  1. That's a great way to see what's being built, talk to builders, find those "Holy Grail" kits, and aftermarket stuff to really dress one up! There is also a NNL in Atlanta in the fall, every year. I didn't make it this year, but hope to go in 2020.
  2. Leroy, I notice your location says Tennessee. What part of the Volunteer state are you in? I live in Lawrenceburg, Tn.
  3. Yeah...those fights in the checkout line at Wal-Mart don't seem to be very inviting!! Makes me want to stay in, too!
  4. New parts, as well as restoring old parts that were missing for many years.
  5. Great progress, Steve! Would a dark brown color be suitable for the vinyl top? It may not have been a color choice in '68, tho.
  6. Great little kit! Goes together well. My only trouble were the tiny door mirrors. I did mine in this green: I used Model Master Sublime Green.
  7. Just grabbed a sealed AMT '67 Impala kit from eBay. Now, maybe I can get the old AMT '69 Impala hardtop out of mothballs, and on the bench! And, here's another deal on the 'Bay....... https://www.http://onlinescalemodelers.proboards.com/thread/3144/vote-december-2019-momebay.com/itm/Vintage-Original-MPC-1968-Chevrolet-Impala-SS-427-HT-Sports-Coupe-Model-Car/202833506940?hash=item2f39d1b27c:g:wScAAOSwUvhd4AIS
  8. Great looking RR builds! And ya got TWO of 'em!!! Makin' me jealous! HAHAHA Great save on the broken roof. I wouldn't have guessed it without you telling on yourself! LOL
  9. WOW!!! What a beautiful Ford! And, it's the ultimate interceptor!!
  10. How about a Monte Carlo?
  11. Bad guy, eh?? Well....I'm a left-handed, old pipefitter. Does that qualify me? HAHAHA
  12. That's a unique air induction system!
  13. A lot of new vehicles are sold in Tennessee without a front bracket. My 2017 Chrysler 300s doesn't have one.
  14. I think these are good issues. I noticed the Coronet states that it is a snap together kit. If it's the same as the Polar Lights kit, it still has some nice detail. The three headed monster looks interesting.
  15. I tend to agree. It seems I remember having a set of those in the spare parts box at one point. Back when these kits were new (1967) I rarely ever used the stock wheels or wheel covers, so they ended up in the box of wheels. I'll dig around when I get a minute.
  16. It might actually depend on the year model being built. Tennessee only requires one plate now, but we had to have two plates into the seventies. I also picked up a pair of vintage 1968 Michigan plates at a car show swap meet a few years ago.
  17. This one has my interest.
  18. It looks great, Mike! Well done! Interior looks really cozy. The color suits the body style, IMHO.
  19. Very nicely done! The red makes the whole car stand out.
  20. Being a 43 year veteran of the pipefitting industry, I freely admit that I am NOT a computer GURU! I can jam one up with the best of 'em! I currently have a Windows7 that will need to be upgraded to Windows10 before January 1. I dread it!
  21. I once used a sheet of fine grained cork to represent an asphalt driveway. Painted flat black and weathered a bit, I thought it looked pretty good.
  22. Great to see new members join! Look around and jump in when you find a spot! And remember....all questions will most likely be answered! LoL
  23. Welcome aboard! Sounds like you have a good handle on the hobby! Plenty model building "veterans" around here to learn from. Heck, I'm past 60 and I'm still learnin'!!
  24. Great save! I like what ya did with the vent window trim and the backlight trim. One way I address side markers at times, is to put a bit of BMF down first, then hit it with stop light red, or turn signal amber.
  25. Nice looking products!
