  1. Wow, I'm lucky to get one at a time finished, extremely impressed! I'm sure those Jags are scarce as kits.
  2. I finished some projects since last year, so I have an excuse to show up!
  3. government regulations dictating
  4. of Mount Everbreast
  5. I'm going to lurk this topic! Pico: Do I spy a Ferrari Lusso on the back of the bench? What kit is that?
  6. AZ with UFO sightings. If that includes spotting Mexican Snowbirds, then that is a slam dunk.
  7. cover, burning away
  8. Looks GREAT! I'm impressed with the chrome. I built the convertible last century, awesome kit.
  9. I can't see the pictures.... does one have to sign up on that website?
  10. Love it! I ought to find your in-progress thread.... I test drove the GTi when they were new, compared to my '77 Civic it was awesome.
  11. THANK YOU for all the comments. I did buy it recently, part of the eBay sickness you people got me infected with (gotta blame others you know). Yes, as Ace-Garageguy pointed out, it's a POS, but that is the challenge for some of us, since we tend to be unable to build anything box stock anyway. That is what makes it intriguing for me. Far as what is collectible, I do have a bunch of Fujimi kits, three 1/16 scale for example. I also have the AMT Stealth Indy 500 pace car kit, since that was controversial at the time and not used, otherwise would not have bought it, and it's sealed. I also have the R&D Exotics Chaparral 2J "Sucker" car, which has not been produced for a long time, so I imagine building a diorama with a guy putting on the second Hoover sponsorship logo, with a Jim Hall figure holding a letter saying "somebitches banned it" would be punishable somehow. Oh yea, also have a Dukes Of Hazzard kit with the Politically Incorrect decal, but no interest building it, so whatever.
  12. Seeing my Once Upon A Time thread take off. I figured a bunch of creative folks would like it.
  13. award winning docudrama OMG you people are killing me! Love how y'all took off with my thread and are going to town, thank you. Read everything, LMAO.
  14. I know right? Finishing the interior, as in trim around the windows, the bars in the windows (instead of using lame decals), thinking of including LED light with fiber optics, and finding time. Sorry to hijack this thread, someone *finished* a model and should be applauded.
  15. I consider it related, since c-f is also a fabric. Was thinking the Lamborghini Setso Elemento is completely c-f (including exhaust pipes!), so why not.
  16. Thanks, that was my intent.
  17. Ok, I'm watching this thread......
  18. I have 4 different kits of this car, the Gunze, Italeri, Fujimi, and Protar. Now I know Revell also made one, but I bet it's not as good, but I still got detail parts yesterday designed for that kit. I'm coming back to read everything......
  19. You have the patience of a saint. Watching this from a great distance. And is there a bowing smiley?
  20. I have always wanted to build a Mercedes C-111, have a Corgi but that's not the same. Does not seem to be any kits available, just this horrid motorized toy from a defunct manufacturer. I just had to get it. It would be a ton of work to correct the body to begin with, but it's basic shape looks correct. Even Jay Leno could not own one, since Mercedes has kept all of them, so my idea is to double up on the sacrilegious aspect, and resto-rod it with using the chassis and engine, and some of the interior, from another legendary car that won Le Mans. What is your reaction to this idea? 1. You are crazy? 2. I'll buy that C-111 for double what you paid for it. 3. Wish I thought of that. 4. Why don't you build something normal like Fords or something? 5. Are you freaking insane?!?!?
  21. Without seeing a picture of what you want, I have to assume it's regular blue jeans. Have you tried using fine screen as a mask? In my example, I wanted to mimic the cloth used by MINI that was a space age looking cloth. I sprayed flat black first, then aluminum. I used a fine brass screen, bent to form as close as possible, and did a quick squirt of the second color. I would think dark blue first, then a lighter blue, perhaps a third really quick mist of almost white.
  22. The first forum I joined was North American Motoring, for MINI Cooper enthusiasts. Before they sold out, it was very active. This was one of the most popular Off Topic threads. Rule is, add only THREE (3) words to continue the story. If you want to cheat by using hyphenated words to slip in more than 3 words, the next person can change the subject. You cannot post until someone else posts. If it gets busy, you might need to edit after someone beats you to the punch line. Once Upon A Time, plastic smelled like
  23. Dang, that's KILLER! I love the unusual cab/pickup configuration. I see you used the Porsche dashboard. Nice you have a whole engine in there. Now you have me wishing to resume on my project that I started last century.
