I would like to know if this source, and specifically the "file" is worth pursuing. I asked one local guy, his printer is too small for starters. Can it be done in 1/24? Mercedes-Benz Ponton 180 W120 1953 3D model (Complete)

Ferrari 410 SA Ghia 1956 by Fernando Pinto Portugal
89AKurt replied to 89AKurt's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
That would be a nice addition to a collection. I had to look up what the 1955 Ghia Gilda was, turbine powered! I closer rendition is the 1956 Chrysler Dart (Ghia), also designed by Ghia, IMHO is a better design. Those should keep you busy! The Berton is a nice looking car, but doesn't tempt me enough to buy it.- 17 replies

Ferrari 410 SA Ghia 1956 by Fernando Pinto Portugal

Brand new resin kit of the unusual Ferrari 410 Superamerica Ghia. I've kept my eye on his Facebook page, after several years he posted that this was about ready, so I PMed him to say I was interested. I said that I look for his eBay listings, he said don't do that, he gave me the price and made the sale that way. Ordered August 4, seems like the usual across the ocean service. Nice cardboard box with his artwork top and one end. Well packed in bubblewrap. It's a curbside, but I have plans. You can tell it's handmade, not too thick a body. His famous real wire wheels, rims are painted, and the resin tires have an authentic looking tread. Nice decals. The grill is resin; I asked if he considered doing that with photo-etch, he said this is laser cut. The photo-etch is top notch. I've had this book a long time, so have a great start for reference. This is my plan (of mice and men), restorod! The Revell 2005 575M Maranello based Superamerica is a little shorter in wheelbase, but the width is about the same. Only a nut like me would think of making an already challenging resin kit more so by kitbashing. ? I'm also considering painting turquoise, just to avoid RED. But who knows, I have so many other future projects where I thought the same thing. I've learned to get what I want, NOW, such as the Fisher Alfa Romeo BAT5.- 17 replies

Good to see you have reset, and resumed your project! Have to ask, those side windows slide? ? -
I keep telling myself, this will be the last model, then something else shows up. ? I have always dug this weird finned Ferrari, it's a love it or hate it design. Feranado had posted the artwork on his Facebook page, then last year he had a 1/32 scale version ready, then recently he indicated the 1/24 scale was about to launch. I PMed him to say I've been waiting for it, he said I could order now, so of course I sprung for it. I will start a new topic in WIP.......

Holy smokes, that's a killer model! Those stripes make your eyes spaz at all? -
I would not use Sharpie pen. At least in AZ, the sun's UV rays fade it out quick, like a couple of years. I'm no pro on painting them, so will lurk and learn.

Regarding the claim of influencing bad decisions, were they wearing Nikes? Came across this doofus, taking his pickup through some mud. Apparently he is a You Tube star, I heard another "star" (he is really hyper in presentation, bought a trashed Bugatti....) talking about making $2M with his channel, so the fine is easily payable if this doofus is as popular. The model railroad club in my town, had a swap meet / show last week. One of the guys came on the local radio talk show to promote and talk about it. Of course this subject came up. This is not unique to our hobby. Anything that counts on memories, mechanical things, and living in want but not abundance and finally being able to get stuff you couldn't when growing up, is not interesting. I could elaborate, but certain issues are not allowed on this forum.

I'm with you on that one! But.... but the remake of The Italian Job used it, which fit perfectly. I have several other songs that I think suck, that the radio always plays, nice to have a remote.
