  1. A masterpiece. I'm doing a barn find, just avoid all that effort. ?
  2. Good job! Came out great!
  3. Appreciate that. Thanks! ? Yes, the repaint everything the same color. How would it look in root beer brown? Thank you too! See you in Once Upon A Time. ?
  4. Started life in Idaho, so it has rust worm underneath, door sills are always first to go. I like the '72 Ford trucks, the Mobieus kits look nice, but I have enough projects. Anyway, back to not-enough-WIPs.
  5. Thank you! You have decisions to make before starting out. Changing wheel/tires would be first choice.
  6. I didn't think of rear IR. ?
  7. ? I'm not that bad, yet. Not me. Depends on the project. Paint is becoming annoying. Getting over my head is an issue.
  8. I own the next generation Chevy pickup ('68 first day picture) and duplicated the previously owned '69, both are Long Beds. I've seen one in town that was cut into a Short Bed, they left the well done stitches unpainted. Makes me think of Hollyweird celebrities with plastic surgery. I'll watch this too. You happen to be on the '67-'72 Chevy Trucks forum?
  9. You still have 3/4 of the year to go. ? No mufflers? ? Could do a reverse of why there are 'cut-offs'. I have a roll of Tamiya tape, got messed up laying in with other stuff, and looking like a cinnamon roll due to gravity. I would put between cardboard to keep it straight.
  10. So, exactly 3 years later, I still haven't built either one. ? Have acquired aftermarket goodies, such as "gravel" tires and correct wheels. Also got the Bobby Unser decals. I see on Spot Model, a transkit for the Pikes Peak 1987 car. The Beemax kit does not have "trunk" detail. Going to have lots of useless PC decals left over.
  11. I know the last post is just over 2 years old. ⏳ Love the "weathering"! Did I miss it in Under Glass? I was looking at mine, it's next in the cue. Will study this topic before commencing.
  12. Yes, thought it's a '52, but I'm no Ford expert. My dad owned a new one, his dad who was a sign painter, did the doors and tailgate. Have a bunch of nice photos for reference. Have the paint for the VW Beetle they owned later which looks exactly the same. The transkit is the whole body and bed. Different hood and of course emblems. Thanks so much for saying that. I respect the cars very much, have attended several rallies, they kick butt, but the Evos at the time were equal. Rode in the same year Subie 4 door on a rally cross. I've thought of building a rally version, but have several other races car to build. Have several at this location, more of the truck, but this is a good grill shot.
  13. Thank you! ? Thanks for saying that. Appreciate it. Thanks! The "phone dial" wheels are the same design as latter Countachs. I have a couple of Miura kits, then the photo-etch edition came out. Thank you too! ? It has potential. Thought of putting a Hellcat engine in. Thank you. Much gratitude. ?
  14. All I got from the cleaned out Model Master racks at Hobby Bench in Phoenix. I should have taken a picture of the racks, figured someone already has. Anyway, I could use these colors. There is a tiny drill bit taped to the yellow.
  15. Top notch build! I tried another tint, had giant bubbles, but as accurate for the beater pickup. The license plate is bent up, my daughter showed her Mazda G3 (I think) with bent plate, so now I know. The blanket is a great idea! Appreciate all the work.
  16. Calling this done. How does the line in Christine go, "You can't polish a ?"? Gunze - Sangyo motorized era. The real car, this one is the prototype. Beginning of the side light mandate, before battering ram bumpers were required. It sort of bombed, but just because of rarity, they are desirable. The kit doesn't do it justice. This is just before the Countach stole the show. Popular color was refrigerator white, bumpers were black. ? The right box was trashed, that is what was sacrificed, but was able to create a scale box from the remains. The red plastic bled through Tamiya putty, was concerned about bleed through. WIP: Testors (Gunze Sangyo) Lamborghini Spelling Bee Special (Silhouette) for the horror show. ? Don't look too close. Getting that Huracan color down right killed me. Cloudy lighting helped hide the defects. ? I figured it's easy enough to make a Carbon-Fiber replacement roof panel. Major (to me) correction was the front leading flare was moved back. The "phone dial" wheel holes have been drilled larger, but still the tires are totally wrong; Tamiya titanium gold. The G-S kit has the metal battery terminals, but not a motor; I fabricated single AA battery terminals to run the front turn signal lights. It's subpar for me, weathered like it was driven in the rain. Used the '68 Chevy hood for the studio. This is using the CA Pit Stop diorama It would be the background for a future Countach, Muria, etc. ?
  17. Thank you. Could fake it with cloudy lighting today. Time for DONE topic. Made space on the CA Pit Stop diorama.
  18. Whew! ? I have the Porsche 911 in the stash.........
  19. I have the GTS kit, so will watch this build! Looking good so far.
  20. Looks pretty cool! Forgive my ignorance, this based on a real car?
