  1. This is all getting to be a drag. The rest of the forum always seems to get drawn into these bickering matches. Most of us really don't care about any of this discussion beyond is this tool still around and is the kit going to be reissued. Not sure what testosterone levels have to do with model building. Thread is locked.
  2. A lot of folks have the skill to fix things...if they would only try. Too many folks don't want to turn a wrench anymore and will take a car to the shop for the simplest problems. Props to Cale for getting in there and trying to figure it out. As with any advice, either from the internet, a book or face to face, weed through it and decide what YOU think is right and what YOU are willing to try.
  3. There are a few threads about this subject.
  4. I ordered one from Amazon last night and got a notice that it shipped today. Looking forward to reading it.
  5. I tagged this so Dave can look into it.
  6. So after you click Start New Topic, you don't see tabs that say "Content" and "Poll" right above where you type in the new title?
  7. Everything worked fine for me and the button is in the same place that it has been. Start New Topic Click on Poll tab (Upper Left)
  8. Looks like it has the same sloping trim as the '58 or maybe the air shocks are a little low. Has there ever been a scale model made the someone didn't find fault with?
  9. But does the A/C work?
  10. I have Forza, but cannot drive with the controller. I have plans for a racing seat, wheels and pedals. Wife is blocking it because she knows it will all be sitting in the middle of the floor.
  11. No, it is two days after people assumed a statement would be forthcoming. The owners do not owe us an explanation (although it would be nice). 5/8 was just the day the sale became final.
  12. Mods have to move things.
  13. It's funny that the alternate dimension always returns items to the exact spot that they took them from too.
  14. You can read through this thread. Short of it is that he is still in business and trying to get caught up.
  15. Yep, I have seen that one before. I would drive the heck out of that Challenger wagon. I wouldn't build it, but I would drive it.
  16. Add the side pipes (only car I like with side pipes) and you have one of my dream cars as well.
  17. I didn't like my ring light for model photos. I felt it didn't provide complete coverage. I took a few insect shots that came out nice though.
  18. Had a great trade with ewetwo.
  19. I believe we are getting the "All New Ford Ranger" starting next year. It is decidedly larger (and more expensive) than it's predecessor.
  20. Don't worry, two years after there are phased out there will be the "All New (insert make and model here)". It will only be $5000 more expensive than they are now. You will be able to go up to the self-serve kiosk at your local dealership and select - Light Gray Sedan. Someone will promptly bring your vehicle around to you.
  21. The Gallery has not functioned properly for some time. Dave was going to look into trying to get it straightened out, but I think it was going to take a complete rebuild.
  22. I think it can be argued that a vast majority are not built to be driven on the roads at all. I feel most are built to be dropped off the trailer and parked in the show field/floor. I bet that many have never been over 30 mph. People have been building show only vehicles for decades.
  23. It must just be your area Bill. Here in the DC area, the construction industry has been going strong for many years (even through the recession of the mid 2000's). AutoCad courses fill up quickly in this area and many young folks are still getting in the trades. I don't know much about the machinist trades, but there are two small shops in the same industrial park I am in. Obviously, mechanical drafting has, for the most part, been replaced with computer aided drawing. Tools of the trade have changed, but the basic concept is still there.
  24. There are folks that have entire Fotki alnums dedicated to instructions and scans of the decals. I don't have the web address handy, but I am sure someone can post it.
  25. While I really like the look and idea behind this, I do not think I could live there. I like wide open spaces. I think they really thought this idea would take off, but it has been slow to happen. I know there are similar structures in Europe.
