  1. I'm convinced this whole model thing is actually two hobbies. The first, which I'm much better at, is acquiring kits and expanding the stash. The second is actually building and finishing kits. Anyway... Finally found this one locally. And snagged these too.
  2. He's got limited offerings, but https://whitechocolate124.com/ has some transkits and parts that are stellar quality. VW, some Honda, some Mercedes.
  3. Great job on both! I've often thought about that Trans AM, but have no idea where I'd put the finished kit!

  5. This has come up before, and we're definitely aware of Magzter's shortcomings. In editorial meetings, we have discussed, and continue to look into alternatives that provide a better experience. As always, if/when a change is made, we'll post about it here. Thanks for the feedback!
  6. We had a lot of rain last night, so no worries!
  7. It's like all of the Coke branded items. I see tons of that stuff at garage sales and antique malls, and people want ridiculous money for it. Just because it's old, doesn't mean it's valuable.
  8. Dropped a truck off at a vendor, and had a peek at his project.
  9. Yes, the Hauler was issued as both a full kit and a simplified curbside. Red truck on the box is the Van Halen version and is full detail. Yellow truck on the box is the curbside kit. Would love to see this one reissued, as it is far superior to the AMT kit. It's 1/24 scale though, which seems to annoy a lot of people.
  10. 100% agree. In these days of CAD and digital scanning and rendering, etc; there's no excuse for an inaccurate kit.
  11. You mention using the hexagonal bottle with orange label/cap. Did you notice that the "citrus" Tamiya glue is NOT the glue that you're using? Maybe try reading all the posts first, before commenting and laughing at others. Now we can laugh at you. Right?
  12. Nope, not appropriate. But Google ads picks the ads based on your computer's browsing and search history, so everyone gets to see different ads. Although you probably weren't searching for something that specific, something on your computer triggered google's ads, and that's what you got to see. It's definitely a little skewed here because we discuss "models" and sometimes "drag models." Not much that can be done, but will ask Dave about it. He's our web guru, and if there's a solution, he'll find it.
  13. Nah, that doesn't hurt a hobby. What will hurt/kill a hobby is when the old timers are total jerks to the newbies.
  14. I have an Instagram account specifically for my modelling stuff. A lot of the people I follow on there post links to designers or files on Cults, so I've found a lot of guys through there. If you haven't found these designers yet: https://cults3d.com/en/users/BlackBox/creations https://cults3d.com/en/users/MCSDesign/creations https://cults3d.com/en/users/Pixel3D/creations https://cults3d.com/en/users/ZFMW/creations https://cults3d.com/en/users/denilsonvm_modelcars/creations https://cults3d.com/en/users/89DSGN/creations Some really good stuff there.
  15. I have found most of what I want on Cults. I have found it to be an excellent source for engine, transmissions, wheels, tires, seats, body kits, underhood detail parts, figures, diorama pieces, and more. But I've also used CGTrader, Gambody, and Thingiverse. What specifically are you looking for?
  16. That looks great! Which kit did you use for the base? If you say it's the MPC Country Charger, I'm going to literally fall out of my chair.
  17. I agree with you both! I'm actually leaning towards the center cap, as that's what I envisioned in the first place. The funny thing is, I haven't even started the kit yet. Box open, all bags still sealed. Maybe I should get rolling on that.
  18. Once again, a reminder that politics are a no-go-zone. ?
  19. Have a kit that has been going on for a long time. It's one of those kits that just kicks your butt every step of the way. From missing parts, to shipping delays for those missing parts, to poor fit, to being a dummy and breaking delicate parts. Ugh. Anyway... While I calm myself down from the most recent curse session at the bench, I did a little more on a couple of projects. Hollowed out the grille for this Ford van, and out some plastic mesh behind. Looks much better now. And then assembled some wheels I printed up for a project. Trying to decide if I want to leave the half center caps, as it's the look I wanted, or if I paint the lug nuts and leave them exposed, as I kind of like that look too. Hmm... Also printed the Hellcat engine for this one. Needs some sanding and cleanup before assembly.
  20. The July 1 Canada Day car show that was postponed due to severe weather is a go for Sunday. Weather is looking beautiful this weekend. Which also means that tomorrow I'm heading the local Pick N Pull to look for Tahoe parts. I enjoy poking around there.
  21. Saw this at the drive thru this morning. Definitely not stock. It sounds super mean. Excellent ride height and wheel choice too. I want it.
  22. Looks pretty good to me. Lots of selection, pricing is really good. I'd give it a try. In fact, I probably will.
