There are some gorgeous setups and really nice work being done guys. I need to step up and get on my chassis work. I'm such an engine-based guy, that's all I've been working on -

Ah I see now guys. I couldn't see the pics at work. I still love the design, it'll make an awesome shop truck. -
Very clean Z32 there. My buddy owns a very similar one in real life on SSR's, I'll try to find a pic later.

I love it. I think the goodyear logos are fine, as long as the owner has those radials on there for a track weekend - which is my kinda weekend!

Cannonball Run 2016 "The Aussieball" Official Build Thread

I'm still in...still gathering parts and just brainstorming over how I wanna imagine this build in my head. I think I'm gonna aim for some type of high power Forced Inducted modern V8 setup and try to incorporate as many modernized features as I can think of, while keeping the 60's appearance. -

Can we get some info on whether this would come with an engine and what kind? Didn't they come with the KA24 Nissan engine? (which is the same in the 240sx's and would be really handy for us import builders for a lot of projects) -

Is it just me ...

See I am doing my best at being friendly with the guys I see posting on social media (especially on instagram, which seems like the young-generation-favorite for it's simplicity of "upload from your phone and you're done") and I always try to refer them to this site, but not a lot of younger folks do forums now. I did refer to a couple newer guys already though, and like I said I got nothing but love for this forum and how welcoming and experienced you guys are. -

I'm a "younger guy" as I'm coming up on my 29th birthday... This forum is definitely really welcoming and you guys seem to put up well with my Japanese builds (even though I deleted my under glass posts because I was cluttering the server with my direct picture posts - working on this issue now that I have a host site)... But you guys seem to be nice about my habit of slamming cars with big wheels and "stretched" tires and I think while you're right that 80-90 percent of this hobby is made up of the older dudes (and some gals)...there are quite of few younger peeps out there. I have an instagram just for building my models (for those who don't know it's an application on your phone that takes social media to posting and sharing pictures ONLY) -> and there are plenty of younger kids on there pushing amazing models and great creativity, they're just too young for the whole "forums" and "swap meets" lifestyle because they didn't grow into it. -
Thanks guys. I'll definitely wetsand it. I'm very patient now, wasn't too patient when I started out haha (but I'm pretty sure that's the case for the good majority of us)...like I said, I don't mind patience to fix a model that turned out amazing except for the BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH windshield. I'm on vacation now, but I'll give it a shot when I get back home next week

Oh this one is a beaut. Well done Nie.

Longtime builder, new to group
CFMgarage replied to RestoModGuy's topic in Welcome! Introduce Yourself
Mark, I'm itching to pick up a restoration or a rebuild in a year or two. I have a younger cousin (who is 24) living in Europe. Figured I'll get something and then invite him out to the US for 5-6 months to hang out (and secretly get his help rebuilding something) -
I don't think there's a limit as long as you use an uplaoder site like photobucket or fotki. Oh...in each post...as in each comment? C.r.a.p. that I don't know.

Great looking models, Jim. When I was 11-12, I barely knew how to aim my stream straight in the restroom by myself, let alone build models this caliber... I must add though, unlike you and Mark, I went from 1:1 cars to models...when I got hurt/handicapped, I picked up this hobby as there's no way I would have to bodily ability to bend over an engine bay for hours now. -
57 Cameo WIP
CFMgarage replied to jdhog's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Great start, I love that color! You can easily make some reverse leaf spring mounts though for more realistic lowering -
Hey gentlemen (and ladies)... I finally feel like I have the skill to restore the models I built when I started this hobby. I'd hate to toss them out as they're decent, but I was dumb to clear coat over the windshield, which turned out hazy-foggy-like. I was thinking about sanding it, but doesn't that usually make it just dull and non-seethrough? Is there anything I can do? The purple pond didn't do anything.
