  1. Saw this beauty the other day. Finally, a bumper sticker everyone can agree with. Let's zoom in on that... And a verse I can get down with.
  2. Did the Red Cross First Aid course yesterday. Needed to refresh it before my certification expired. While at the training place, managed to buy the stuff needed to restock my camping first aid kit.
  3. Explain this one then, because it's not that I just don't find it funny, I truly don't get the joke here.
  4. Not to pick nits here, but... This has been in the news for a couple of years now, and there has never been any mention of being an aircraft carrier. The sails are shaped like wings, but that appears to be the only reference to aircraft for this boat. https://www.theoceanbird.com/
  5. I keep meaning to take pics and document builds, but I usually get kind of lost in the build and forget.
  6. I don't know how rare they are, but I have a few kits that I guess are rare-ish. AMT '75 Matador X Tamiya Ferrari F40 Full Display - I have 2 of these Revell Red Bull F1 RB8 Mark Webber Fujimi Porsche Carrera Speedster Enthusiast Model Revell City Liner MPC Mustang Indy Pace Car A few others there. I should really pay closer attention to the stash.
  7. Finished up doing our taxes. Worked out well, as the refund will cover a new overhead door for the garage, and polyjacking the driveway.
  8. Saw this and was reminded of my last employer.
  9. Spring has arrived, so I've finally been able to move the workbench back into the garage. Perhaps this year is the year we finally get around to heating the garage.
  10. 102. Wow! I think I always went to the folding back cover first when I got my hands on an issue. Definitely more of a thinking person's cartoon, as Mad always got a little more political, which my young self didn't really get. Probably why I was a bigger fan of Cracked, or CarToons.
  11. We had a birthday at work today, so his wife brought in cupcakes for everyone. Heck yeah. Mid-morning chocolate cupcakes are a good thing. Doesn't take much to keep me happy.
  12. Our downtown core is getting dangerous these days.
  13. I still find the choice of mirrors to be a little odd, but won't stop me from grabbing a couple.
  14. Great. Now I'm interested in a large scale kit. I don't need more kits. Or do I?
  15. No worries. ? ATTENTION EVERYONE: The spammer was banned earlier today. You can stop sending reports now. Just delete the PMs and move on.
  16. He was banned earlier today.
  17. And to think how excited we get when a small box of plastic shows up in our mailbox. Imagine when your entire house shows up as a model kit! I wonder what I would do with the sprues. Hmm...?
  18. Actually, if you dive just a smidge deeper, you'll read that this was a CNG station, not an EV charging station. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2023/04/06/fact-check-video-shows-exploding-natural-gas-car-not-ev/11597329002/ But nice try.
  19. My 2 cents, for what it's worth. I think AMT/Round 2 are doing a very good job with what they have. But I think they can do better. When they choose to do a new tool, it's on par with Tamiya. That newer release International 4070A was a dream to build. But, AMT does a lot of older subject matter, based on molds that are decades old. Quite often, these kits needs a significant amount of cleanup during the build process, and some of the details have faded over time, and the instructions are really vague. But, they have some very interesting subject matter, and as long as you go in with the right expectations, the kits are actually quite good. And one look around here at some of the builds will show you just how good these kits can look. Having said that, new tools aren't cheap, and I'm not sure what Round 2's budget is for new kits and new tools. They do seem to be introducing a lot of new tooling and new kits these days, so I think it's looking pretty good.
  20. I have an Elegoo Mars 2 Pro, and it's been awesome and trouble-free. However, I'll be upgrading because the build area just isn't large enough to support car bodies. For wheels & tires, engines, and other parts it has been excellent and easy to use. Make sure you read this thread. Lots of good info.
  21. I try to snipe when bidding. I wonder though if EBay will ever do what other sites do to prevent it. Bring A Trailer for example. If a bid goes in right at the end of an auction, they add 2 minutes of auction time to that last bid. And if some one bids within that two minutes, they add two more minutes from THAT bid. And so on. I've seen auctions last for quite a while after it was supposed to have ended.
  22. Really nice work! The lights were a great decision.
  23. So... I did a thing. 2022 Mach-E GT in Shadow Black Full front end PPF and a light tint on the front door windows. Did a proper clean and a ceramic coat today. Should be a fun daily. Truck is going to feel neglected. Better make some Home Depot plans for the weekends so its not feeling too ignored.
  24. I've seen people use it with a small brush, and it's way too much in my opinion. But if it works for them, then it's all good. Just a little bit on a toothpick holds everything in place. And the toothpick can get into the little cracks and crevices.
