  1. Let them know that their dog barks all day. If that doesn't work, record their dog and play it back LOUD in the middle of the night. When they come over to tell you that your dog barks all night, tell them you don't own a dog it is a recording of what their dog does all day. It will either fix the problem or start a neighbor feud. Keep us posted.
  2. I owned a '79 Rally Nova in high school. I may have to get in on this.
  3. I currently live in Maryland and it has been in the 50's for much of this past week. Last year I bought some land in Montana so I have been checking the temps there daily. Earlier in the week if was -12°F and the wind chill made it feel like -30°F. I will be retired when I move there, so I won't need to go outside. I will just stare out the window at the landscape.
  4. Lets keep this focused on the subject of the thread, 1/32 Aurora kits.
  5. Moved to Q&A section and edited title to include compressors. Still pinned at top.
  6. Yes, that one will work. One thing to consider, that you may not of thought of, is the amount of noise the compressor will generate. A loud compressor that continually runs can quickly drive you out of the room/garage.
  7. The problem is most (not all) folks find it easier to ask same question, that dozens of other folks have asked, than to read a long thread on the subject. Then mods need to either merge it with an existing thread or let it ride. I personally like to have multiple threads (with different titles) as the forum will show up in more searches that way, this is why we don't always merge multiple threads together. We will talk about moving the pinned thread to another topic.
  8. A link at the top of the main landing page for the forum/magazine is hidden?
  9. Just to stop all of the speculation. It was not a disagreement with another member. Bill broke a forum rule and was given a warning point. He took exception to it, posted he was leaving and sent the mods some "feisty" messages. I do not think he will be back.
  10. Sometimes....when models (or other items) are priced extremely high on eBay, it is to sell the same thing cheaper (although at a still inflated price) at a show or elsewhere. Most people check places like eBay and Amazon to see what things are "selling for." So if you are selling a $100 model for $500 and someone has it listed on eBay for $3000, you might actually find someone to buy it for $500 because they think they are getting a deal. As has been stated before, this will continue until folks have to pay for fixed price listings. eBay is like gambling anyway. You can list an item for sale for $100 and get no takers. You can start an auction for the same item with an opening bid of $1 and sell it for $300 (you can also end up selling it for $10).
  11. You have to get lucky (most of the time) when trying to flip cars. I bought a '75 Maverick and a '80 Sunbird for $25 each. The seller said that didn't run and hadn't run in years. Brought a couple charged batteries and a 5 gallon jug of gas. Drove both away and sold them for $200 each the next day. I have owed 20-30 other cars that I lost money on.
  12. This topic has run it's course. Most of you have been here long enough to know the problems with getting the magazine printed and we all see the same negative comments from the same members. All the long term members here know it is subscribe at your own risk. The new rates do not affect existing subscriptions. If the price is to steep for you, don't purchase a new subscription or renew when your existing subscription comes due. Subscriptions are based on number of issues, not length of time. If you are already paid, you will get the number of issues you paid for, as long as the company stays in business. Locked
  13. Well this looks like it has run it's course. I will add, where else are you allowed to complain about the owner and get away with it. Try bad mouthing the other mag or it's employees on their forum. Your post and maybe even your account would be removed within 30 minutes. For that matter, where else do you go where the owner gives you any kind of update? I personally wish he wouldn't provide any updates. Some of the folks I see that regularly complain here are also the ones that use the FREE trading post or the FREE Q&A section that is provided here pretty regularly. At this point subscribe at your own risk, which is really what you do with every other subscription you may get. If any of you go to a gym to workout, you know that it literally could be here today and gone tomorrow (with all of your membership money). Gregg is trying to keep things going and has stated that all subscriptions that have been paid are not based on time but on number of issues. If you paid for 6 or 12 issues, you will get 6 or 12 issues, as long as the company is still in business. Yes, he has a goal of a certain number of issues per year and apparently that isn't possible at this time. Almost every suggestion that has been made in this thread has been made in all the previous threads like this one. Gregg knows about them. In the past he has stated that he wants to keep PRINTING the magazine and does not want to go totally digital and he wants to keep the forum FREE. I will get the last word. Locked.
  14. Without sitting in front of your computer, and seeing how the settings/notifications are configured, I can't offer any other advise. I also have Browser Notifications disabled. At the top right I get notifications when someone quotes one of my posts and when I get a new PM from someone (I also get some moderator specific notices that you would not get). Everything else is turned off, especially all the email notifications. In order to get notifications for threads, you start or post in, you must be following them. So you either need to manually click the follow button in the upper right of a thread or have auto follow selected in your settings. I quoted your post here to see if you get that notification. I also split the discussion out so others can easily find the subject if they are looking for the same type of help.
  15. Lets try to keep on track.....'68 Chevelle.
  16. Go to the account settings in your profile. Under other settings is an area for notification settings. Make sure they are set the way you want them and you should start seeing the notifications again.
  17. Harry did in fact build one. I was able to pull these from his PhotoBucket when his son gave me access. He also had a photo of a 1:1
  18. Cleaned up all of the off-topic posts. Keep it on track folks.
  19. 1967 Dodge Charger. These kits can still be found fairly cheap on eBay.
  20. Please stay away from politics. Some of you are creeping up to the line. Discuss how this can/will impact our hobby. (Trying to keep this in the General section and not move it to Off-Topic)
  21. Have you tried hosting the flyer off site, like on Fotki, and linking to it? Could be the size or the format of the file is not allowed by the forum software.
  22. If this model was 100% accurate, folks here would argue that the manufacturer packaged the kit using cardboard stock that was slightly thinner/thicker than that used on all the old vintage kits form the good ol' days. It's OK to disagree, but keep it civil. Don't make it personal.
  23. They all sell fairly cheap on eBay. $5 for all the other parts is still a pretty good deal. The body would be good to use as a "paint dummy" Try a color, see if you like it.
