  1. Nice to see one of these old kits built! BTW: Love #.
  2. Nice, I like the color. These are getting into collectible category now. I did the BTCC version last century,.
  3. My dad hated cats. After I got my own house (built in 1985), a friend in Salt Lake who had cats extolled the virtues of them, so picked one up from kids in front of a grocery store. Had many since, my children tended to bring them home. Current crew, indoor only, Coyotes don't make good friends.
  4. Since I couldn't get Testors Dullcote, have been using Model Masters flat clear lacquer. I'm not totally satisfied in the result, still has some sheen, unlike regular flat color paint. Example here.
  5. First time I have seen this WIP, looks great! I have a project that I want to weather like this, will check back in for inspiration.
  6. That's a beautiful car, and looks like perfect execution. Doing the pinstripe decals must have been fun.
  7. Looked through the pictures! 4 door Cobra, dirty rally Subi, looks like more entries than GSL. Only two dioramas? I should consider entering in the future.
  8. I have used an epoxy putty, got many years ago, does dry really hard, but it also shrinks and warps the body if given a chance. I recently tried Milliput, but don't like how it stays sort of soft, like Sculpty bake-in-the-oven consistency.
  9. Yes it is. He fitted the barrel chambered for .270 Winchester, he also changed the bolt so it clears the scope, he had a jig and used a torch and huge hammer to forge that. The bolt is engine-turned. Hope you don't mind me hijacking your topic. He was a NPS Ranger, when stationed at Grand Canyon, was tasked with ferral Burro mitigation (think that's the PC way to say it today), because they were screwing up the delicate environment and competing with Big Horn Sheep, and causing erosion. The obvious solution to him, was to hunt them. They used Air Force helicopters to bring him in (have some fuzzy B&W pictures taken from the chopper). I have a picture of him with one, but it's kind of ... you know. Due to this effort, the adopt-a-burro program was launched. I would bet some roam Oatman today.
  10. Hope to see you do something with it! I don't like the simple frame/chassis on the AMT kit. I owned a '69, and currently a '68 pickup, so I'll keep my eye open.
  11. Thanks for giving me the link in your WIP thread. Looks good! Much better than the AMT kit, which I had to wreck.
  12. Oh good! I try to link back when I start a new thread of accomplishment, thank you.
  13. I've built a few, have a couple, and sold the Maserati recently. You have great taste in cars!
  14. Glad you will get the book! My dad died years ago, I recall P.O. Ackley name often. I have this rifle that he built before I was born. Cool that Bill offered to do that!
