Oh good! I try to link back when I start a new thread of accomplishment, thank you.

I've built a few, have a couple, and sold the Maserati recently. You have great taste in cars! -

Resin copy of rifle buttplate? (That can stand up to field use)
89AKurt replied to LDO's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Glad you will get the book! My dad died years ago, I recall P.O. Ackley name often. I have this rifle that he built before I was born. Cool that Bill offered to do that! -
Porsche Outlaws & Hot Rods
89AKurt replied to afx's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Went down the rabbit hole in Pinterest, came across this photoshop image, at least it has Porsche headlights. Looks like a VW Beetle morphed into a Veyron. This is way off base of the thread topic, but wanted to drop somewhere. https://myhotposters.com/products/bugatti-veyron-1945-old-retro-car-poster?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Pinterest -
Accidentally found this via a search. I see nothing posted since 2017. I got the Italeri kit that is incomplete at a model show. It's much better than the horrid AMT kit. Mine is missing all the chrome parts, chassis, tires. It's gonna be a resto-rod. Look forward to any updates!

I was given one of these, a kid painted the body and glass that is goober-glued together, with nail polish. Missing two tires. But decals are untouched. Who wants it? This should be a cakewalk!

My dad was a gunsmith and Mauser collector, wrote the book The Commercial Mauser '98 Sporting Rifle. Is your rifle custom made, with a collectible value? If so, fixing that would be the best option. Otherwise, I'm going to suggest a resin copy of what you propose, would need to be colored almost black. -

Very well done! -
LOL it certainly was. I started looking at resuming my Paris-Dakar 959, which become a cluster-you-know-what, one reason because it's a real car, needs to be representative and not made up. I should be able to finish it, you know?

Please don't taunt me to engage in this discussion! So much to say, so little time. Wonder when our plastic models will be banned? White metal casting is already an issue if you wish to be legit.

Was it the later kit, with an engine? I have most of my models, some in the junkyard. This needed an alternator. I've had one in the parts box for decades, started with cutting off the pulley side, then adding a scrounged electronic device gear for the fan portion, and another scrounged thing that looks too cool to not use. I punched out the aluminum pulley faces, a photo-etch screw head added. Made the mount out of aluminum printing plate, I know it could have bolt heads, and adjustable mount for the alternator, but it wouldn't really been visible. Made it more of a challenge gluing in place *after* everything else has been installed, like a ship in a bottle.

Thank you for this review, and close-up pictures. If this was something I *really* wanted, would add to my collection. He has another subject I will get when he gets around to it. I'm on the same page regarding priorities, been thinking about dredging up a WIP. Again, thanks. -

Thank you! Good, that's what this forum is about, get models built! The 904 took only 55 years for coming to life.

Sweet! I saw that on his Fakebook page, can you do a review?

It was approaching limo proportions. That's why I added the Indy nose and tacked on the license plate that way. Maybe I should have painted yellow.
