  1. *Had to* get the Porsche, the MINI was only $5 because it had a note the roof was sawed off, no, it's made that way. Military cargo for trucks in my stash. And the magazine with coverage of a contest I attended, the race car I built.
  2. VINTAGE SODA COOLER 1/24 scale, includes resin box, vacuum-formed handle, steel wire, decal (chose "the real thing" or Royal Crown), instructions. US$20, plus shipping [west USA $3.66, east USA $4.06, Canada $10.50, Germany $14.25, other countries to be determined. PayPal available. Based on the TempRite Mfg. Co. steel cooler from the 50s. COKE_Cooler_instructions_ver2.pdf
  3. Thank you. Peteski made the decals for me. Just PM me.
  4. I finally put together this very complicated, multi media model of a vintage soda drink cooler. ? I made a Coca-Cola cooler before, happened to have almost correct decals. Now I have both versions of accurate decals, so I made this version for taking pictures to use in the instructions, and promotion. The box is resin, the lid handle is vacuum-form, and the handle is wire. So I have technically finished another model! ? It has an operating feature too. ?
  5. I'll back this idea. Have two cars that I've been wanting to build. They wouldn't win a real race, but with a different engine one would be a qualifier.
  6. Yea! I really want a Nissan Juke kit! ? "Modern cars" for the title, why didn't you put CHARGER and HELLCAT CHALLENGER in your title? There is a "pet peeve" topic, maybe I should add people who have super vague and useless titles for topics that a search won't work on. In the future, if someone wanted to search for this subject, your title won't help at all. For old farts like me, we have a stash of what was "modern" at the time we bought them, and now some are rare and collectible because it costs to continue producing them. For example the '72 Chevy pickup, run-of-the-mill pickup, now look at eBay prices. Add lawyer overhead, and license fees.
  7. Funny I read this topic earlier today, then I just saw this article: R&T: These Guys Just Drove an E63 AMG Across America in a Record 27 Hours 25 Minutes Gumball Rally is one of my favorite movies.... just sayin'.
  8. Forgot about this thread..... just driving downtown Prescott in my '69 Chevy pickup, a Ferrari in front.... oh wait, two ..... oh what's that on the right ..... oh wait, what's over to the left .... I confess, a friend called me: "You downtown?" Me: "No, why?" Him: "Bunch of Ferraris, more pulling in." ~click~
  9. I like different, and that looks pretty awesome! Checked out your Surplus - gas turbine powered '50 Ford F1 WIP thread, was that November of *this* year? ?
  10. Wife works at the local college in their dance program, was choreographer for their Phantom of the Opera show, which sold out every show, a huge hit. They had a masquerade mask contest, so I wanted to try something different. I based the design on several Picasso portraits, and one mask he did. Made out of Celluclay, used sunglasses for the support. (BTW: I started a similar topic: Tales from Mr. Fix-It ?) Making the head from styrofoam: Massive clip-on: Sexy selfie in the bathroom shot: At the theater:
  11. much flubberation resonance
  12. I have the perfect decals, for either version.
  13. Going like a herd of turtles.... dropped to page 3. ? Only because I'm getting one of my vintage coke coolers made for pictures, thought I better paint something. First time I have used the Tamiya primer, think I like it! Need to touch up with some sandpaper before the color is painted. Since the cooler handle is aluminum, made sense to paint the engine and other parts for this project. Also used Alclad stainless steel on the brake disks, and chrome on the wipers and mirror. Instructions say the headers should be rust, I mixed steel with just a drop of brown.
  14. Sorry, I missed this! I'm working on making a bunch at the moment, have correct decals, building one and taking pictures so I can write up a killer instruction sheet. Only reason I saw this, thought I had started a topic but couldn't find it. This is assembled, two parts. ? Thanks for finding and posting my topic!
  15. I have the Revell DB4, so can say I've never seen one of these. Looks AWESOME!
  16. My biggest pet peeve, not everyone builds the same subjects I like, and not to the same extremely perfect high standards that I so easily and perfectly execute, what's everybody's problem? ? Seriously, this is such a subjective topic, fun to read what we have to deal with, much like life. Without getting into bashing certain types of ..... uh ..... vehicles, what fun is that? When I tell someone that I build models, they say "oh I built some when I was a kid" which implies something like I haven't grown up? ?
  17. I know about that source. The sizes don't get bigger than what, 2mm? Also it's brass, what's the point for s.s. exhaust tips if I have to paint, might as well use plastic. Their connectors are a great idea, for making roll cages. Thanks. Think the wall thickness is still too much, for me. But I will scout around. Ok thanks. What's with the error? NOW I KNOW! Thank you. Did not see this source when I did a search. They have prices, and short lengths, will pursue. My computer says it's Not Secure, did hit that earlier, 30" & 60" lengths. THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR HELPING OUT! *EDIT* Had all your comments quoted, let's see if this works.
  18. I know about K&S, but the selection is very limited. I see numerous online sources for stainless steel hypodermic type of tubing. Anyone have a good source that does small orders? I'm looking for +-1mm and/or 1/16" to maybe 5mm and/or 3/16" diameter, very thin wall, don't know what grade. It would be nice if they offered variety packs. I see some have 5' lengths, a bit long. Primary use would be exhaust tips. Wanted to ask before I rolled the dice......
