  1. Egads! Those are awful wire wheels! Good choice, glad you don't go for the wagon wheel look. I've owned newer cars, such as 1988 Oldsmobile 98 and then a '89 Buick Park Avenue (wife's choice), that had the fake wire wheel hubcaps. I hated those, noisy clunky at slow speed, impossible to clean. I switched out for regular wheel covers on the Buick, so understand the drive to ditch the wire wheels!
  2. Don't recall seeing a kit to begin with. Nice job, and the really cool thing, you built it!
  3. I have that kit! But who knows when I'll build it, a few others to choose from. Now I'll have to look for just distributors, I recently got a whole HRM engine. Isn't there a Comp... a ....... zoomie kit already? Look forward to see your progress!
  4. I wish the best karma for building yours! I got the kit with a GSL contestant bag, so I knocked it Out Of Box without worrying about a shiny paint job. I opened up the grill, which messed it up, but that was a bonus in this case. Getting the front parts on was like being blindfolded. There is no body/chassis mount at the back, so plan on adding something like a perch with perhaps using screws (I do that on most builds now). Otherwise it was a fun project.
  5. Agree with espo. My first diorama was a horrid AMT kit, diorama brought it to life.
  6. That's looks mighty fine! Much better than the Revell kit. Funny about the hood not opening. Nice wheels too.
  7. You did a great job! I LOVE the paint job. I wouldn't want to drive that in Phoenix in July though.
  8. using Tesla motors,
  9. That Galaxy looks HUGE! Impressed the Lark did so well. That's some great action.
  10. Apparently not! This picture was taken by a friend's son, who worked for Ferrari at Pebble Beach this year. I searched for a public picture recently, did not see this car, with a gorgeous teal paint. Almost makes me want to break open the sealed kit and built another one.
  11. Wow, what a beauty! I have another Profil24 kit, the Audi Quattro S1, I should look at your WIP to see how well this went together.
  12. I have this kit too. I was hoping a full engine kit would show up. Keeping an eye on this one too!
  13. I've lusted over that Porsche Turbo RSR, but ever since I got sick drinking that poison, I lost interest. I got the GTO kit a long time ago, good thing from looking at asking prices nowadays. I got the Replicas detail parts some time ago too. Today I received the HRM engine kit, so good lesson to be patient. I got the Porsche kit this year. Then I saw the Renaissance detail parts. I had ordered the HRM engine kit, Red Frog couldn't get it, really annoying to show it on their website, then claim they have been waiting; got a lead via a post here this week so boom! And the Testa Rossa is new, just because I don't have one (have 4 brands of GTOs LOL). Is there a cure for this hoarding obsession?
  14. Bummer. But as my undocumented wife's husband who fought brain cancer for 7 years liked to say, "Life's not for everyone." We all pass on, some have a legacy worth remembering, and his movies always will. My fav was Smokey, close second was Cannonball Run. RIP
  15. Think I had a Hot Wheels of this. First time I have seen a model kit! Yes, build it!!!!
  16. I have a kit of an Aston in my stash, need to see how close to this in detail. It is not the Bond version. The solder wire trick is a great idea. I used stretched sprue on the MB 170V Roadster, a bit inconsistent. Will stay tuned.....
  17. Very nice! That the 1/20 or 1/12 scale kit? Cool thing about the carbon-fiber back then, the color shows up better. Today's cars must be a PITA to build, with all the crazy aero winglets, and now the crash hoop.
