He better not screw up that Ferrari 330GTC! My dad knew someone who had one, I was a young teen, every time we visited I bugged him for a ride. Finally he took me out, was running rough because it needed a tuneup (think that was required every thousand miles or so LOL). Prices at auction are ridiculous. Thanks for sharing pictures.

Very nice job! This is a kit on my someday list. Feel lucky I got the HRM resin engine for it (still waiting on the Porsche 917 engine). Definitely top of my list too. The 917 is on the list, add some Lotus and Jaguars.

I have not used either of those products, but I have done that with Squadron putty and regular CA glue.

Good question! I've had some of mine that did not get an award that got published, to my surprise. Don't worry about it.

I've been finding that out, many different model groups that are based on location of the Admins, the primary subject matter, how long in existence, etc. I do see the trend for the younger crowd is Tuners (for example). I joined a scratch-built model group, and then was able to see what people were into, and found it was R/C trucks mostly, which are still amazing, but I found out long ago what a money pit R/C is. I have also seen a real jet-powered SR-71 R/C plane, so when money is not limited....... THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT, JUST DIFFERENT.

Was wondering what a "stud" is, won't help if someone searches "Studebaker" you know. I like this, it's a classic, and good use of a Corvette.

Cool way to use a crappy model, good job! I've done something like this with a Countach.

Beautiful job on those FORDs! I used to own a '57 Chevy, and everyone refers to them as tri-fives. First time I have seen it used for Fords. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tri-Five

I belong to the Old Farts Club, apparently the super majority on this forum. I'm going to be 57 next month. Was born in Page, AZ when the Glen Canyon Dam was about a third of the way up, and it's close to the end of it's useful lifespan; Will states I want my ashes dumped into the lake, if there still is one. Been building off and on since maybe 10.

Oh Dann the Man, how can you stand seeing those pulleys and serpentine belt one-piece part? Don't you *need to* carefully saw those off, turn new pulleys from titanium, and wrap a grooved belt around them? Loving your progress!

Great discussion thread! I think the GSL show has had sessions to discuss the hobby that reflects what everyone above has said. We humans are a weird lot, always evolving, never stuck in the same mode. Well, always some exceptions. To say interest in cars in general is dying, go to any car show, and check out some of the customs that cost more than our homes, check out the super dooper exotics that are being built for the super dooper rich, but of course the TV shows about cars are mostly older people, just like we see in our hobby. It's unrealistic to expect to see half the demographics of a model show being younger than you, that's the trouble with getting old. This is why model clubs exist. In my small town, there are 3, but most of the guys are into military, so I *have to* represent the automotive part of the hobby. Once in a while a teen is invited. But I suspect video games, internet trolling, and chasing girls is more of a priority. There is also an influence through the schools that I could go into that could get me banned from this forum, so I'll just leave it here.
