  1. I usually try to participate in these quizzes, but I've been super busy, lately.
  2. Another thing to consider is doing a test fit after you have everything painted a final time. It's amazing how the thickness of paint can alter how things fit together.
  3. Fantastic Pontiac! I agree with everyone about the color choices. Very clean detail work, also. I wonder if there is a two door version of the interior available. I believe the unbuilt Pontiac kit I have is a two door sedan. One of my aunts had a '55 two door in black and white.
  4. The clear is certainly bringing out the color, now. Looking good!
  5. I think a stock Mk VII LSC would be a great "new tool" subject.
  6. Looking mighty nice, Steve! What is the name of the color? Mrs. Bucky had a '65 GTO in that same color. I'll need some of this MCW paint when I get ready to do a replica of that one.
  7. I agree with you about the MCW color. It's gonna look great all polished up.
  8. Nice looking paint job, and a real nifty interior!
  9. For these metallic paints, do you make any special adjustments to your airbrush?
  10. Nice color, and good plan for the following coats. How well do the two brands of paint interact with each other?
  11. Would any of the MPC 70's era TransAm engines work for this project?
  12. Congratulations on some fantastic wins! Gorgeous MOPAR! I'd say it has earned a resting spot in the display. Maybe more folks can see it, and your other fabulous builds, when you start offering guided tours of your hobby lair! I'll buy a ticket!!
  13. My very first one was a 1/32 scale Studebaker Lark snap kit my aunt gave me for my 7th birthday. It had a rubber band that you twisted up to make it scoot across the table.
  14. I agree with the other fellas. Kris is great to do business with. The only wired distributors I use come from MAD.
  15. Exceptional Pontiac! Super smooth black paint!
  16. I think it's a nice looking little car.
  17. That is one fabulous Ford! Top notch work on this one!
  18. I always took issue with mislabeled kits, such as the Plymouth Duster kit that clearly has a Dodge Dart Sport inside the box. Also, some of the "Photo of actual model" box art shows parts that are not included in the box, which could be a different set of wheels, or tires, etc. I have no problem with the Retro box art, and I'd be okay with the photo box art, if it actually depicted what is in the box.
  19. I had one of those dimmer switches short out one dark night and left me stranded. I stomped the switch to dim the lights, and they went out, completely! That was on an old Chevelle Malibu.
  20. I remember when they all had a version of "Dove Gray". Essentially gray primer with a shiny clear coat. LoL I had a '79 Mercury Grand Marquis in that color.
  21. Very well done! I could see a hot rod like this easing its way into our local cruise in parking lot! I'm surprised nobody has mentioned what appears to be a checkerboard firewall. Looks like a nice touch to me!
  22. I use fotki, also.
  23. Over 200k? Hmmm.....he must not have had enough left over cash for a non-sticky throttle, and some good brakes! I've had brake failure on three different vehicles in my day. A 1965 Ford Falcon, a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am, and a 1968 Imperial Crown. Each time, my first instinct was to shove the shifter into neutral, and head for something other than another vehicle. But, of course, I didn't have over $200K wrapped up in all three vehicles, much less just one.

Top notch work on this one! Perfect color for this one, too!
  25. Sounds like a little testing might be called for, using different primers. It might cost a few pennies for the basecoat, but in the long run, it might keep trouble down to a minimum.
