  1. I'm learning stuff here, so keep up repeating yourselves! As Richard said, Model Master gums up even when wet sanding, and takes forever to cure.
  2. I built this several years ago. It went together good enough. One of the flag decals is printed reverse, does not match the shape of the plastic. This is one of the few models I built box stock. The one piece track/wheels drives me nuts, would kit bash a real tank or halftrack set if I ever did this again.
  3. Thanks, good to know regarding pictures. I'm waiting with baited breath for the Beemax kit. Spot Model says it will be a really nice kit.
  4. Well, based on the vague topic title, was going to say that when I had MINI Coopers, I was lucky to get a year out of a set of tires. Can't imagine why. After reading above comments, I see the issue is how long without driving the heck out of them. My '69 Chevy pickup has Khumo tires that have not been produced for awhile, receipt shows installed 1998, so 19 years. When I had a '57 Chevy wagon, I had brand new Goodyear tires, and had a front blow out at speed limit on a two lane, it was scary enough to never touch that brand again. So I would say what brand, if outside the whole time, etc.
  5. Did not see that anyone has shown this particular Audi Quattro kit, which is a low volume resin kit made in France. It represents the pinnacle of the Group B rally cars, infamously called Killer B due to extreme performance mixed with stupid spectators standing on the edge of the roads. I'm planning to build Walter Roehrl's car, with appropriate "weathering". This model has the engine, some other kits do not. I am going to use the Facebook embed method, since I've noticed old posts using photo hosting sites are now useless, and I don't want to use up my allotted space on this forum. I have basic descriptions on each of my photos. (if this does not work, please let me know)
  6. Excellent concept and execution! I love the Arizona license plate!!
  7. I'm glad you posted this tip. I noticed that too, so I learned something today. This is a very well done model! I love the color too, seems like turquoise wasn't invented until 1955. I have this kit too, looks very nice for an AMT, and yours is done!
  8. That must have been a fun project! The real car is very imaginative, so understand why you had to do this, congrats! I have the Monogram, and Revell kits, but my plan is to do a real wagon, not a Nomad.
  9. That '51 Ford Bronco is very cool. I recently got a resin conversion for the '51 - '52, to do my dad's '51, so that is still available. I have a 2016 Honda Civic Coupe, which looks huge compared to the '87 Civic. Wish they would resurrect the CRX theme.
  10. You are certainly welcome! I find it funny about photo-etch brake disks for carbon-ceramic applications, just isn't right. I built the Volvo BTCC wagon years ago, painted the disks flat black, and used a soft lead pencil to simulate the look. I need to look for your brake calipers and brake lines, that's crazy territory (like I'm not in any way). I've hated on Scale Motorsport c-f decals, so understand you not doing that. Appreciate you explaining what parts you scratch build, can't tell when painted. Rattle cans, keep me away from those!!!! Now I'm more impressed.
  11. I live in Prescott! The first forum I joined was the MINI Cooper forum (northamericanmotoring) in September 2005. When I was sitting at the computer, trying to think of a screen name, thought "where would I rather be, than here?" What came to mind was blasting over to Jerome on 89A, so I came up with 89AKurt, sort of curves off the tongue. Posted 12,295 times! Love to mountain bike ride, Sedona is almost as cool as Moab, Utah.
