 1977 Plymouth Fury sedan, a 1978 Plymouth Fury Sport Suburban wagon, as well as a 1968 Plymouth Fury III convertible. Before that, we had a 1973 AMC Matador and a 1967 ( I think) Mercury Comet Cyclone. I learned to drive o nthe Fury wagon, and my first car in 1990 was a 1978 Ford Thunderbird. So big cars have always had a place in my heart. And that brings me to this build. I'm turning the Dukes Of Hazzard polkice car into our 1977 Plymouth Fury. Thatnks to some info on this forum, I found a couple of resin grille options to choose from, plus I have a few sets of wheels that will be more suited to a proper build, and don't look like they belong on a clown car. If you have this kit, you'll know what I mean! Here's what I'm going for. So far, I've modifed the body to accept the Fury grille, and have started basic assembly of the engine. Chrome sprue is sitting in the purple bath right now, so engine assembly will continue tonight once that is rinsed and dried.
