  1. Glad to have you hang out! I'm done with trying to be a collector. It's much like having a trailer queen, roll off for a car show, be paranoid about people touching it, see a rain cloud and evacuate like a hurricane is going to blow in. Replicas & Miniatures of MD Norm? Used his interior parts for the California (?icon picture). I have his V12 kit, that would take a year in itself. FPPM? *edit* Historic Racing Miniatures is the marketed wheels. I'm not doing this since the car I chose has wire wheels. I've been working on removing ejection pin marks, and putty filling all sink holes that I find.
  2. because quality marbles
  3. ? You too? Thanks for posting a link showing a picture, I should test the paint on different base coats. I have the Hobby Design, and another brand (not home at the moment) aluminum rim/photo-etch wire wheels, you guys are prompting me to consider using them, but have several other kits that are the target projects.
  4. * s/n 11057 looks very close to the nail polish that I was planning to use! The picture above is actually a 330 GTS; I knew someone who had the GTC when I was a teenager, I begged him for a ride and finally got it, but it needed a tuneup and he was a bit embarrassed. The taillights, side vents, and windshield rake are the most obvious clues. Appreciate the links, bookmarked the Barchetta for future use. Thank you. Oh good, hope I inspired you. ? I know about doors, agree, that's going to be decided later, for sure adding steel just for weight. Last projects, Porndy, Mongrel, and some others were practice, still not perfect, but will see.
  5. This kit may be the first Tamiya I ever built, when I was a teenager! I didn't do the decals, made it a street car. It should be fun to start, *and* finish before next year.
  6. My favorite, love that's it's "weathered" like a proper rally race car after a few stages. Thanks for posting!
  7. I've seen a similar plane at the Champlin Museum in Mesa (now closed I just found out). Amazing they have been able to keep such old aircraft flying, especially when seeing it close up. Sad this happened, but this is life on planet Earth. If you had a choice in how to die, car accident on the freeway going to work, or in a historic B-17 doing something you love...... ? RIP
  8. Thanks! Be sure to check the tires are separated from the plastic! ?
  9. I looked before dredging up, last month, thanks for the recommendation. "... removes a fine swarf ..." ?
  10. Incredible workmanship! You use the AK Interactive Extreme Weathered Vehicles book?
  11. BINGO! I'm a native Zonie, was getting annoyed at people on Fecesbook in a Prescott group saying something like "I moved here to get away from crazy growth, need to stop ruining my town!" I posted this meme, and was promptly blocked from that group. ?
  12. ???☄️⚡???️ Glad I'm into Ferraris. ?
  13. You should be pleased with that! I've been avoiding painting silver lately, yours looks great!
  14. Ferrari 275 GTS by Italeri, labeled as the Spyder N.A.R.T. I got this years ago at a local r/c hobby shop that didn't last long, for about $15, I didn't have to think twice about it. Even though I have three WIP started last century, this has been staring at me from the stash. It has got to be the sexiest Ferrari, close second is the 250 GTO which was vying for my attention. My plan is to improve a few things, not go overboard (famous last words). First to go are the horrid truck tires, have a decent set from the horrid Aoshima VW Beetle kit that fit the nice wire wheels, are lower profile and most likely wider than correct, but looks much better. The windshield frame has a broken post, so will embed a steel wire, in both, to make stronger and give a chance of adjustment if required. Looks easy to make the wheels steerable. The headlights are a pet peeve, the center pin in the lens and flat reflector are getting fixed (taillights are similar but just the pin removal should work). I'm seriously thinking of opening the doors, will add steel plates to the chassis and sill before cutting, the door panels are separate so it begs to be done. Plug wires and radiator hoses will *have to* be added. I've collected some cool aftermarket emblems and parts over the years, so even though the decals are nice, that's a *have to*. Have the pearl dark red nail 'polish' picked out. If I'm feeling really ambitious, will vacuum form headlight covers. Started today with the basic assembly of the engine and transaxle, suspension, and other things that are two parts. It's decent quality, needs some mold line scraping, a few parts have flashing, but parts fit really well. I used Testors tube and Flex-i-file liquid glue for steps so far, exception is the rear body where the beautiful spoiler lip could be melted, so used superglue. Also used Squadron putty to fill minor ejection pin marks. Need to think about stance, lowering just 1 mm would help.
  15. Only because I love the subject..... (that's so subjective isn't it) .... what a cool project! I had considered that color when doing the Aerovette, but decided it didn't compliment, in this case it looks great! Well done. The real ones are scarce and becoming unobtanium.
  16. I feel your pain! Are they doing it so 5G works? I have an opposite beef, with my next door neighbor to the south. When I built my passive solar home, they had no trees. They planted a Pine that grew really fast, and big, so that now blocks western sun. They also have allergy Junipers to the east that are getting huge, hanging over my driveway and dropping BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH, can block the sun in the morning. But the final straw is they are nursing another Juniper directly south, which will block most of the sun if I don't cut it down at 7:30 some morning. They are tree huggers, don't give a rats about my "green" energy solar access. This Winter solstice I will mark the shadow line on my house with tape and take a picture, suspect I will have to sue them. We also have to worry about wildfire danger, not a good idea to have trees next to the house that will catch fire like Paradise CA experienced. We can't win for losing!

  18. New Jay Leno video Bisimoto's 850HP Twin-Turbo 911 - Jay Leno’s Garage.
  19. Thank you, that's what inspired me to knock this out. Thank you too! Cool! Thanks for posting that. That 1/20 model, no louvered glass window, wheel center caps, but it has windshield wipers.
