Back in the early 70s, November 10, 1973 late night/early morning, to be exact, my dad was able to record an entire Pink Floyd concert onto reel to reel, direct from the radio. Entire show was commercial free. Maybe this was just a one-off ad-free event for Toronto radio? Anyway, I know the date, because while my mum was at the hospital giving birth to me, dad was at home recording a Pink Floyd concert. ?

I thought Revell's customer service was great. My Porsche Panamera kit did not come with tires. I went to the website, followed the steps, and had a set of tires in less than a month. This is one of the reasons I always open and inspect kits when I buy them. I never leave anything "factory sealed" after purchasing. That way if there's an issue, I can deal with it immediately, before the kit goes out of production, or I lose the receipt, or whatever.

I need a recommendation.

People can do whatever they want through private messaging. We cannot see it, we cannot do anything about it. So if people choose to sell through PM, so be it. Yet when people get burned by selling kits through PM, we still get some of those people coming to us saying that we, as administration, need to do something about it. Sorry, has nothing to do with us. To be clear, we will not be allowing sales to appear in the forum. -
I guess technically, it's a Mercedes SK1844LSV8. But let's just go with 1844. Some of you will have seen this one in MCM Issue 218 that is out now. Really good kit. Italeri have been getting a lot of mileage out of this one as they've been issuing versions of this for decades. Different roof heights, some with single rear axle, some with dual. But the details on the molds are still really crisp, and fit is still really good. Unless it's not. For the first time, I had a bugger of a time with an Italeri truck kit. The engine/exhaust just fought me the entire way. No matter how many times I test fit and glued, and unglued, and trimmed, and adjusted, I just could not get the engine plumbing to fit together. So I'm just going to call this a curbside build now. Despite that, I really like it. And I still really like the Italeri truck kits.

Looks good! Just curious, is this the recently re-released version? Or the original from a few years back? -

I built this one and the cement truck when I was a kid. Will have to grab this and do a good job this time! -

I just bought the files for 3d printing a Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Curbside only, but will still look cool on the shelf. -

I'm really looking forward to this one. And I really like that they didn't go with the usual "retro" styled box art. -
What is your oldest unfinished W.I.P

Hmmm...I have an Italeri Ferrari F40 that I started in the mid-90s. I haven't touched it since. Second longest is an AMT Ford truck. The awful Super Stones kit. It's like 90% done, but I've just had zero motivation to wrap that turd up. I should really get both cleared up. -
Yeah, I've noticed that. Some will disagree, but I think we're just seeing an evolution in the hobby. New tech arrives on the scene, making it easy for many to create the items they need, without having to pay for shipping, or wait for shipping. Resin manufacturers see this, and then many realize it's hard to compete with home 3D printing. So they choose to close shop. Disappointing for sure, because there have been so many that have filled that aftermarket niche for so long, and have put out amazing products. But it's just how it is. And over time, the cost of 3d printers will keep coming down and the tech will get better, and they'll become almost as commonplace as airbrushes or spray booths. And unlike the switch to EVs, there's no mandate. I think if a new tech or new way of doing things has merit, people with just switch organically. Kind of like CDs and the advent of streaming.

Just as an update, my decals arrived today, safe and sound. And PERFECT. Yes, they were later than expected, but Ray emailed me more than once and has kept me in the loop about the delays. Customer service, how it should be.

Nicely done! It's always surprised me that no one has done a stock version of the Delorean.

Panel Truck ? Sedan Delivery ?
iamsuperdan replied to Sam I Am's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If I recall, the rear jump seats were installed to avoid the import tariffs placed on trucks at the time. By adding the seats, the BRAT became a passenger car. Technically. The import taxes were huge on trucks back in the early 80s. Like 10 or 20 % higher than on cars. -
Yes, we've seen it. Dave is working on the fix. In the meantime, do not be concerned, site security has not changed in any way.

That colour definitely suits the car! I like it!

Great to see you back!

Very cool. Definitely watching this one.

Your descriptions sound pretty correct to me. Personally, I think they all belong in the Light Commercial section, but I probably wouldn't move it unless someone complained about its placement. As an aside, you would be shocked at how often people report threads for being in the "wrong spot" and how upset some people get about it. And to further it, how upset people get if their thread is moved.
